Third Party Events at Paizocon 2015

PaizoCon General Discussion

Scarab Sages

I know that the FAQ currently says "Stay tuned for announcements" on how to set up independent events, but I thought I would go ahead and open the inevitable thread for such things.

This year, Dire Destiny Books is planning to host three events, and I hope to see many of you in attendance!

THE 4th ANNUAL JOUSTING COMPETITION at PAIZOCON

Once again we will be hosting the Open Jousting Competition, utilizing the performance combat rules from Pathfinder Ultimate Combat in conjunction with the Jousting variant from The Very Last Book About Mounted Combat. This is a fun event every year and it IS a spectator sport, so if you plan to compete be sure to bring your own cheering section. Prizes will be awarded to our top competitors.

THE BATTLE OF SOLLY'S FARM

War comes to Pathfinder as the forces of Good and Evil clash in an epic struggle. Using the new mass combat system from The Very Last Book About War, players will put their Pathfinder characters at the head of a mighty host of soldiers. Will your characters earn glory on the field of honor, or go down to ignominious defeat?

ALIGNMENT: LAWFUL GOOD vs. LAWFUL STUPID

Join a panel of Pathfinder writers for a rousing discussion of Alignment: it's uses as well as it's pitfalls. We will be exploring some of the many topics covered in The Very Last Book About Alignment. Panel members TBA.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all there!

I'm sure that Sara will let us all know when and where we can submit our events. Who else is planning to run something special?

Scarab Sages Contributor

Are we permitted to ask question about said events in this thread, or should we wait until it's all submitted?

Scarab Sages

I'm happy to answer questions about the events that Dire Destiny Books is planning to run, just bear in mind that nothing is finalized until it appears officially in the event lottery.

Jousting you say? I may know an arrogant knight who needs to make an appearance...

I'm sure his fans will be happy to see him in action! :)

Silver Crusade

I endeavor to make a better showing of myself at the Joust this year...

Though my first bout was flawless I simply could not recapture perfection in my subsequent runs.

Here is to another year!

There's a very good chance that officially or unofficially, I'll be running The Opened Mind at some point over the weekend (possibly in the hotel bar during the Pathfinder Society Special...)

Lantern Lodge Customer Service Dire Care Bear Manager

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I plan on putting information up for event submission early next week. The timeframe is going to be short (submissions due by March 2nd).

Awesome. I believe I'll limit myself to running 2 (maybe 3) sessions of "Riddles for a Sphinx", the Beginner Box scenario from Wayfinder #12. Gotta keep the "kid-friendly" options alive. ;)

Liberty's Edge

Starfinder Superscriber

If I end up coming to PaizoCon, I'm tempted to offer a "Secrets of Cats" game :)

Paizo Glitterati Robot

More information about third-party event submission is now available! :)

Event submission form...er...submitted! :D

Looking forward to this!

I submitted to run several games. One I want to mention is Expedition to Playtest Mountain. I'm only running this once, so when events are available to sign up, sign up early. I"m guessing this will go fast.

Can you give us a hint aboot this wondrous mountain? With my afternoons open, I might be able to attend a few of these off shoots.

This 7th level adventure takes the adventurers from WeAreAllGoingToDie Village at the base of Playtest Mountain and into the uncharted caves to meet monsters neverbefore seen. And hopefully destroy them.

Oh and there's something else in the adventure's description that I am keeping a surprise for now.

RPG Superstar 2011 Top 8

I submitted an event for Fat Goblin Game's Shadows over Vathak setting. I'm looking for playtesters for a new, short adventure that can be run at cons and possibly offered at a future Free RPG Day. I'm planning on having some free product for anyone who attends the event.

Scarab Sages

I have submitted for TWO sessions of "The Battle of Solly's Farm" so that more people will get a chance to participate. It should be a lot of fun!
