Advice required for a Paladin trip build.

Advice

First of all, thanks in advance for any replies to this.

I have a 3rd level Aasimar Angelkin Oath of Vengeance Paladin and was wondering how to make the most of tripping - lunge or greater trip?

My ability scores (rolled) are: 20,14,11,13,11,16.

My DM has been kind enough to allow me to skip combat expertise so I have taken combat reflexes and improved trip, I was thinking of taking Power Attack at 5 for when I can't trip, then lunge or greater trip at 7.

The campaign is likely to go to 13 and for feats 9 and 11 I'd really like to pick Angelic Blood and Angel Wings (increasing my con to 13 via ability score increases) as we don't have an arcane caster and so non-magical flight would be handy.

I've also been given a variant of a lucerne hammer to play with, the damage has been dropped to d10 however it's been given the trip quality (so brace, trip, reach and a bonus to sundering armor).

I'm going to be picking up a mithril breastplate when I can the adding the titanic property to allow me to trip huge monsters and add the armor enhancement to my trip once per minute.

So there's the main plan that I have; if I'm not smiting evil enemies I'll be knocking them over - is there anything that I could be doing or picking up to make this better?

The Exchange

Greater trip. Lunge can be fixed with a 50 gp potion of enlarge person. If permenancy is allowed, take a permanent enlarge person if dungeon space permits.

Thanks, is it ever worth using trip when full round attacking? From what I've read on here it seems possible to attempt a trip, then if successful declare a power attack before rolling the AOO which would mean my AOO benefit from the target being prone, effectively allowing me to full round power attack without penalty.

If I am able to pick up some titanic armor, my trip CMB at 7th level will be at least 17.

You need to take the penalty to power attack to trip someone in a full-round attack. Power attack states you take the penalty on all attacks and combat maneuver checks, which trip is considered.

Thanks, my thoughts on this was based on this post here.

If there's anything more recent or an FAQ then I'm happy to accept that, of course I'll check with my DM for his decision on it. Perhaps I can try to fit furious focus in somewhere.
