Cosmo is in the discipline box. He can respond when he has completed his discipline.

Do not look into the discipline box.

Have you considered the effect of sauce? I once had a pizza from Red Line pizza in Tempe, AZ where the sauce tasted like, no kidding, Campbell's condensed tomato soup. (A perfectly fine soup qua soup, but it was horrid on pizza.)

Crust is the foundation of the cosmos. Tampering with it invites disaster. Flavored crust meddles in God's domain and invites his wrath!

Writing down the names of people who don't pay their taxes, I assume.

Oh! Oh, that's brilliant!

Can I change my answer?

In which case is it worse if the mechanics are overpowered?

Well, if you're a game designer, overpowered mechanics can cause people to have a bad time. If you're an engineer, overpowered mechanics can cause a device to ripe itself apart, flinging sharpened metal shrapnel in every direct and eviscerating anyone nearby as well as causing massive property damage.

So probably gaming.

Anybody? I'd say a young Gladys Night. If we're sticking for someone we don't need a time machine to recruit.... I think Estelle. Shardra's thoughtful, reserved, and deliberate, but also deeply emotional.

Avatar (both series) were some of the best television to come out of the US in the past decade! Good storytelling and pacing in the original series, and great visual design in both. Plus Korra gave us canonical nonwhite bisexuals, and that's nothing to sneeze at!

I'd buy that. In fact I'm pretty sure everyone in my game group would buy that.

Even the octopus, who is quite a badass in its own right, just can't deal with these little psycho bastards.

You think it's possible to try and load too much symbolism into a character's appearance or trappings?

Too much.... not really, although you have to accept that after a certain point you're playing with archetypes rather than characters, and maybe even getting into comedy. It's also entirely possible to to use too much symbolism to be subtle about it, but not go far enough to hit archetype level; that's usually when symbolism feels forced and awkward.

I usually prefer to GM. I still like to play, but I enjoy the freedom of GMing.

When I play, I like humans and tengu and halflings--mostly humans. I also tend towards the martial classes--fighter, barbarians, rangers, and rogues--so naturally I am widely hated here at the Paizo offices :D

When will we see that sequel to The Harrowing, with Brambleson escaping?
How about a Brambleson mini, or, even better, a set of the whole The Harrowing cast?

As a note, the Nightpeddler is known to have found a secret path out of The Harrowed Realm. Does this indeed mean that storykin with great force of will can actually leave the realm and continue to exist?

Thanks! Your number one The Harrowing fan!

What game do you GM? Papers and Paychecks? or Settlers of Khaz Modan?

So... I am kind of teetering between two concepts right now for an upcoming game:

Both of these concepts always use diplomacy as their first answer to confrontation. However, after this has failed, different things happen:

1. Damaia Travaris: Actual Pacifist with a Superpowered Evil Side. Damaia is an Abyssal Bloodrager with a massive Diplomacy modifier. She always tries to talk things out, even when everybody is unsheathing their swords and readying their spells. When hit, she hulks out and becomes a combat beast. After combat, she may spend a little time crying, before stoically getting up and moving on.

2. Bethany Lukerios: Martial Pacifist. She's a Flowing Monk with again, a good Diplomacy bonus, and has the Bludgeoner feat to deal only nonlethal damage with her attacks when she's not repositioning opponents. Diplomacy is always her first option, but when things get heavy, she reluctantly kicks ass.

I hope I can do a sequel some day, but Paizo isn't big on publishing direct sequels to adventures. That said, I might be able to bend Eric's ear and get a Brambleson mini some day.

Swashbucklersdc wrote:

Thanks! Your number one The Harrowing fan!

The Nightpeddler is a unique exception to the storykin. His role is the frightening unknown in stories--the unpredictable of the unfamiliar--so he breaks a lot of the standard rules. Especially strong-willed storykin can survive briefly outside the Harrowed realm (as illustrated by the story summoner archetype from the Harrower's Handbook), but to survive permanently away from the home, they need a unique nature (like the Nightpeddler) or else strange a horrible magic to borrow the roles of mortals.

Crystal, do you know why Pazio does not have a great orc race [Urukk Hai Orc].

Do you draw your avatar's art work she of the unspellable name.

Is Merisel's voice as sexy as yours? Why are Merisel's ears so big? They are not proportioned like legolas's ears. Does Merisel get a perception bonus for having such large beautiful ears. "Glances over shoulder to check if Merisel is behind me."

Was Brambleson and the general role of rabbits in the story of the Rabbit Prince inspired by those medieval artworks of rabbits with weapons attacking people? Cuz' that makes them even MORE awesome!

On a not quite unrelated note, I need to pick up a copy of The Harrowing now.

My favorite moment surrounding Midnight Mauler came many weeks after it was released, when an angry-looking Mark Moreland marched up to my desk and glowered at me for a few seconds in silence, before he finally spoke.

"Crystal, did you seriously name the werewolf in this adventure 'Wolf?"

And I said yes. And Mark sighed in that way Mark sighs. And then he turned around and left.

Because "Vilk" is Polish for "wolf."
