And by someone I mean me. I started playing Sandru after our party was captured and one of our (me again) characters died. I want to write a last will and testament that they find on his person. He would leave the caravan ownership to Amiko. In addition we are camped at Kalsgard, so we could hire a few hands to help. I do understand that it is bad to lose a major NPC, and I don't want to hose all of us just because I don't want a character raised. There is discussion of raising him, but it hasn't been decided. We are 4th level nearing 5th. A little advice on making a decision without spoiling it would be appreciated.

Loot the corpse, bury it in a shallow grave. Say something quick before resuming the schlepp.
Or feed it to the dogs. Whatever.
That's sad. Sandru is a PC in our game. I can't imagine Jade Regent without him.
Any PCs with the trait that connects them to Sandru should be agitating for his resurrection if they're really roleplaying.
There's nothing in the adventure path that makes the four NPCs really important to the campaign, aside from the initial Ameiko plot hook. Sandru and Shalelu and Koya only matter to the story as far as the players/GM make them matter.
Well, in a sense nothing at all matters in an RPG story unless the players/GM make it matter. :)

:) Good responses, all. Character deaths can be part of a good story, imo. I just wanted to make sure the story would be ok without Sandru. There are agitators for raising, I believe we'll discuss at our next session. We'll see how it goes, but if there is a raising or burial, I hope it takes place with all of the gory detail. The advice has helped, thanks!
