Congratulation on your new membership. Did the leadership situation change at all now that you have attained such an amount of military expertise?

For a group that likes to whine and complain as much as you guys do about commenting in recruitment threads, you certainly don't hold yourselves to it.

You guys are pulling up necro threads and popping up all over the place crying.... You obviously have Officer retention issues. I'm assuming trying to lead a pack of care bears in an open world pvp mmo is frustrating as all Hell.

I'm sorry if by congratulating you on those both thing I offended you. The congratulations where genuine and the question fueled by curiosity and not sarcasm. I see how given my post history you would think so but I assure you it is not.

Goblin Squad Member

Guess you totally missed my post Bluddwolf....

Either way, good luck, I can't wait for you guys to SAD me, it will be good to get good PvP, no matter who wins.

Good Luck UNC!

If you are referring to Andius changing our average "military expertise", yes I took that as sarcasm.

I can not confirm or deny his "military expertise", but I can be sure of his enthusiasm.

UNC "military expertise" in a gaming sense is founded in years of playing PVP focused MMOs. But more significantly, most of our membership are also former or active military and this gives us a sense of cohesion.

I'm glad to be here. If there is one thing UNC offers it's membership it's freedom. There is plenty if freedom with UNC for those looking to pursue more noble objectives... as well as those looking toward baser objectives such as vengeance. In short UNC offers everything I need.

Vengeance can be a viable way to play. But be careful Andius, it can quickly go into 'griefing' and get the Devs to bring down the Ban Hammer. Would hate for that to happen to you shortly after the game starts.

Yep, that's one of the great points to pick up during service. Working as a cohesive unit in your endeavors. I also found the emphasis on military bearing to be a useful life lesson as well. Maintained it even into the civilian world. Find it useful in gaming as well. My experience anyway.

I agree. I am not former military, but the friends I have brought along (a couple) are. The rest of us will be able to fit in quite nicely. The only experience I can bring to that end is that I had an FC from Eve that was a drill Sergeant and ran his fleets as such.

Contrary to the views of a very few, the UNC is anti griefer. We have expressed it consistently for over a year, and put our policies on the forums for all to see.

Vengeance can be carried out without griefing, and the desire for revenge is perfectly acceptable within our ranks. We do after all have a large contingent of Assassins and one of our revered deities is Callistria.

As Andius stated above, there is much more freedom of action in a CN company, than you might find in others. In another thread he had stated that in a short period of time he discovered that the UNC has far more depth of purpose than he had previously thought.

If we were able to show our staunchest rival the quality our company, in just a few short days, just think what we might offer to a new recruit who did not start from those negative assumption.

Come join the UNC and realize the freedom to live your life without the chains imposed by "The Man"!!

* As long as the freedom you seek doesn't include griefing or owning / selling slaves.

Hmmm... I'm somewhat impressed with that transition to the OP purpose.

"Vengeance against people whom didn't respect my authoritah !!!" is absolutely not griefing, I agree.

While I'm sure some might slap such labels on me I will be operating fully within the spirit and intent of a mechanic that grants a unlimited consequence free kills on members of a specific company/settlement.

I expect those not already aware will soon find such brutality will not only be allowed but be the expected behavior in wars/feuds. These kind of conflicts are the engine that drives PFO.

Goblin Squad Member

If Andius wants his vengeance, it won't be difficult for him to find permitted avenues to persue it. If he wars you, it doesn't matter if he wants to crush you out of existence, or just push you off your land. As long as he isn't being a jerk about it then it should be perfectly fine. Crushing you isn't being a jerk.

Ha ha! I had to laugh at the single-minded focus on "a specific company/settlement." Gee, I wonder who that might be?

My two-year-old behaves the exact same way when he doesn't get what he wants.

Apologies Xeen and UNC. It is really boring around here (this forum)

There is certainly an excellent story possible behind all of this... I am certain (at least I would hope) that the people involved will not object to some awesome RP built around a story that started here in the politics of this pre game forum and led to interesting (and legitimately executed) content inside the game.

Actually sounds fun. If you like story and stuff, it certainly qualifies as meaningful (IMO).

If not taken "beyond the pale", or done for personal reasons. <---The tricky part.

I'm only going to comment briefly on this topic, purely my opinion mind you...

Once the new forums launch, I would expect that these boards will either be wiped or archived and their impact will be forever forgotten and finally lost.

Once the game launches in OE, particularly, the real gamers will be... playing the game. The forum communities that will count will be the ones that are privately held by each of the charter companies. It will be there that stories that are part of the lore of the individual companies will reside.

Maybe you can come join us here after TSV falls.

There's room here for more than bandits. I won't be engaging in banditry except perhaps against a few select factions myself. UNC and Aragon have a strong anti-slavery stance providing room for freedom fighters among us as well.

Which means sadly your morals are worth less to you than your desire for revenge. TEO was your creation, but with integrity like that, you never could have led it.

Thank you for casting the vision. We'll carry it through, in honor of the Andius that should have been.

Seriously, does anyone deliver more entertainment than the UNC?

When it comes to creating chaos, we run non concentric circles around the rest!!!

Ha ha ha! Andius, you are so funny! You want to destroy something to prove that someone else destroyed it already? What kind of a child does that?

But we know what this is really about, don't we? It's okay. Some children have temper tantrums when they don't get what they want. Someone else is playing with the blue Lego that they want so they just destroy the whole Lego city, right?

Well, Bluddwolf gets to be the responsible one now. Cheers to the UNC for accepting such a... well, for accepting their newest member!

Goblin Squad Member

Easy there Anjel, you risk looking like the same child.

Shadow Lodge Goblin Squad Member

UNC setting Lego Cities ablaze since January 5, 2013!!! Bring hot cocoa, but leave the marshmallows, they'll smell and taste like burnt plastic.

So delicious this chaos! I'll be wearing my Green Hat tomorrow!

Well that's what I was here for. I derive honest enjoyment from protecting those who deserve it. And when they assume I'm their tamed dog, wheel back, and kick me, I derive honest enjoyment from showing them all dogs were bred from wolves.

Xeen, this is what people are responding to. As long as his temper tantrum continues and and he spouts off stuff like this in YOUR recruitment thread, expect resprisals.

If you don't want your thread to get derailed, tell your newest member to stop crying, "Boo hoo! Boo hoo! Those big meanie-pants hurt my feelings!"

But I'll be honest with you, man. I believe you may have bit off more than you can chew by admitting him. At the very least, UNC leadership needs accept that this is the kind of behavior you can expect from your new member and it comes with ramifications.

If you want him, you've gotta be willing to take all that comes with him.

Goblin Squad Member

I want to add, I have a lot of respect for you, Xeen. I've seen how the UNC has been unjustly reviled and abused in other threads but you, Bluddwolf, and The Goodfellow have held your head up and tried to respond with rational explanations of the UNC position. UNC leadership has behaved with maturity and honor.

You now have a very vocal, outspoken, highly volatile member who is, from all the evidence, congenitally incapable of upholding the standards you have put forth. It is not the responsibility of the rest of the community to coddle him when he acts out and pretend he isn't behaving like a spoiled toddler. Instead, it is now the responsibility of his leadership to take control of the situation and try to elicit acceptible behavior from your member.

If that is simply impossible, which I believe it is, then you have some internal decisions of your own to make.

Goblin Squad Member

Xeen wrote:

I for one agree and apologize. I was not trying to waylay your recruiting.
