You only wish the chance was so low.

Nahh. I took a feat for that; I'm good. I think. Unless I'm misinterpreting...

Remember that the Blind-Type feat only allows you to roll twice and take the better result.

Problem is, he has a 50% chance to pick the wrong die.

I played this game at a local con a few weeks ago. The slot was 5 hours long, and we finished it in just about 4 hours, give or take a few minutes. We never felt rushed or pressed for time.

That's good going for this scenario. I have run this several times and I would say generally allow at least 5 hours at lower sub-tier, and at least 6 hours at higher sub-tier with 6 players. I assume that you somehow streamlined the initial investigation or you had a near optimal party for the scenario makeup.

I played PORT GODLESS at MegaCon, and I had a great time. Our group was well balanced, and our judge allowed for some planning and improvisation. It was the fun I had at this table that encouraged me to continue playing Pathfinder, especially after the utter crapfest that was the first part of EYES OF THE TEN.

I think we finished in something like 3.5 hours. Of course we also triggered several encounters at once at the end and ran away like scared bunnies with over half the party dead, but we did finish in 3.5 hours...

(Note to others: If you have a party that consists of a high damage, high hitpoint fighter, a (poorly built) priest of combat, and 3 support characters, do *not* let the fighter go off investigating while you heal up from the last combat. He got surrounded, killed, and they took out one of the support characters who tried to save him. Leaving two other support characters to buff the battle cleric, who somehow did not have any attacks that could hurt the enemies... The only escapes were the wall climbing bard... And the battle cleric... The flying wayang witch died trying (unsuccessfully) to slow down the enemies.)

Funny.

We did this PbP. Tactically, this was one of the most difficult combats I've had. The other being Tholrist with half a party of level 2's that should not have been in the mission. Our group got split into two groups and we had no cleric in either. But we had an idea of who we might be facing and it gave us a small edge. We also had a gunslinger who, despite rolling three misfires, did a tremendous amount of damage while a bunch of us ran around for our lives.

Amazingly we defeated everyone, but the BBEG did escape. Our GM was nice. He probably could have TPK'd us if he had really wanted to, but I'm realizing this is true for the vast majority of PFS scenarios I've been in. This, however, is not a scenario I would want to run with a GM I had no previous experience with.
