Hello PaizoConians!
My co-GM from my home group and I have been playing around with Burning Empires for some time now but haven't yet been able to play it "for real" for want of sufficient players. PaizoCon presents an opportunity to give it a go so I want to see if it'd be possible to scrounge up a few players interested in trying it out...or, better yet, some players that already have experience playing it.
There are a couple of options:
1) Quick and dirty: I could run a convention scenario that uses pre-gens and a pre-defined world and situation but skips some of the metagame elements. This would take four to five hours.
2) Epic mode: We could get together and burn our own world and characters and play through one or more "maneuvers". It's an involved game but I've got a pretty decent handle on the rules and some books to go around. I think we could do world/character-burning in about four hours with a couple of hours for each maneuver.
I'd enjoy #1 to be sure but my ideal choice would be #2...if it's possible to find enough players with time/interest in devoting that much effort. If #2, I'd be willing to do it in one gulp or maybe do a couple of sessions in holes that line up in our schedules. I'm relatively sure I can convince El-El to join us so that leaves finding at least two more players (more would be great). zylphrx has also expressed some interest.
Here are my openings at present:
Wednesday 3pm-whenever
Thursday 8am-noon
Friday 8am-whenever
Saturday 8am-noon
Sunday 2pm-whenever
So, if you're interested please post here and note option number and list out some windows when you'd be available to play. Hopefully we can get something going.

Well, you know I am interested. Either option works.
Wednesday 9:44pm landing time currently :( But I am a late night kind of person :)
Thursday 8:00am - 12:00pm / 12:30pm (there is also the meet and greet and some other evening gaming)
Friday 8:00am - 12:00pm (starting at 1pm I am pretty much booked until the end of the Wayfinder Panel discussion at 9pm)
Saturday is pretty well packed (including a certain game at 9pm)
Sunday 2:00pm - whenever

Sounds as if Sunday afternoon/evening is the time to get the bulk of the playing done. Maybe Thursday morning would be a good time to get the world and character burning done. I think that works for El-El but I'll check.
The question now is whether we can get anybody else with those schedule holes Who wants to join us for the Epic Mode BE game. Anybody else want to give this a go?

If you're not familiar with BE there are some podcasts of actual play here and here. In the first link I'll recommend the Prometheus Chained, especially session three (edit: sorry, four). In the second, there's a pretty good overview of the game itself plus some actual play. They're long but fun.
M
Edit: I'm still listening to Prometheus but enjoying it quite a bit. They're getting into the system pretty well by session four and things are really flowing.

Quoth Xenia, "Hull the lot! We'll sort them out later."
Excellent! That's two. Can we get one or two more hosts...erm, players?
M
Edit: So, at present we're looking good for World/character burning on Thursday morning ~8am-12pm and playing on Sunday ~2pm. The three of us could certainly get together for it Wednesday night late instead of playing Marvel but I'm not sure we'll find anyone else with that schedule hole.

So we're good with El-El, zylphryx, Jake (part-time), and me. Dark Sasha mentioned something about sleeping off a red-eye during World Burning but I'm not sure if she'll be sleeping or join us and just be sleepy. Please clarify if you see this, Sasha. :)
We'll do burning at 8am on Thursday and play from 2pm until whenever on Sunday night. I think you guys (except Sasha) have my cell number.
See you there. A world shall burn!

Will do. After some brief exploration it looks like Google Hangouts plus Google Docs/Drive might be the way to do this.
I am submerging into a week of hard catch-up work and a two-week business trip but I'll keep exploring when I can and connect up with all of you via other means shortly. Jake, I'll PM you my e-mail and try to get yours so I can share whatever I put together.
