Scarab Sages

So I'm looking to get into Pathfinder Society Online Play, at least until I can move down to Texas and find more in-person tabletop stuff. I've found a game to sign up for and I have a character in mind and all kinds of fun things but I've run into one problem.

Anyone have any tips on building a character sheet? HeroLabs is out of the question, and I've been using RPGCrossing's character sheets for a year now but I don't think those are legal for Society Play? I've poked around but it doesn't look like anyone's made a fillable Pathfinder Society character sheet like Paizo offers for the inventory sheets.

Does anyone have any tips on how to proceed?

Where in Texas are you moving to?

Dallas-FortWorth area in six months, give or take. We've been trying to move down there for a year so take it with a grain of salt, but we have the insurance policy in the bank finally so it's unlikely to move too much anymore.

Usually when you're online the character "sheet" is a token. You pres a button and it rolls the dice for you: the more complicated ones can even do things like determine crit threat and crit damage.

If you want to let the dm see the character, this is a great place. if you click your own name, go to aliases, people can see your character. you can put anythng you want in the profile there.

Rainbow,

Really there is no such thing as an illegal character sheet, at least to my knowledge. We have official ones, we have HeroLab ones, we have Bad-Ass Bandanna ones (form-fillable PDF!), we have Dyslexic Studios ones, we have the profiles here on Paizo.com, and more. As long as it has all of the information there, it's good.

If you would like to make a character sheet on your character profiles here on the forums, I would recommend Dakcenturi's guide to creating character sheets for Play-by-Post.

Over on Myth-weavers they have fillable character sheets that you can link to, you don't even have to play on myth-weavers to use them.

Ah! I thought I'd read something about illegal sheets becoming a problem and just wanted to make sure, I must have misunderstood somewhere.

Dyslexic Studios is very handy! And Myth-weavers is pretty similar to what I use over on RPGX so that is very handy! Thank you guys so much for the quick response. Pathfinder I'm pretty familiar with I think, but dipping into Society is a whole new box of worms.

What you might be thinking of is a post about "chronicle sheets". I think they were having problems with people making customized chronicle sheets to give to people after the games and some of the information was either being omitted or being changed, and that was causing some problems.

But pretty much what everyone else has said. As long as you have the information down, you can use pretty much anything. I use mythweaver and my profile here for my online gaming.

For a PbP game set up the sheet in your profile. When you register a character for PFS the boards will create an alias for that character & you can edit his/her profile. Some GMs might have specifics they want to see for the PbP characters, but any of Sior's links work.

Thanks Sior for putting them all in once place :)

Some people actually invented and added boons to the chronicle sheets which they thought were a nice reward for good roleplaying. Since they used form-fillable custom sheets, players had to way to know they had received an illegal sheet (unless they bought the scenario and compared their sheets to the official one).

As for character sheets, everything that lists your character's stats in a good, readable manner is acceptable.
In my area, there are some people who use fan-made custom sheets or just write their stats on a blank sheet of paper. And that's not even online play. The official character sheets are just a suggested way of tracking your character's stats (as it is pre-structured for Pathfinder purposes).

My pleasure. It's hardly all of them, just the ones I've seen or use personally. I love Bad Ass Bandanna's sheet, but the Dyslexic adds a class-sensitive sheet that tracks things Bad Ass doesn't. Sad it's not form-fillable.
