Key Mapping?

I stopped following the progress of this game before alpha started. I seem to recall, at that time, key mapping wasn't on the agenda. Just thought I'd check in and see if there'd been any new talk on it since then. I'd like to be able to map to a gamepad

There are instructions on how to change the keybindings in the New Player Guide. You've been able to change the keybindings since Alpha.

I gave up before alpha. Got tired of some of the attitudes people had. Figured I'd just walk away and check back in the future to see if it turned out to be something I wanted to play. Glad to see I can play with a gamepad after all. My laptop crapped out on me but when I get a new one at the end of the summer ima prolly check this game out. Thanks for the response!

Be aware that the weapon/expendable UI has a toggle that switches between two weapon sets, so whilst you can assign a gamepad button to "Attack 1" on whatever weapon is currently toggled you cannot assign a button specifically to "Attack 1 on my Primary Weapon" or "Attack 1 on my Secondary Weapon".

@Neadenil So basically, I just need to make sure I manually switch weapons before attacking, if need be? That's no problem, I can do that. Thanks for the tip!

Correct. you click the green toggle in the middle of the bar, or press the tilde"~"/open-quote key (left of the "1" on u.s. keyboards.)

..and since the "~" is on the far right of nordic keyboards and not even on a separate key, remapping is pretty much necessary.

however, i've done it by simply remapping my mouse buttons (setting button6 to "~") rather than changing the keybindings for the actual game (setting weapon swap to mouse button6, which wouldn't work if i used a 3-button mouse).

Shouldn't that be possible for gamepads too? ..and steam controllers?
