We launched our Patreon campaign on March 1st, and we’d love you to be a part of it.
Our goal is simple: to get enough support to pay our awesome, talented freelancers a decent rate for their hard work. Our awesome freelancers are at the heart of Raging Swan Press’s success over the last five years and we want to give them the rewards they deserve (without going out of business!)
The more we raise through the campaign, the more we’ll be able to pay our freelancers–and the more work we’ll be able to put their way. We’ve got three milestone targets, and with each target hit we’ll either pay our freelancer designers more or order more original artwork and maps for our supplements and adventures. Even better, every pledge level comes with its own rewards and the warm, fussy feeling that you’re contributing to something worthwhile!
Come over and take a look at our campaign. Even if you can’t pledge, simply sharing it with your gaming buddies is greatly appreciated by everyone at Raging Swan Press Global HQ.
As always, thanks for your support of Raging Swan Press.

Hey there, Reader! I'll field this one.
Patreon actually has you covered when it comes to this. Creighton is running on a "per release" payment schedule, and Patreon will allow you to set up a monthly maximum. The best part of the monthly maximum is the content Creighton puts out will keep falling in your lap even after you've reached it!
For example, assume you have a monthly maximum of $10 and Creighton charges $5 per item. If he releases three products, you will get $15 worth of stuff, but will only end up paying him $10 for it. To that end, per release content creators have the capacity to be shafted after the first release of the month because the number on their Patreon doesn't actually reflect what they will get for monthly release 2 onward.
This is probably why Evil Hat doesn't try to get more than one item a month out. Patreon is one of their main sources of income, and it's an *uncertain* source of income after that first item goes out.
As an aside, are you aware of this rule, Creighton? Doing the math, this could really hurt you once you increase your freelancer pay.

I would love to support the Patreon campaign, and the purpose is imminently worthy, but I am on a pretty rigid budget right now. I there any way of reliably anticipating how many products would be released in, say, one month, so I could write it in as a regular budget item?
Thanks very much for thinking about supporting us!
Raging Swan Press releases one product a week, generally. So in an average month we release four, but one of those is a free product--the GM's Miscellany line. Of the remainder, two are priced at $2.45 and one is normally a print product or a larger product. So, if you sign up at the $2 level you'd probably end up spending between $4-$6 a month (because some months we release three $2.45 products.
I hope that helps, and thanks again.

I didn't know this! At the moment, it doesn't seem to be a problem in that each release seems to "earn" the same amount. if it becomes a problem in the future, I'll have to come up with a devilishly clever plan, but thank you very much for bringing it to my attention!

Actually, there are three out there that I know of. There's myself, my dad (different middle name, so no "Jr." suffix for me), and this guy.
A Google search also turns up a doctor in Melbourne, Australia.

Is a pack of Welhams a "gangle", "flange" or a "whoop"?

I usually spell it 'Cryton' - there's no need for all those odd, extra letters in the middle ... they just confuse people! :)

Huh. I always pronounce it Cray-ton in my head.
@Creighton - Cryton or Crayton? Or Creffton? ;)
