Does anyone have any possible insight into what sort of motivation might lead to this sort of thing? Other than schadenfreude? Have always been a little curious...

But he's a love marriage specialist!

And by 'lead to' do you mean make someone post spam? It isn't a human, it is a computer program (a bot) that floods the boards with ads. They aren't successful in this format, though they can screw with search engine results.

I'm aware that it's not human :) It nevertheless was presumably designed by a human with some particular purpose in mind. Advertising? One wouldn't think that particular method was ever effective... Although the search engine result thing might be something.

Yeah, realized that after I posted but looks like someone else already did.

It is also really early on the west coast so they may not be in the office yet.
