Oh come on, I had so much fun here it had to be done...

And no, I am not trying to poke fun at Cylerist.

And for the curious: LINK

It's a win-win!

Because each side can use it to fit their own arguments:

Anti-4e: See, you can fix the bad things in 3.5 without releasing new core rule books!
Pro-4e: See, there are things in 3.5 that need fixing, so we need new core rule books!

But no, I am not serious.

:D

Ditheringfool FTW!

You know, if the Runeblade is a decent class, and open content, they could use that as the 12th iconic.

Come on, it's called Runeblade. All pathfinder books out so far deal with a bunch of guys called Runelords. There's a lot about rune magic.

I think Monte called it Runeblade so it could work as a backdoor into Pathfinder ;-).

Any details on what exactly a runeblade is?

Nothing more than:

This book also includes an entirely new base class, the runeblade, for players wanting a character that combines magic and martial skill without the use of spells.

and that AE details for will be included

Perhaps it is to runes what a mage blade is to magic?

I mean, AE has runes throughout and I could easily see a runeblade being in that same venue; empowering yourself and your weapon(s) with runes, as opposed to buff spells, with a certain number of runes you can make ina day, or something like that.

Magical bonuses, effects, et ceteras, as opposed to spells per day.

It's just a guess, though, although I know I'll be buying the thing once it hits. :D

I'd comment more on 4e, but I missed my shot at playtesting it; it'd have been cool, though, since my group playtested 3e, goodness knows how many jobs of mine ago.

I hope not. I'm not going to be able to convince friends to buy yet another system. I have 3.0 or 3.5 friends.. I have friends that mix, using what 3.5 has that 3.0 doesn't. I have friends that will go to 4.0. I doubt there will be any willing to go with yet another rules set that isn't supported at all.

We are certainly interested in seeing what Monte comes up with because, you know, Monte. What we do with what he creates is still up in the air, as is pretty much everything until WotC let's us see the GSL and 4e rules.

Ah now I can finally make a decent Patryn...

It'd be neat if you guys could just hire Monte and work on your own '3.75' (but call it something else).

You could be the "Hackmaster" of 3E rules =p

It would be cool to work with Monte again, but he keeps trying to leave the gaming industry (but like Michael Jordan, he keeps coming out of retirement—much to the delight of his fans).

Monte has come up with some interesting ideas, and I am sure that some of them would make great special rules for a Pathfinder adventure path. I will be buying his PDF.
