Please post your ideas, thoughts, sayings and whatever else you can think of to make priests of Razmir loved by everyone.

The first time that I ever ran into this archetype I was GMing a 5-9 scenario in the high tier. The PCs and the GM (me) fell in love with the priest of Ramir, he was healing like crazy and doing all kind of divine stuff, by the end of the game we were all like, "Hail Razmir". I currently have a priest of Razmir in PFS

Truth:
Sorcerer with the Priest of Razmir Archetype from Inner Sea Magic

Give out healing all the time, for free. Every time you heal say something nice about Razmir's healing power. I burn through wands of CLW healing the whole party. When I played The Confirmation, people were like, "How did you cast CLW 20 times?" The GM threw me a wink and said, "Thats just what priests of Razmir can do." No one in the party had spellcraft.

Cast bless on the party and give out as many buffs as possible. Each time talking about the glory, love, blood and divinity of Razmir.

Don't get too preachy Here are some preachy quotes form Masks of the Living God that I am going to start quoting.

Quotes from Masks of the Living God:

Razmir is the god above all other gods. Those who
would claim otherwise are jealous of His glory and
spread lies in an attempt to tarnish his mask.

The mask of the Living God is a
divine vessel. Behind its protective
embrace, His followers can speak
the will of Razmir without fear of
rebuke. His followers must wear the mask
whenever they deal with nonbelievers, so
that they might come to fear His image.

The followers of Razmir act as one. Through
anonymity comes solidarity, with each part working
together to further His glory.

Those who follow the steps of the Living God will be
rewarded with glory and riches. Those who turn from
His path shall have neither.

Razmiran, the realm of the Living God on this world,
is sacred ground, and it is the duty of every believer to
protect and enrich this sacred place. Every temple to
Razmir is an extension of this sacred realm.

Those who do not believe must be converted to
the faith of Razmir by showing them the glory and
wealth that awaits them in His service. Those
who refuse are corrupted by the unfaithful and
should be denied such luxuries.

I can't help but imagine Razmiri PR needing to be downright creepy to outside eyes, like North Korean propaganda.

I also can't help but think Razmiri PR needs to be downright hilariously inept to outside eyes too, like North Korean propaganda.

Because there is something downright perverse about how quickly our reactions can swiftly oscillate between "HAHAHAHHA" and "oh God there are people really having to live with this", where the laughter turns to tears turns to laughter we begin to suspect may now be a refuge.

That's probably how I'd try to build up some, though not all, Razmiri propaganda: Laughable in most venues outside Razmiran itself, unable to be taken seriously at all by most folk.

Once PCs get to Razmiran, it stops being funny immediately upon being face to face with horrible, tragic context.

It's a very specific and creepy dynamic you can't really pull off with Cheliax, Nidal, or Geb.

I'll add my own thoughts to this soon, as it's a topic very near and dear to me. I thought for a moment that the OP's first line was a reference to my PFS character.

...I might just have to make an Inquisitor of Razmir (actually an Inquisitor of Sivanah)...

I imagine Razmir would look a lot like Scientology does to us ... but in this universe, the Scientologists really do gain powers as they move up the Tonal Scale.

In our world Scientology wields a heck of a lot of political and financial muscle. They're very effective at silencing the worst of the criticisms about themselves, especially from their ex-members.

Careful, they might hear you.

To make your Cleric of Razmir well-liked, shouldn't you emulate Razmir and actually worship Sivanah like he does?

well - go with Razmir's strengths... Domains: Charm, Evil, Law, or Trickery; all touched with a dose of the Tears of Razmir. You might go for the Poison Use feat via a 1 level dip into Ninja. Next would be 2 levels in Alchemist.

Remember to take some skills to represent your expertise in slaving, press gangs, drug dealing, extortion, voodoo accounting, along with an MBA in crooked business... P^)

Lastly - there is a ship vanity and there are those barges of razmir...

On other roles, I'm sure some of their members are clueless pampered figureheads or mafia wives, those that only profit off their system and don't really see the uglier side. Then again there should be a few reformers trying to change the system from within, along with a few rebels.

So many of those roles above are supportive of the group that they are in. Remember in PFSociety you can't give away gold, though you can cast spells etc.

I find that as long as you support the party you are with, you won't have any problems.

I once played a priest of Razmir and had to distract pursuers. So he did what came naturally to him.

"Would any of you gentlemen care to hear of Razmir's love for you?"

Whenever I read this, I can't help but think of this or this. In fact, if you combine this kind of imagery (and many of the more cruel tactics engaged, though with less publicity for it) with something like this and this, led by a combination of this guy, this one, and this one (though less peaceful/coexistent-style than the second, and less militarily brilliant than the third); but with magic; you'd get a pretty good idea of what Razmir is like to me.

The promise of power and redemption is a very powerful and tempting one, especially when you're in dire straights... which everyone in Razmiran is. The people of Razmiran seem suspicious of their own ruler-god, but have no other recourse, and they do see that there are benefits to joining and maintaining the church - benefits they long for. They don't like that their own disappear to never be seen again when they join the church, but they're not about to let an invasion force take over their homes either, and if they'd otherwise starve, they'll do something about it, such as join.

Kind of similar, in some regards, to a "turned up to 11" version of the most corrupt eras and locations of the Christian church when priests abused their privilege and power with no repercussions because they were priests, and everyone accepted it... and some decided to join and disappeared (sent to other monasteries or churches or something) never to be seen again, even though the "holy men" lived in places far better than the commoners... though, of course, in this case, there's actual magic involved and the church actively preaches the "value" of excess and pleasure, so it's not exactly "corruption of the message", unlike my own Christianity's case.

That said, I do wonder if a genuinely faithful, but radically divergent cult of Razmir might pop up somewhere, who believe that the "main church" fails to understand Razmir's message when he's right there, so blinded by their own iniquity are they, so they begin to gather political power outside of Razmiran to show their god that they 'get' him and his message, and work hard to give everyone a life of luxury and glory equally. Huh... I could actually see something similar to that being Andoran's eventual fate (or whoever their successor state is), converted to the NG variant of Razmir's faith in a few hundred years...

Of course Razmir is a god...I mean he has his own entry in the Inner Sea Gods book...under Other Deities. Of course the other gods in their jealousy of his power changed it to base lies about him. And removed him from the God Chart at the end of the book...but even for all of their power they could not remove him from the book completely...what does that tell you?

A lot of your effectiveness as a PoR (in an RP sense) depends on your DM and players not metagaming. Most people don't know that Razmiran isn't a real god. Why would they? When you think of how uncommon even level 1 spellcasters are, divine or arcane, why would your average commoner, expert, or adept have any reason to doubt that this masked guy who healed their broken leg doesn't worship a true deity?

I would probably play them using my experience as a Mormon as a foundation. I am not suggesting that my faith is false or evil, just that, like my own religion, Razmir has big focus on conversion through missionary work. Because of such, they would probably use similar techniques, phrasing, activities, and rhetoric, but add in more manipulative activities.

For example, preaching in pairs, focus less on facts and more on testimony, handling arguments with calm grace, knowing how to dismiss or counter attempts to prove you wrong, and being professional in every way.

Because Razmir is false and evil, I think they would take it to another level. They would focus more on the weak minded and use devious means to tear down those that argue against them. They would seek ways to exploit people and twist their faith towards their own purposes. While this is evil, it doesn't always appear to be initially. The methods they would use would look harmless and be friendly at face, but could be ugly in the long run.

Another thing I could see them doing is setting up cons that make them look very good. In this case it would be to gain trust and creditability instead of money or possessions. These cons are harder to pull off because they often involve you sticking around long enough to risk people figuring it out.

If I was playing one in PFS, I would focus on being friendly and helpful. I would immediately change the subject or attempt to dismiss any attempts to discredit the character's faith. Lastly, I would make all the awesome and good things related to Razmir be more noticable, and down play everything from other gods. In fact, I would pretty much try to make it all look like Razmir was responsible.

Nice. This is what this thread is all about. Thanks!

It seems that in most Paizo material Razmirians are described as thugs and confidence artists.

If I were to play one and try to be liked I would pull the "giving it away for free" move. Other clerics don't like to heal you, I do! Other clerics charge a lot, I charge less! Other clerics only help you if you are church members, Razmir loves everyone of course I will help!

Make the other churches look stodgy and dogmatic while Razmir is just helping everyone.
