I didn't see this topic anywhere for Carrion Crown, which surprised me. So here's where you post the party you're playing through this adventure with, or the party you did play through it with, but have now finished.

For my group (Party of 4, I'm the GM), these are the planned PCs all the way up to their 20th level:

- Female LN Elven Oracle 20 (metal mystery, tongues curse)

- Male NG Elven Cleric 20 (Separatist) of Yuelral (Elven goddess of magic)

- Female LG Elven Ranger 14/Lantern Bearer 6

- Male LG Elven Paladin (Undead Scourge) 14/Hellknight 6

The PCs are planned, but not yet played. I currently only own Haunting of Harrowstone and Trial of the Beast, and they'd finish those two far too fast if we started now. I need to save up for the other 4 volumes, and order them first.

And yes, it's an all-elf party! I'm hoping this'll make for some interesting twists.

I'm the GM, my group consist in:

- Male CG Damphir Bladebound Damphir 8
- Female LG Changeling Synthesis Summoner 8 (Angelic Eidolon)
- Male CN Human Alchemist 8
- Male N Human Heretic Inquisitor of Pharasma 8

They are now doing a personnal quest in Karcau.

The group I'm GMing is:

-Male CG Gnome Bard 4
-Male NG Dhampir Infiltrator Ranger 4
-Female CG Changling Cleric of Desna 4
-Female CG Half-Orc Bandit Rogue 4
-Male CN Elf Spellslinger Wizard 4
-Male CN Human Urban Barbarian/Vivisectionist Alchemist 1/3
-Male CN Human Raven Shaman Druid 4 (An eagle shaman with all the birds re-flavored to be more gothic horror-y)

They just finished up Harrowstone last session and are getting ready to venture into Lepidstadt. It's been a blast for everyone so far, though I sped up the

Spoiler:
Splatter Man killings to 1/day
to keep the pressure on and added more
Spoiler:
Adivion Adrissant
throughout to keep things interesting: he actually just married Kendra, which has made him far more sympathetic to the party, and he now
Spoiler:
plans on using them to eliminate other powerful members (ie: Auren, Lucimar, and the Liches at Renchurch) of the WW so that he can be sure to hold the reins in volume 6.

I somehow missed adding this in my own post above, despite remembering the archetypes of the cleric and paladin: The oracle has the Ancient Lorekeeper archetype.

Grand Lodge

In my group, in which I'm the GM, we currently have the following:

- Half-Orc Fighter 10
- Human Inquisitor (Infiltrator) of Pharasma 10
- Human Bard (Archaeologist) 10
- Half-Elf Cleric 3 / Witch (Hedge Witch) 4 / Mystic Theurge 3
- Aasimar Sorceress 10

They are one session away from finishing Wake of the Watcher. Or, perhaps they are one session away from Wake of the Watcher finishing them, seeing as they have possibly blown their resources too quickly and will go into the final fight with few spells. It could get ugly, but they haven't been properly challenged in some time now. I'm looking forward to it. :)

Liberty's Edge

The current party for us, considering all of the original members died hilariously, is:

Tash (Satyr Druid 9) - Formerly had an awakened shapechanging roc named Birdie for his animal companion, but Birdie unfortunately got wasted by Vrood Circle of Deathing him. He now has an awakened shapechanging wolf named Roan.

Rosalita (Human Witch 9) - Niece of the professor from Trial of the Beast. She is, amazingly, the morality chain for our next party member...

THUNDERcles~! (Warforged Fighter 8/Paladin of Numina 1) - Created as a bodyguard by the professor to protect Rosalita, THUNDERcles~! is interpreting this as "taking her hostage and dragging her along in our quest." Started as a heroic sociopath who wanted to murder everything that was not us with his glaive, but actually went from chaotic neutral to lawful good on the spot when his (best, only) friend died to the same Circle of Death. Calls Rosalita "Millstone" a lot.

Rita Imito (Magus 6/Cleric of Numina 3) - Me! Has been very favorably (by me) compared to the Mystic Knight from Final Fantasy V. Has Broad Study (Cleric) as a magus arcana after realizing:
1. You can spellstrike any cleric touch-range spell through a falcata with Broad Study.
2. Cure Wounds and Inflict Wounds are touch-range.

My party are all hellknight aspirants, soon to take the big kill-a-devil test in Lepistadt. I reworked the plot to involve the hellknights trying to establish a proper chapterhouse there and facing some opposition from the Palatine Eye. A hellknight contingent also arrested the Beast.

LG human paladin (Godclaw) who has sort of nominally become the group's leader. Has a thing for Kendra Lorrimor and sees Adivion as a rival for her affections.

LN aasimar cavalier (Samurai) who takes the paladin as a role model and has...issues. Issues serious enough that a paladin in the hellknights notices them. Took some time off in Ravengro to make swanky armor for the paladin.

LN human ranger (skirmisher) with a doggie. Quiet, competent bounty hunter type.

LN half-orc oracle of life (Godclaw) who joined the group a bit late on but provides much-needed healing.

LE human inquisitor (Asmodeus) running around with a questionably orthodox paladin and oracle. Good thing they always have bigger problems.

LE tiefling alchemist, the resident magical expert and potion factory.

And they are stupidly awesome together. Half the time they write the plot tweaks for me just by thinking aloud or doing what their PCs would think to do anyway.

Having only been playing for a few years, I decided to take a crack at GMing. Having fallen in love with the Carrion Crown AP, I decided to grab that as my first foray into GMing - and I'm loving it! Our group is small, having started out with 3 players, but are now down to 2. I created a character for myself to be a backup in case they need her, and when our third person left after Book 1, I slipped my character in to help out the ranks (Ie, take a lot of the hits and if you ask the others - fail all her saves). Despite how different the PCs are, they all get along rather well. You can see some of the antics in the "funniest moments" post.

Male Taldan Human LG Paladin 6/Cleric 2 of Sarenrae - (Undead Scourge and Warrior of the Holy Light archtypes). He came from Restov, Brevoy.

Male Dhampir N Sorcerer 8 - (Undead Bloodline). He came from Caliphas, Ustalav.

Female Half-Elf Bard - (I think she had an archtype but I can't remember). She came from Absalom, but was originally from Taldor. (PC left with Kendra to Caliphas when the player moved after Book 1).

Female Varisian Changeling CG Hedge Witch 5/Rogue 2/Harrower 1. She was from a wandering caravan in eastern Ustalav. (My character and instigator of all the Harrow Cards).

My party is just starting up book 3 -

Gnome Bard 8
Elf Wizard 8 with focus on summoning
Elf Inquisitor 8
Dwarf Monk 8 (some archetype that I should try harder on remembering)
Human Druid 7 / Nature's Warrior 1 (because you have to go to 3.5 to get anything that makes a druid more focused on wildshaping)

So far it has been interesting. The wizard focuses on summoning and utility, so has proven to be relatively weak in combat. The bard is angry at me for having so many mind-effecting immune creatures in books 1 and 2 (hopefully he'll be happier with the werewolves). The druid loves dire tiger form. The inquisitor likes burning things.

Note: no trapfinders. The monk has disable device but, yeah, it isn't exactly on par with a rogue, heh. It has lead to some issues, yes.

Silver Crusade

We've been having alot of fun, though the large group has its problems from time to time. We are partially into book 6:

Flynn (me): Male Human Paladin (oath of vengeance). Uses a falchion and smites alot.
Omari: Male Human Gunslinger (musket master). Shoots things dead. D-E-D dead. Nice guy to adventure with.
Vermont: Male Human Summoner (standard). Has an eidolon. Tends to snooze in combat. Evil good-for-nothing piker IMO :P
Lanwit: Male Dhampir Bard (detective). Finds stuff, disables traps, and casts some useful spells. Has a holy bow. I haven't stolen it, because I like being a paladin. Had his sanity shattered by an elder god.
Ophelia (eidolon of Vermont): Female Eidolon (biped). Large demon that kills things frequently and brutally. I must find a way to bend this engine of destruction to the forces of good.
Estellise (cohort of Flynn): Female Human Cleric of Sarenrae (healing and sun). Heals, buffs, and summons. A noble of the Livgrace line.
Lina (cohort of Vermont): Female Human Sorceror (aberrant bloodline). Casts fire and lightning. Dies if a skeleton looks at her the wrong way.

Typical setup:

Spoiler:

Flynn tanks and kills one guy
Ophelia tanks and kills one guy
Lina shoots fire and kills nothing
Omari shoots bullets and kills everything
Lanwit shoots arrows and detects DR, then stays in the previous room
Vermont keeps Lanwit company in the previous room
Estellise plays doctor

Side note: handing out smite evil (via powerful justice) to a gunslinger and an eidolon is OP.

By the time my players finished Carrion Crown...

(It's been five months since they finished so I may be hazy on some details)

Lauren, CG Elven Werewolf Inquisitor of Calistra 13/Lunar Shaman 3

Lunar Shaman was a Prestige Class I wrote after she became afflicted. Once she accepted the transformation and lost her alignment I allowed her to work her way back to CG. Levels in the PrC represented the work she spent taking back her mind, essentially. Capstone of the PrC was becoming Natural instead of Afflicted.

After defeating

Spoiler:
Adivion, or what had become of him, atop the tower of Gallowspire
she retreated back to Kyonin to immerse herself in a more welcoming wilderness to try and forget the horrors that humans have wrought upon this world. She kept the Raven's Head for herself, taking with her Ustalav's last relic of the old kingdom. A reminder of the trials she'd undergone, of what she used to be, of how no matter what the humans say that which is stricken down should not be brought back to life.

Occasionally continues her work as a Brothel Inspector.

Asira, LN Changeling Summoner 16

Her fate was intimately tied up in that of her eidolon.

Veli, LN/LE eidolon

Originally granted by Lissala to be nurtured through the fire and flame of adventuring under the command of another. The connection between summoner and eidolon was shaken by the horrors of an Elder God, resulting in multiple personalities for Veli. One, the silver-eyed feathered serpent that had grown under the direction, the tutelage, the love of his keeper. The other, the jade-eyed creature branded by his mistress's sihedron rune, he worked to either break free from his keeper or drag her soul back to Lissala for keeping.

As the AP wore on (and I kept rolling badly for the eidolon's dominant personality) Veli grew more and more belligerent as the bond between summoner and eidolon weakened, frayed, nearly severed. However the defeat of

Spoiler:
Adivion Adrissant and his plan to revive the Whispering Tyrant
was more important than any egotistical rise of power and Veli knew his place. Once that was finished...

Asira disappeared into the Varisian wilderness a few months after the campaign ended. No one knows what happened to her and honestly few care. She was a changeling, after all. Everyone assumes she gave in to the Call and now prowls the marshes as a Green Hag. No one realizes the truth is perhaps much more... disturbing.

In my games Veli can now be summoned using Planar Ally by a worshiper of Lissala.

Ah ha, found the old thread.

The party is currently:

1) Caelnin Elensar, elf alchemist L9 (chirurgeon archetype) . Support specialist and bomb chucker extraordinaire. Also, SCIENCE!!!

2) Unther "Oz" Seamus Stargazer III, half-giant ranger L7 (shield combat style, guide and trapper archetypes)/fighter L2 (brawler archetype). Has the feats to do things like great cleave with his shield to bullrush multiple enemies at once.

3) Leda Idona Zaya Idea Aiday Tess, half-Varisian/half-Vudrana human Sorcerer L9 (Sage bloodline). Support and bombardment. Can bring the pain all day long.

4) Aelthyphine Eytherane, elf fighter L9 (two-weapon warrior archetype). Sneaky, agile, and deadly as all hell. Dual wields Aldori dueling swords. I wasn't expecting the character to work, but the question on her turn isn't whether she'll kill something, it's how many things she'll kill at once.

5) Miranda Kateri, changeling cleric of Desna L9 (luck and travel domains; was allowed to give up medium armor and shield proficiencies for two extra skill points). Has done some very interesting feat combos and provides some unique support.

Kendra accompanies the party as an NPC who stays two levels behind the party. Diviner's Insight is a fantastic buff to give party members, and she has her father's blessed book, so Kendra has a significant spell repertoire.

I completely rewrote Gibs Hephanus to be a retired L6 fighter who had been a war friend of the Professor; Gibs also travels with the party, with the same level restriction as Kendra. Gibs has greater grapple, so he's pulled stunts like pinning a Demon Wolf Marauder and walking it over to Aelthy to stab to death.

Just started the campaign with :

Hammer , Human Cleric Crusader of Iomedae
Mira, Aasimar sorceress
Darryl van Straad , Human Ranger
Severian , 1/2 elf summoner

Planned builds:

Halfling NG Archeologist 20

Human Unbreakable Fighter 1 / Invulnerable Rager & Urban Barbarian 19

Ifrit Sorcerer (Primal Elemental Fire Bloodline) 20

Ifrit Sorcerer (Primal Elemental Fire Bloodline) 20

That's not a mistake - two Fire Sorcerer's being played as twins, one male and one female. They double as ad hoc faces with the female specializing in Diplomacy and the male specializing in Intimidate. The thought was that they two of them would make for hell on wheels against anything not overly resistant to fire and when such foes were faced, well then it would be an interesting challenge to overcome.

Silver Crusade

My group is currently part way through the Haunting of Harrowstone. As of now the Inquisitor and Paladin are planning to go straight class. The Summoner/Oracle is taking each for three levels before going Mystic Theurge. The Ranger/Druid is planning at this point to go Green Faith Acolyte for a couple levels and then Lantern Bearer. I have no idea what the Cleric wants to do. The Monk is going to take another level in Monk and two levels in Paladin before going Champion of Irori.

This my current campaigns party:

Female Half-Orc Inquisitor (Vampire Hunter) of Pharasma 2
Male Elf Paladin (Undead Scourge) of Pharasma 2
Male Half-Elf Summoner/Oracle 1/1
Male Elf Ranger/Druid 1/1
Male Cleric of Sarenrae 2
Male Human Monk 2

About to begin Broken Moon. Group consists of:

1. Dwarven Cleric of Iomedae.

2. Human Pally of Iomedae

3. Dhampir Ranger. Her name is Renesmee, and she has a pet wolf named Jacob...yeah I know.....

4. The most interesting character in the group is an "elven" sorcerer. He is in the old age category, and thus has the penalties and benefits associated with it. His back story is basically that in the future he was part of an organization called the Order of the 9 Eyes. They are in search of a 9th school of magic, and thus have been experimenting with some nasty stuff. When experimenting in the future, he was imprisoned in a magical cube. He was able to escape, but his soul was cast out, and he was reincarnated in the body of an elf in the past. He has a particular interest in the Palantine Eye as he believes it to be a precursor to his future organization.

The Exchange

Norval, Dwarf ranger/inquisiter, brewer
Yazmina, Halfling rogue/cleric of cayden
Jamal, Human glaive weilding monk, art collector
Rose, Half orc(though looks human via feat) bard
Shar, Human witch elementalist blaster
Hynrik, human magus, blacksmith

We are roaming about with gypsy vardos and spreading good brew to a depressed people.

Winter- human rogue 4 'information broker', party face
Diara- elven ranger 4, aiming for Arcane Archer (pun intended)
Cloudus- dwarven cleric 4, calls himself the 'healer' and 'protector' but thinking about a fighter level or 2
Balthazar- elven sorcerer 4, anxiously waiting for high level mojo
Tenzin- human ftr 1 monk of many styles 3, snake style + panther style + ftr bonus feats = a big ole can of whuppin
Edric- that me, human 2-handed fighter 2 Inquisitor of Pharasma 2, party tank who cant wait til I get Bane

Its my first RP game in over 10yrs, and we're playing via skype and d20pro so its a pretty big change for me. Lots of fun so far especially considering the group of old friends we've been able to reassemble from all over the country.

We just finished Haunting of Harrowstone last night, ended the session leaving for Lepidstadt.....and Im pretty psyched b/c a bunch of folks pitched in for the 'greater good of the party' with gold and crazy Diplomacy rolls, so Im leaving town wearing the suit of armor from the General Store.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Yes I am GM'ing for a large group 8 players. They have had a few deaths but these are most memorial characters.

Tarkus Finley - Male LN Human Inquisitor 8 (Vampire Hunter) of Pharasma.
Tarkus has been brought up by his family to continue there tradition of hunting vampires. His motto "Protect the family, follow the churches bidding, put all undead to rest". Due to unfortunate incident with a vampire Tarkus brother Gyles was turned and sired. Along with his father Kane, the family were working with Lorrimor to create a cure. He now hunts the Whispering way in the hope one day he will find a cure to free his brother from the blood curse/disorder and remove the taint of the dark cultist from the land.

Ostarian the Dark - Male LE Dwarf Wizard 8 (Necromancy, Undead path), does not worship gods because they are fickle. Uses spells like blood transcribe, create treasure map etc. Plays very similar to Dexter off the TV series Dexter, killing out of need. He was bit by a Vampire (Vessnic of the Night Harrows - See Rival Guide) and has a permanent limp. Is always doing shifty stuff away from the party. He has a defy fear of vampires, and is always eating garlic. He intends to steal the Whispering Ways knowledge for himself.

Ulli Gengari - Male CN Human Ranger 8 (Archery path) of Earastil, Warden of Shudderwood. Ulli is in a relationship with Kavalca Sains daughter Yeselda whom is trying to take over as the new packmaster of Shudderwood with the desth of her mother. To do this he is trying to reclaim Kavalcas heart fo his beloved to claim the throne, continuing the ancient old tradition of consuming the heart. As such Ulli is in a game of tribes situation, trying to promote his beloved interest by making the various tribal leaders kneel before her or face eradication. Ulli is using Ecthelions inquisition to further his own agenda.

Ecthelian Talamar - Male LG Halfling Paladin 8 (Oath against Undeath/Lycanthrope - http://pf-eberron.wikidot.com/archetypes:paladin-oath-against-lycanthropy) of Sarenrae. Ecthelion is leading his own personal crusade to clean up Ustalav. Ecthelians sister (Saera) was given to a demon by his father (Epstien) in order to save his mother (Ilyena). Ecthelion killed his two parents because of there deal with the devil and now seeks his sister. Currently Ecthelion has commanded a few loyal Sarenrae worshipers to conduct werewolf trials (similar to that of the witches in medieval times)in Lepidstadt to clean up the Shudderwoods. Natural werewolves are skinned alive and pacified by holy fire. Infected werewolves are healed. Dark cultist are either killed or sent to the tower of conviction to be rehabilitated. The tower is a asylum/prison for evil practitioners of magic.

Viktor Von'Drakh - Male CN Human Alchemist 8 (Clone Master), does not believe in gods rather the new science. Viktor was a member of the most influential Professors from Lepidstadt University. Alongside him was Montigue Crowl, Gordon Krane, Adivion Adrissant, Petros Lorrimor and Alphon Cormarc. After Lorrimor was cast out of the University Viktor took up Lorrimors old position, with the pupil succeeding the master. Viktor is interested in genetic manipulation and is very eccentric. He intends to unlock the secrets of the Whispering Tyrant as professor of the reclamation of rare antiquities. In particular the Carrion Crown. Viktor worst crime thus far was freeing the beast of Lepidstadt during the trial of the beast riots.

Cassielt - Male LG Aasimar Oracle 8 (Possessed, Heavens) of Iomeade. Cassielt fell from the heavens during Lorrimors funeral. Those at the funeral believed it an ill omen as a white star descended to the ground. It was visible to all those of Ravensgro. Cassielt fell well outside the small town. He made his way into Ravensgro and befriended the heroes. Cassielt is possessed by an ancient being that fought against the Whispering Tyrant more then 1000 years ago. It is only recent Cassielt learnt the beings name Sapael. Sapael has been both a curse and a blessing to Cassielt. Sometimes for days he can posses Cassielt whom looses himself. Both Cassielt and Sapael, fight to protect the great seal from being opened and freeing the Tyrant.

Don Blanco/El Guerreroe Murete - Male LN Half-Giant Monk 6 (Tetori)/Psychic Warrior 2 (Brawling Path) of Pharasma. Taught the art of the Luchador and following La Dama De Las Tumbas (Pharasma the Pale Lady). Without his mask he is known as Don Blanco, a kind hearted man whom is friendly. With his mask he becomes El Guerreroe Murete, a famous wrestler with a mammoth following of fans. Murete is followed around by a Carnivarle, whom carry coffins and make praises to the dead (like Mexican festival day of the dead). As a peoples champion, Murete looks to further his own name and legend (which is similar to Zoro). Murete is frequently visit by Baron Samedi, an Emissary of Pharasma that trades in favours and protector of the Luchador mask. Following Samedi's orders Murete is looking to destroy the Whispering way and tyrant once and for all.

Unit 1 - Male LN Warforge (http://pf-eberron.wikidot.com/races:warforged) Machinesmith (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/3rd-party-classes/louis-porter-jr-design/m achinesmith) 8 (Analyser), a creation that is unaware of the gods existence at this time. A piece of left over technology of the late Professor Petros Lorrimor that was decommissioned and not finished. Unit 1 awoke with instructions to protect Kendra and several other of Petros Lorrimors friends euring the arrival of Ecthelion whom possed the last piece of technology that Lorrimor had asked his halfling friend to collect. Unit 1 like shale from dragon age origins, is slowly developing a personality. Unit 1 continues to follow Lorrimors last order which was to protect the late professors friends on there journey.

Stonecrow of the Tuskmountains - Male CN Half Orc Fighter 8 (Two handed fighter) of Gorum. Saved Lorrimors life once and came to pay his respects. On his own personal pilgramage to kill a creature of note to return to his clan and challenge for leadership of it. Unknown to Stonecrow is that his father Ironcrow and his clan the Blood Moons have fallen under a curse of Lucimar of the Whispering Way. The Worg Lich polluted his tribes water supply aznd along with several other tribes now swear fealty to the Whispering Way. Ironcrow is Lucimars righthand man.

Lady Ambriel - Female NG Aasimar Sorcerer 8 (Celestial Bloodline) of Aroden. A student of Lorrimors, Ambriel is obsessed with the rebith of the human god. She personally holds Pharasma responsible for with-holding Arodens soul which she believes is locked in the Pale Ladies Vault of Souls. After spending years of study at Lepidstadt University she is sure that if she can get ahold of a fragment of yhe shield of Aroden she can locate Arodens soul. As such she is tracking down information regarding the Tyrant and his battle.

The Watcher - Male TN Human Bard (Dirge Bard) of Pharasma. Stories speak of a kindred spirit that when it dies it is reborn again of Golarion. Varisians call the being the Watcher. Stories and folk tales all around Ustalav speak of the watcher. But no-one truely knows his motives, except that he is a legendary bard whom traverses the world sharing his tales. Lorrimor met the Watcher on the road and after sharing a story the watcher promissed to play a ballard at the professors funeral. Over the years Lorrimor had compiled allot of information on the legend of the watvher. Using his departed friends knowledge, the watcher is now on the path to discover the true meaning behind his existance.

Anca Willow - Female NE Changling Witch (Grave walker) of Norgorber. A text subject of Lorrimors for many years Anca through her own research believes there are certain doors or boxes that should only be opened when the time is right. Dark secrets whisper to her in her sleep that the world is not ready for the Tyrants rebirth yet and that she is to destroy or hide any information on how to awaken the tyrant. Before the tyrant awakens a door in the dark tapestry must first be found. Anca voices that speak to her when she dreams. For many years Anca was unsure of her heritage (half hag/human) and Lorrimor vonducted his own research on her.

Just started to GM the adventure on Sunday and so far the party consists of...

Grippli Fighter with Paladin Aspirations.
Aasimar Inquisitor
Half-Elf Ninja
Bard or Sorcerer*
Monk*

* two party members who will be joining at the next game session. I'm planning on just rolling them in as late comers to the funeral. In Game time they will only have missed the funeral by one day so they haven't missed much

The first session went very well and I'm very into this storyline and looking forward to playing it out.

I really hope I can get to playing Carrion Crown (as a player, though I can DM it too if needed), since our party has been more or less decided.

Human Cavalier, will later be a Battle Herald.
Unknown, player might inform later on.
Tiefling Cleric of Pharasma, my character.
Dhampir Inquisitor of Pharasma, possibly Kinslayer archetype.

The two Pharasmin characters are partners, and the Cavalier has been named Sergeant Dornan due to shouting orders and as a reference to an awesome game.

Kinslayer wasn't out when we went through this AP.

But A Return to this AP with a Kinslayer would be oodles of fun.

3 people marked this as a favorite.

Considering getting corny

1. Stoner druid guy with dog animal companion
2. Really dumb blond guy paladin
3. Attractive redheaded female bard
4. Brainy female wizard

are they going to have a carriage they call the "mystery machine?

The Brainy chick should be an inquisitor or a bard detective dont you think?

true, but I've got to have a limit somewhere and not having a full arcane caster is the limit.

How about she's a bard detective, but the pretty one is a sorceress?

yea.... what's the pretty one do.... enchantress/sorceress would work. What about a Witch??

She never does anything directly, physically confrontational... witch or sorceress.

I think the animal companion guy should be a Nature Oracle with the Oracle curse "Wasted" because he's always hungry and cant get enough to eat. Oracle Revelation will give him the dog same as druid.

plus, wasted gives you the character fitting doubled meaning!

OK I'm in. When do we start?

Also, stoner guy gets a -4 save vs. fear effects, but a permanent expeditious retreat spell?

nah, "boots of the coward" (they are a cursed magic item that only gives speed results used to skiddadle!)

Don't give him a -4 vs fear effects, just give him an 8 wisdom (oracles use CHA anyway)

Switch the Paladin to an Inquisitor, so then you have:

Fred the Inquisitor (low Int)
Daphne the Witch
Thelma the Bard Detective
and Shaggy the Nature Oracle.

although thelma WAS the smart one, and Daphne wasn't very bright.... thelma is pretty ugly.... make HER the Witch. Daphne had the good CHA, so maybe bard like you had her then.

Thelma could get some hexes that would help her sleuth.... but Daphne figured out alot things too.....

so maybe

Fred the Inquisitor
Daphne the Detective Bard
Thelma the Witch (scrappy could be her familiar)
And Shaggy the Nature Oracle?

Like, let's bail on this jail!

Scarab Sages

Bit of a slight oriental theme with my party - no idea why though! Two new pathfinder players, must have taken a liking to the alternate oriental classes in UC.

We have:

Neo Wu - Half-elf Samurai
Pyrith Fox - Elf Ninja
Jival - Half-elf Magus
Cristoph - Human Priest (3rd party class, can be found on d20pfsrd)
Marra - Halfing Sorcerer

So far we have had 1 quite short session, introduced each other, did the burial stuff, found the hidden crypt, and when we left off they had just gotten caught.

The current makeup of the group I'm DMing for (every original member save Raknar has died):

Raknar (CE Orc Barbarian 8) - Really the foundation of the group, his RP has been absolutely hilarious and is the core of the group's dynamic, despite his viciousness, savagery and outright evil nature. Lately he's been trying to temper it so that he can take Desna as his mate, after speaking with her through the commune ritual at the Stairs of the Moon.

Mina (CG half-elf Holy Champion of Desna 8) - Holy Champion of Desna is tongue in cheek for CG Paladin, as we re-wrote the class to fit her ethos. She was originally an 8 year old girl that was possessed by a demon she affectionately referred to as Jenny (She was a Summoner. Desna revealed to her that she was possessed and the Demon was keeping her 8 years old forever to keep her pliable. She defeated the Demon in combat and returned as a 24 year old champion of Desna.

Stix (CN gnome Oracle 8) - another homebrewed class, this is sort of a combination of druid and sorcerer. Without going into details, it gives her mostly a charm and nature related spell selection and an animal companion. She's the epitome of a capricious fey creature and the ruler of her own kingdom (literally; the PC came from a half-completed Kingmaker campaign after the player's first PC died).

Mardenu (LE elven invoker 8) - Dedicated to the accumulation of power, he's not nearly as evil as Raknar, but is possessed with a streak of ruthlessness that manifests itself from time to time.

Aiden (LN half-elf fighter 8) - Sometimes questioning just what the hell he's doing with the party, he lives in fear of Raknar, but the pay is good and he's the most mercenary of the PC's.

Gimmelot (?? dwarven priest of Desna 8) - Originally dedicated to the acquisition of wealth, believing that freedom and liberation came through wealth and power, it was revealed that he was actually a priest of Desna who had corrupted her teachings. She came down to set him straight, and he is attempting contrition and readjusting his beliefs. It's been a difficult process for him, and so his alignment is no longer set, as he struggles through the process.

We're wrapping up the first book now, taken out all the ghost of Harrowstone and mopping up the odds and ends in Ravengro. The party is mostly women which gives the game a very different flavor than it would have otherwise. (Its two men and two women players, one of guys is playing the female elf alchemist)

Talistra (CG Female Elf Alchemist (Preservationist/Vivisectionist)- An elven outcast who lived in Galt for a number of years. She printed pamphlets beseeching the conservative community to let her magically experiment on animals to learn the inner secrets of nature and life. After she caught the eye of the Galtan revolutionaries they deemed her an enemy of the state and cause and a warrant was sent out for her arrest. She met the professor when he was traveling the country, studying it's unique fauna when he heard that a fellow intellectual was going to victimized by the ignorant masses. He beat the Galtan revolutionaries to Talistra's flat and whisked her from the country. Only a few years later, Talistra received a letter from his estate saying that he'd named her in his will. She left her private laboratory and set out for Ustalav.

Alivia Fey (NG Female Human Witch Patron-Enchantment)- A local shop owner in a neighboring hamlet of Ravengro. Alivia grew up knowing the professor through her mother, who sold him potions and magical ingredients and taught Alivia the secrets of Enchantment. When her mother died, Alivia inherited her shop and continued business with the professor and expanded her business to his colleagues. She was surprised however that this relationship led him to leave her in his will.

Bromil (LN Male Elf Magus)- An Elf who had recently defected from the Kyonin border patrol. The group of soldiers he was stationed with were ambushed while patrolling the forest by the Demon Lord Treerazer. The demons devastated the unit, mercilessly slaughtering the entire group. Bromil barely escaped with his life and wandered aimlessly for daysuntil he came upon a human being attacked by bandits. Despite his injuries, Bromil drove the thugs off. The human revealed himself to be a arcanist and healer of some respect and healed Bromil.

Nevra Canazle (NG Ifrit Oracle Mystery- Flame, Curse- Blindness) Nevra had a fairly normal childhood with her parents in the wealthy district of Absalom. She was a skilled lute player and would often attend parties and serenade her friends and guest, she seemed destined to a life of music and pleasantry, but all that came to an end on her 15th birthday. As she walked alone to her home through the dark city streets a massive fire elemental appeared before her, shining brilliantly. It was the last thing she ever saw as the fire transformed her, closing her eyes but opening her mind to the mysteries of the flame. She met the professor when he heard of her encounter and asked if he could study its effects on her. She let him and they've kept contact in the years since.

At the end of each session I want to yell out "Fox Force Four!"

I feel empathy for your party in book 2.

Book 2 stuff:
Especially all the completely-immune-to-magic flesh golems that keep popping up. At least they can definitely keep them slowed down, but you're a bit short of bashing/slashing types, heh.

in the Party im dming:

all humans with gestalt rules

- 3th lvl Clr/Monk of Iomedae
- 2nd lvl Alchemist/Fighter of Gorum
- 2nd lvl Ranger/Rogue (Archery) of Erastil
- 2nd lvl Druid-Ranger (2-wf) of Gozreh

as npc´s are
-Cassius 2nd lvl Rogue/Bard

before the adventure i manage the setting to play the background allowing the pc´s use guards from harrowstone prision 50 years after. they has to take down all the five prisioners with those characters, using the npc´s from gmg (u can see my thread here in carrion crown "precuel and adventures for carrion crown")

we are at one night session to finish the HoH path, then we´re gonna play Carrion hill module, and then TotB, between this one, we gonna play "The midnight mauler" (society scenario) #3-16

at the end of any one of the 6ap, they will reach 1 mythic tier (under other therms)

implanning to Kendra Lorrimor join the party as permanent npc in the party. and we will use the caravan rules from jade regent

We just started the second installment of this awesome AP and so far, as a player, I'm having a blast!

We started with only 3 players, which are:

Szordrin Hyluan (me), elven alchemist.
Background: During his first excursion in Ustalav, Szordrin was saved by the professor after being almost killed during a werewolf attack against a small village. Since the professor used belladonna to cure him from lycanthropy, Szordrin became fascinated by the properties of plants and other alchemical components. He also learned a few things about arcane magic under the tutelage of the late professor.

Farol Mytif, human wizard (evoker).
Background: Farol was the professor's pupil and he swores to pursue the late professor's works.

Boram the Ranger, human ranger.
Background: Boram is not very talkative and little is known about his past.

However, after having our asses kicked in Harrowstone and forced to flee (this was bound to happen), we recruited 3 new PCs to help us in our quest:

Captain Mallock (yes, it comes from Captain Haddock), human magus.
Background: The oldest human member of the group, he was a close friend of the professor. Mallock used to own a ship with a entire crew, but due to events he doesn't want to speak about for now, he lost everything he had except his love for whores and ale.

Amrock, ''human'' cleric of Cayden Cailean.
Background: Although Amorck looks exactly like an half-orc (he has a Charisma score of 7), he claims to be a pure-blooded human and becomes very upset everytime someone suggests that he may have orc ancestors. His ties with the late professor are not known to the other members of the party, except maybe for Mallock, who traveled with him a lot.

???, half-elven ranger.
Background: we just met this lady who is bound to help us in our current quest. We don't know much about her yet.

She came down to set him straight, and he is attempting...

How do you keep getting these guys killed?! :D

So we just started Book 1 Haunting of HarrowStone
My group consists of the following:

- Aiden: Sanctifed Rouge, Human Male
- Hecate: Oracle of Life, Damphir Male
- Rosenthall: Sythisest Summoner, Aasimar Male
- Dredd: Inquisiter of Phrasma, Half-Orc Male
- Arthima: Barbarian, Human Female
- Shilt: Gunsligner Musket master, Catfolk

Enjoy your lol's.

As long as your half orc says "I AM THE LAW" once per session, I'm good with it

He orignaly wanted to play a paladin of Pharasma, but of course becasueof alignment problems i couldn't allow it. I actually sugested he be a paladin of Abadar if he wanted to be a true "Judge Dredd," but he woldn't have it. I think I will be making a Paladin with levels of Justicar though for the enxt campaign I play in.

As I get backgrounds and they level i will return and modify the inital post.

Davros Virholt/Dagger Dave: Dhampir Rogue running a long con where he pretended to be a long lost member of the Virholt dynasty. What could go wrong?
Lev: Dhampir Fighter/Barbarian who pretends to be a barely educated savage from the far north. (Yep, Barbarian with high Disguise)
Gell: Half-elf Summoner who has hidden her elven ancestry well in the intolerant human lands.
Cat: Gell's Eidolon - a Mountain lion - who through a series of amusing rolls is considered by most NPCs to be the secret leader of the party.
Akatsura: Zen Archer of Tien extraction who recently joined the party after Rhalic left. Akatsura hides his infernal ancestry well - though not so well as his sister, Mr Dave's new "business partner".

Rhalic: In a party where everyone hid who they were, Rhalic (an Inquisitor) led a straightforward, simple life. He fell in love with a Changeling Witch I added to book 1 after completely missing the fact the bad things happening to the people who were mean to her weren't coincidence, and accidentally putting his life on the line to redeem her. The NG inquisitor and his CE fiancée left the group in Leipstadt to go back to Rhalic's family and get married. Yes she would ping to his detect evil if he ever used it on her - but why would he do that?

Best moment came from an encounter I added (from suggestions on the board) in Ravengro.

Davros: Yes Sherrif, I did stab her in the heart, twice, but she was a Dark Cultist you see...
Rhalic: Yeah - there's a secret room with dead bodies and a dark altar to Urgathoa downstairs.
Lynch mob goes to investigate.
Davros to Rhalic: Well done.
Rgalic: Huh?
Davros: Wait - she actually was a cultist?

Liberty's Edge

My group will be starting Carrion Crown next week and the party shall consist of:

Female NG Human Cleric of Pharasma
Female CN Half-Orc Barbarian
Male CN Gnome Sorcerer (Abyssal Bloodline)
Male N Half-Elf Druid
Female CG Human Rogue

I hope the rogue is the paranoid type. The combination is somewhat useful in book 2. My players manage the paranoid bit in spades, but since none of them are also rogues... well, lets just say, they walk carefully and try not to stand too close to doors.

Liberty's Edge

Actually, the rogue's player decided to double up on archetypes with scout and knife master, so no trapfinding. >:D

Poor party. Might want to add a bit of fear by asking that each figure out their alternative character choice as well. For the certain eventuality of death.

Liberty's Edge

I'll be recommending the Trap Spotter rogue talent to her.

Just started running Haunting of Harrowstone for my group of players (all male):

LG Human Paladin of Iomedae
NG Human Cleric of Pharasma
NG Human Inquisitor of Pharasma
NG Human Fighter
CG Human Evoker

My group just got started with Carrion Crown this week. And the group is...

Alin Anvindr - TN Human Cleric of Pharasma from Ustalav
Anton Drogus - LG Human Paladin of Iomadae from Ustalav
Aquila Nero - CN Human Bard (Archeologist) from Absalom
Carmelizzia Mondragon - CN Changeling Rogue (going Master Spy) from Ustalav
Malpheon Vortello - TN Dhampir Sorcerer from Ustalav

It's going well so far, though they do lack a bit in melee might. The paladin doesn't have the best stats, and the cleric is designed more for channeling and casting. We're really enjoying the RP heavy beginning of the campaign, though.
