Erik Mona's Miniatures Trading Afterparty

PaizoCon General Discussion

Folks,

Every year, after the convention winds down at 2:00 on Sunday, I host an informal miniatures trading afterparty in the hotel bar.

Please bring along your excess, unwanted miniatures (painted, prepainted, or unpainted) and join us for a lively and fun event.

We all have a bunch of figures we probably will never use. They can be gems for someone else looking to offload stuff you will probably love!

Most of the action tends to focus around prepainted figures like Pathfinder Battles, D&D Minis, Heroscape, and the like, but lots of folks (including yours truly) will have metal figures on hand.

I'll even be bringing along several "blank" Pathfinder Battles bases at various sizes, which are great for conversions.

The event should last a couple of hours. It's always great fun, and all are welcome.

Just don't forget to bring your minis!

Looking forward to it!

Dark Archive

Will be bringing a small selection of older d&d minis. Space is a premium flying so I won't have much but will be there.

So far two beholders from old sets a harbinger umber hulk and an unopened pack of murgmo and baron Trevino from the kickstarter (for some reason I got two packs and really only want one)

My wants tend to come from the last six or seven D&D Minis sets, which I never actively collected when it was in its prime. I tend to be interested in weird Heroscape pieces, or random prepainted stuff that's somewhat outside the norm.

I'm not really looking to pick up any unpainted figures, but will have plenty on offer.

I've got a fair number of PFB extras, of course. Plus some extras like a few "blank" bases perfect for easy "conversions" or custom pieces.

I loaded a 20 gallon tote with my pre-painted plastics. All divided out into smaller totes by general grouping (humanoids, undead, dragons, etc) I expect to offload a bunch of stuff to all you guys, so be prepared lol

Erik- I'm bringin' a bunch of dragons, some I didn't have last time!

Sweet. I can always use more dragons.

Oddly enough, after inventorying my whole collection last night it appears that I really have a shortage of decent "player character" prepainted figures, so I'm now looking for those, too.

I literally have more than two HUGE boxes filled with various minis I'm looking to trade. Very excited for this year's event!

Shadow Lodge

I had a blast at this last year... and this is one the events that I'm sorely bummed about missing out on this year.

I have a ton of figs from the era of DDM that I would've loaded up for the trip too for trading for Pathfinder era figs.

Save some minis to trade in 2015... when PaizoCon isn't on the 4th weekend!

Dark Archive

Made some great trades and was very happy thanks to all who made that possible.

Yes thanks everyone, especially Erik for hosting and Skeeter for bringing a truckload of minis.

Does anyone remember the name of the gentleman who brought the Mage Knight stuff? I have someone trying to track him down to catch up with him about old times at Wizkids.

Hey guys, it was a blast. if I have anything left (lol) I'll have to bring another load next year. Maybe I'll load up the Bones and bring them next year.

Erik-still have lots of PC-appropriate figs, let's talk.

And to the family of the little girl that was looking for the fox mini: That made my day. The look on her face when she got it, and the trades she wanted to make after, were priceless. That was the whole intent of the trading right there. Please come back next year!

@Skeeter. I was glad that I had a couple of spares of that fox, that made my day as well.

@Drogon. I believe he was one of the Hero Labs guys, can't recall the name (not great at names, but great at faces).

The little girl looking for the fox was/is my daughter.

She turned down going to PonyCon on Sunday to trade minis that afternoon.

There is absolutely NO doubt that you all made her (and our) weekend when she got her fox! =)

She had an absolute blast playing with her minis just outside the bar area - and she continued to play with them for the remainder of the evening.

We'll definitely be back next year - hopefully with the little one in tow as a full-fledged 'Pathfinder'. ;)

Thanks again to everyone for a fantastic weekend!

That was John Leitheusser, who now works at Lone Wolf, makers of HeroLab.

Thank you so much.

And thanks again for the trade. I can't wait to use that awesome figure for a rune giant (or anything similar, honestly).

I want to thank Skeeter for the great deal on the Aspect of Tiamat minature. It was one of the highlights of my first con experience!

Kigvan-

Happy to help. PaizoCon is one of the best-run cons out there, and I have NEVER been treated anything other then great by the Paizo crew. I have known them now for several years, and they never cease to amaze me in their 100% customer attentiveness.

Love those guys (and gals!)
