GoT like Party

Advice

Ok I wanted to make a character for a party we are going to be throwing together soon. We were all brainstorming and one of my party members said he was going to make one based on the Mountain That Rides Gregor Clegene.

It is a gestalted game so his character was going to be a Barbarian (Invulnerable)//Bloodrager (Untouchable/Spelleater) Which would give him a good DR, Fast Healing, and the ability to eventually burn spell slots to heal himself in battle. Basically he is building a Troll lol. He is using the Half-Giant from Dreamscarred Press.

I wanted to make a character who is sort of like Khal Drogo, at least in the terms of a powerful fighter who does not really rely on armor but is just a powerful in melee. But unlike him I wouldn't mind some spell casting but nothing to vast as I dont want to get in the way of the warrior way of Khal.

I came into this thread with the idea that your group intended to make a party of Game of Thrones style characters who were maybe participating in an E6-E8 no magic campaign and I was going to link you to some cool blogs and such where people have explored "What might Brienne/Eddard/Jaime/The Mountain be like as Pathfinder characters?"

Instead I see rather than playing the characters themselves you're playing 'inspired by'.

For a Khal Drogo style character I'd recommend perhaps savage barbarian combined with mounted fury. If you want him to cast some spells you could potentially go bloodrager, specifically bloodrider, though it somewhat removes the unarmored aspect. Of course, his armor could probably be considered leather or something similar.

For your friend, if he's dead-set on being a bloodrager, he should consider steelblood, due to the heavy armor Clegane wears.

Monk (sohei) // Cavalier for Drogo. Light or no armour, great mounted combat, generally strong fighter.

I am not a fan of barbarian // bloodrager. Have you determined how you'll handle the two different rage pools?

A Full BAB class plus Magus (Kensai) might do a good job of what you want. Kensai gets spells...but not as many as all that, and those you did would be enhancing your sword attacks and buffing, not doing other stuff.

The Full BAB class gets you the warrior stuff, while Kensai gets you Int to AC and the Shield spell, as well as Weapon Focus in your weapon of choice and a bunch of other cool stuff (plus Spell Combat and Spell Strike).

That does focus on Int quite a bit...but Khal Drogo wasn't exactly stupid, so that works for me.

What Full BAB class to use depends on whether you're gonna go Dex or Str based and whether you want a mount, with Cavalier being a good choice if you want a horse (or if you want to skip the horse and go finesse if you go Daring Champion).

Personally, I'd go Cavalier (Daring Champion)//Magus (Kensai) grabbing Dervish Dance and going Dex-based, with enough Str to get Power Attack and enough Cha that Extra Panache at 5th-6th will give me a respectable pool.

Sohei/Cavalier will also definitely work, but I feel high Wisdom and Lawful alignment (particularly the latter) don't reflect Drogo especially well.

The enlightened warrior trait lets you play as TN, and you can get it through Adopted if you don't want to be an aasimar. Alternatively, your GM may just waive the alignment requirement - my group doesn't pay much attention to them.

Is there any particular reason that you think high Int (logical thought, fast learning) is more characteristic of Khal Drogo than high Wis (intuitive thought, willpower)?

Kensai // Cavalier is pretty good, though, given that the OP is OK with adding spellcasting to the character. I'd say a horse is vital to the concept of any Khal, but if you're already departing from the concept a bit the Daring Champion is a mechanically stronger match for the Kensai.

Also, with some thought I'd suggest Barbarian/Fighter for Clegane, possibly with the Unbreakable archetype on the Fighter half (and Hurler to trade out Fast Movement if he's going to wear non-mithral full plate). Take the Stalwart and Improved Stalwart feats plus Combat Expertise for massive DR - normally this eats up almost all the barbarian's feats, but the fighter provides enough bonus feats to cover offense. Unbreakable improves the character's ability to shrug off non-HP hazards, though at the cost of Weapon Training.

Also note that an Untouchable Spelleater Bloodrager can only benefit from Fast Healing, not spell eating, since he has no spell slots to "eat" for healing.
