Links to Errata and FAQs?

So when a question gets tagged "Answered in the errata/FAQ" it can actually be pretty difficult to figure out which errata or FAQ (Search Everything doesn't even search the FAQ page) it's referring to. Would it be difficult to add a link to the FAQ/Errata in the tag? Something like, "Answered in the errata (link)."

The easiest way to do this for new FAQs is simply to keep an eye on the Pathfinder Design Team account. Favorite one of their posts, or save the link to the profile or something.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I actually have something like this pretty high up/outlined specifically on my forums wishlist for the tech team when they next address that part of the site. So, we agree it would be a good feature to have :)

What would be ideal for new errata would be an RSS feed for them ...

I agree something needs to be done. It's so frustrating to see a question answered in the FAQ but then be unable to find it.

For now though, when a dev marks a FAQ request as "does not need a FAQ" it would be nice if they also quoted the correct interpretation from the thread.

Still have no idea how overuns, charges, charge through, and other stuff related to it work.

Funny you mention this, because it's the exact issue I'm having frustrations with right now. I noticed in one of the threads that it was addressed in the FAQ, but search as I might I can't find anything.

Someone much better at framing FAQ request threads should probably start a new thread about it so we can get a real answer.

As it is I don't know if I can trample past a line of people with my horse or not.

I have some thoughts on how to adjust the options for our responses on our end of the system as well (like linking to various areas of the site, products, and so on). We'll see how it shakes out when it gets worked on next.

Links between product pages and FAQ regarding those products would be real cool.
Also, with some products, there are often designer answers or clarifications within the discussion thread. Somehow gathering those or poiting them out in threads with several hundred posts would also be a very nice move. And a long time agenda^^

I suggest a fourth rider for that next to Review, Discussion and Download.
