and their accomplishments, stories and how they rose to godhood?
I'm a big fan of reading the lore and interactions between the various deities, such as how Aroden supposedly last spoke to Pharasma before his death, how the orginal gods fought back Rovagug, how Shelyn stole the Whisperer of Souls from Zon-Kuthon, etc ...
I've been looking for a Pathfinder Campaign setting book this whole time that lists out these exploits, but someone told me I'd be more likely to find them in the novels. Having never purchased a Pathfinder Novel before, I figured I'd ask you fine folk for help narrowing down the scope of the novels to find what I'm looking for.
Thanks!

How about Inner Sea Gods?
Looks promising, but I'm definitely looking for more lore (stories, history, timelines) and less mechanics (feats, items, spells).
Do you know if it fits that criteria?

Its definitely a supplement to the game, but there is quite a bit of lore there.
You could also check here: Pathfinder Wiki
Just search for the relevant topic. It doesn't have everything, but there is quite a lot.

Legendary Games Dark Druids adds a bit of mechanical stuff (with some fluff implications) to the clergy of Zon Kuth... ermm I mean the Chained God and the Umbral Forest.
Liane Merciel's Pathfinder Tales novel Nightglass likewise adds a deeper look at the religion and Nidal.
Neither adds anything concrete to the mythology though.
Question: what about the Faiths of Purity/Balance/watsitcalledtheevilone? Do they add any lore or only crunch?
Question 2: the deity articles from the APs? Have they been reworked into Inner Sea Gods? Any that are not in there?
The Book of the Damned series probably has some lore of the respective fiends interacting with/relating to some deities.

The Faiths of ___ books were pretty crunch heavy. They added the paladin codes to those gods that accept paladins, and a lot of good crunch but not much fluff. "Inner Sea Gods" and "Gods and Magic" both had more fluff than crunch.... the later of these was written in the 3.5 days at about the time they were deciding if they were going to create pathfinder or go to 4E, is it was intentionally written crunch-lite.

That's the bulk of what's available. the rest is minor bits and pieces scattered around various sources, and it's not much. And for the most part it's not the nailed down time, date, and forensic details you seem to want.
