Mareq and Husarq's puppet master will be traveling tomorrow and Wednesday. I will have limited Web access, but should be able to post at least once in the evening.

Here's the chronicles for Table II of the Penumbral Accords. Let me know if everything is alright on them, while we wrap up the last scene of the scenario.
Pandora Soulkeeper |
Pandora is ready for 5-07 Port Godless.
She is a woman of the north, born to the ice. She has a natural charming and quite resourceful as she has had to survive to extreme circumstances.
An archery bard build with certain spell capabilities.
Triblin Runlark |
Not going to really be around during the weekend. Some family issues came up, so if botting is needed to run the game, please do so. I should be back within 48 hours.
Kendra_1 |
Kendra is here and ready to play, though all stats not up on profile. Still learning all the stat details.
Pandora Soulkeeper |
I don't like this at all.
I don't want to fight those Pure Legionaries. Yet, there is no way out without going over them, and I fear we might be overwhelmed later if we don't go really offensive and knock them down now that we have an advantage.
I have no idea where everything started to go this bad, but I don't like the idea of having all the guards looking for us around :/
Any idea on how to avoid the combat?

Added a spoiler as this is a shared discussion thread.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Olga seems flusterer by Nantas' suggestion and declines the offer with a wave of her hand:
"Well that's allright, I don' s'pose we'll find any handsome strangers in a seaside cave, would we? We best be focusing on the mission at hand, would we?"
As a side note, in 'ye olden days' of D&D you could almost guarantee finding a some barely dressed, nubile nymph imprisoned in the most godforsaken dungeons. Sure they were always evil magic-users, werewolves or succubi but hey! Girls!
In this party, given female to male ratio I would expect you could find a studly, shirtless mate chained to a wall somewhere, albeit temporarily until such time as he turned on us and and we would have to kill him and take his stuff. Then again given the more open minded times we live in, it could still be a succubus chained to the wall. I know I wouldn't mind. ;PGGG
Triblin Runlark |
I've heard about some research of a Paladin grappling with a Succubus...
I wonder how it's going!

Following suit for those in the Confirmation game:
-Player: Dawn Del Guercio
-PFS#: 171013
-Faction: Grand Lodge
-Dayjob: N/A
Great Green God |
hmm yeah, I guess that is probably a female picture ... was the only Nagaji ... wasn't what I intended, but I'll go with that ... she's female!
Sorry, you just look like someone from my other Confirmation as the daring Sword of Katapesh! Note: Spoilers! Best read post-game.
So, yes I have played through this before, though not with Shonne (show-knee) nor with our DM Kludde. Though I have heard that this particular adventure is very variable, I will of course try to maintain the player/character knowledge boundary.-G3
PS Thanks to DM Kludde for his most excellent comedic timing in giving me the set up for Shonne's complicated backstory.

I understand from a conversation during my very first PFS session, that there is a type of bag that is waterproof. I only have the core book and strategy guide, and I haven't found this type of item. Can anyone tell me what this is, and if I need the appropriate guide to purchase it?
Thanks.
NJHeart2Heart |
You need the appropriate guide to use any of the items you want. As for the waterproof bag, Ultimate Equipment is a great resource to have!
Thanks much for the answer.. though I don't know if I'm ready to fork over more $$ just to get the waterproof bag :)

Kendra now has a day job: Librarian.
She wanted a job as "mediator", but that's definitely in core rulebook (if any!) :P
I'd appreciate a quick review from anyone willing to take a look at my stat block in my profile. I just finished it, but it may be too wordy... I am big on proving the sources for every number I have, but perhaps it's overkill?
Personally, I'd much rather just save a link to my character sheet on google sheets. I hate having to duplicate information- way too easy to introduce consistency errors that way...
Thanks Michael Hopkins and GGG - the translation for money worked just fine on my check register template with just a couple tweaks.

You might want to just summarize your perception modifier, don't see a total on Spellcraft, and maybe just list your feats without the description (most people know what Improved Initiative does and if they don't it's easy enough to look up). Personally I think it just makes the block look cleaner and easier to read (especially with the number of feats you will eventually have). Oh and you have an extra "wizard 1" at the end of your grey-text stat bar and an extra "female" at the start. You might want to squeeze a "half-elf" in there somewhere.
As far as I know (and while I know the game passing well - I'm a recent Pathfinder Society member and then only online - I don't ever remember seeing anything that said you can't be a mediator. It would basically be the business end of Diplomacy, Intimidate and Sense Motive allowing you to make money from personal interaction and dispute settlement. As an alternative you might take Barrister, Diplomat, Guru, Sage, or Wandering Wise Woman as Professions. I've got a character who has Profession (That Wise, Old Guy Who Is So Exceedingly Wise He Has Nothing Better To Do Than Hang Out At The Edge Of Town Dispensing Advice) +8. So there you go.
See ya game-side,
G3
Oh and PS. You can just link it all as well, See Shonne's character page and look up near the top. Its just easier to view for some by just having it typed out on the page.

I'm planning on getting the PDF for that one this week, since I can print it out for the local game days, to help with any of the newer players. I do have to say, at least our group doesn't have too many shenanigans going on, concerning fun power creep stuff.
Kendra_1 |
@Kendra: You're a great candidate for the strategy guide! Just came out, clearly explains character building, actions, etc
Thanks Ryan- I have it in PDF! :) It's been great for character creation tips so far :) I'll have to read the REST of it, for game play rules :o I've been so darned busy putting together my character(s) (I have another for real life play), and since in real life, they kinda "move ya along" with quick advice, answers (sometimes before you ask!) and of course the players are collaborating verbally - that I haven't put much time into reading general gameplay rules.. and there is my next task!!

HA!! I love it ! :)

People often refer to character building as the Pathfinder mini-game.
If you have any questions ask.
You were asking about actions ... pretty much you can ...
1. Move and move (30' per move, so six squares every other diaganol is 10')
2. Or move and Attack/Spell cast (in either order)
3. OR five foot step (not a "move") and attack
If you move out of a square that is next to an enemy (a threatened square) they get a free attack on you. Unless you make a five foot step.
I don't think the mosquitoes can get a free attack though ... they're too dumb.
That's the basics.

Thanks so much Ryan :) Looks Like picked a great place to begin my PbP adventures :) All of you on here have been a great help to me :)
Pandora Soulkeeper |
I think it is better if the GM selects the action, or you can just jump them and give them 2 actions on next round.
If told to advice about next actions, I guess summon monsters for one and facing the enemies with the quarterstaff for the other might be ok.

Good idea. I've heard other experienced players say the same thing. I have a local PFS game, but it's on Sunday afternoons, and I've only gotten to 2 of them since beginning of March. I would like to do more, but too many other priorities. I'm loving the PbP though, as I'm on the computer most of the day anyway, and can take a few minutes here and there to respond to game actions any time :)
Kendra_1 |
For Confirmation players:
..ohhh.. hmm.. am I the only newbie in this group then? I like the fact that our benevolent DM has cautioned us (or maybe only I am feeling the benefit?) a couple times.. In this case, I guess I was thinking we should keep doing stuff.. and didn't know what else to try..and maybe wanting to practice using stuff...maybe I need to go ahead and slow down so DM can respond to each player action...I will say I'm having a lot of fun with this and already can't wait to sign up for another ;)
Nantas Slickskin |
Oh ... and I mean everyone else in general, not necessarily here. And yes, many people are typically more friendly. My son always tries to make friends with everyone ... often works.
@Kendra: play-by-post has some advantages over face to face. Role play is much easier in pbp a you have the time to formulate what your going to say for instance.
Triblin Runlark |
Oh, I think it's going quite well Miss Olga. We just need better people skills, and maybe some taste of culture that isn't from the wilds.
Hikage Kasai |
@Confirmation: Sorry if it looks like I'm taking a back seat, but I'm doing so for two reasons: first, work keeps me very busy these days, and second, I've GMed/played that scenarios more times than I can remember.
DM Kludde |
Can I have rolls and PFS#s for 5-06 You have what you hold, while we await the final confrontation?
- Player name
- PFS#
- Day job
- Faction
- Any items you want to tick on your faction sheet
(If you've already rolled it, can you quote it for me? Saves me a lot of searching...)
Kendra_1 |
@Hikage - I'm glad you're with us but I am curious as a new player.. What's the strategy and/or fun of playing the same scenario over and over? I would guess new players add some element of randomness, but is it because of the character level? Can your newer characters not survive other, perhaps more interesting scenarios? Or is it that there are not enough GMs doing a variety of scenarios (and shout out of thanks to Kludde for his amazing committment to doing just that-esp. for us newcomers!)
