Possible Bachelor / Bachelorette Party One-Session Game

Advice

So I'll be getting married in about a month and I'm trying to persuade a friend of mine to run a one-session game for a possible joint bachelor/bachelorette party. (Most of our friends are gamers.) Anyway, I've been telling said friend that I totally want an all-goblin all-bard game, but that's mostly just me messing with him. I'm actually looking for suggestions, though, as for what kind of game to get him to run. Things that can be played while drunk may be helpful.

I'm the groom, and I'm a little scared now. :)

Maybe this seems a little obvious, but how about an in-game bachelor/bachelorette party for two PCs about to get hitched. The rest of the PCs spend more than a small fortune for entertaining knowing that the only thing adventurers like more than sexy parties is danger. I can just see the groom PC talking to the best man,

Groom - "Wait, was that succubus last night supposed to be a stripper or a fight?"
Best Man - "Honestly, I don't even remember any more."
G - "Well, what about that centaur?"
BM - "For your wife? Oh, definitely a stripper. I mean, why else would a centaur show up wearing nothing but a black tie."
G - "So......"
BM - "Oh, I would have totally hit him with that fireball, too."

Problem is, you'll need to find strippers and hookers that also are into gaming, or can dm.

I'd go with the all goblin party. The more drunk you are, probably the better you are at playing a goblin. :-)

idea:
make 2 groups (goblin only), males, females (as bachelor/ette parties are often seperate).
Make it about a group of purely male/female goblin seeking mating partners. Like raiding another camp and hitting the partner over the head with a big club and pulling them into your cave by their hair.

Then at the end lead the two parties together in a "friendly" fight.

And as wspatterson said, the more drunk you are, the easier it will get to play a goblin right.

Make them rob a bank. Just cause.

Make them rob a farm. All the goodies of a henhouse, pigpen, and dairy cow. The great evils of horses, Old McDonald's pitchfork, and that horrible barnyard dog. ARRRRRRGHH!!!!!!!

How many people are we talking about here?

My friend did this for my bachelor party a few months back. He ran a Call of Cthulhu game based on "The Hangover". We all woke up in a Vegas hotel room not remembering the night before, and missing the groom. One guy woke up in the bathroom covered in blood. Another woke up with a ritual knife.

In the end we found the groom was trapped in another dimension after we had performed some strange ritual after gambling with "the man in black". It was a great game.

I would vote for the game Orc!
Loved that game...

Anywhere from five to fifteen people, depending who can come and such. Probably closer to the lower end of the scale.

I recommend using succubi. It is the perfect situation for them, and they will all kick themselves for not seeing it coming...

I know of a few in Indianapolis, if you happen to be in the area:)

When one of my gaming buddies got married, we put together a D&D "scavenger hunt" - we gave him a list of "quests" that he had to complete, all written to make the mundane stuff (taking certain drinks, trying to get someone's phone number, armwrestling someone, etc) sound like quests. Part of the fun was having him try and decipher the language to figure out what the right task was. For example, we had "quaff a potion of firebreathing" and he had to figure out what that meant - drink some Tobasco? Take a flaming shot? Etc.

Scarab Sages

Ok i did this (human's though) not too long ago gnomes claimed to have a gift for the bride (or her future offspring due to a vision of the child's future) then chloroformed the bride (performed a rite to lamashtu (dancing and singing naked over the body whilst spraying it with unholy water (ala wet tee shirt) before dumping the body with a note and toy explaining what just went down ( a strange toy for any babes the pair have).

part 2 finding the gnomes (they are known but where do they live...? you find NPC who offers the PC's the info they need but only if they can beat him in a game of strip poker... if they do they get the info.

Part three crashing the gnome's house to find that they are really part of a strippers association and since the groomsman didn't pay for the previous nights activities they enacted the rite. To get the curse removed the wedding party will have to ---------- (strip for the next bach/bachelorette party perform check) or whatever, insert deed here... the act used wasn't PG13 sooo use your imagination.

I like the goblin farm concept too perhaps to get the blessings of the goblin shaman the wedding party must bring her the farmers prize chicken? (they are hard to catch by hand you know). Doing so without waking the farm, it's dogs, horses and farmer's will be difficult especially when there are so many things that can burn... With so many things burning will the goblins loose sight of their goal, will they burn the chicken, themselves, or will the farmer end the union with a well placed pitchfork..
Hmm I quite like this.

See the goblins comic for more inspiration (i love it)

I know, right?! I have been thinking of this most of the day. I NEVER run monster runs, but this seems like a perfect one shot for pure comic fun. Toss in rewards for best goblin song, best goblin death, best goblin kill, best burn, best whatever....

This is like the best of Paranoia and D&D combined. Definitely would just have everyone make three or more of the buggers. As different ones die off, they take over another. Heck, just getting to the farm could be oodles of fun.

Sadly, we're in California.

Honestly,
If you're going to game and drink, the only game you should really consider is 'Paranoia'.

I suggest to stay with the bachelor/bachelorette theme, have the computer be sending some employees to deal with a rogue novelty sex toy production facility that's decided to rebel against the main computer and is trying to set itself up as the insane main computer.

I imagine there could be some interesting traps set up by said rebel computer. :)

Alternatively, you could play in a game that takes place during a Bachelor/Bachelorette party in Golarion. The bride and groom to be take on the roles of such characters in the ceremony, while the others take the role of various bridal party members.

A few plot points that could be used:

• Either the groom or bride is of Elven lineage and are given a special boon for the evening as a gift from the Elven Court. However, this boon works in mysterious ways and they must survive the night by relying on the help of friends, family, and, especially, each other.

• A jealous ex-suitor to either the bride or groom has replaced one of the ceremonial items (i.e. Wedding Rings) with a cursed item. Now, the bride and groom must band together to find this former lover and break the curse before their big day.

• As the party gears up a notch, a pair of thieves sneak in and steal the wedding rings! Now the party moves around the town as they chase the thieves through the ins and outs of the city, attempting to reclaim rings.

• In an attempt to gain some favor, the bride or groom decides to go on a quest to find a rare and special gift. However, what was originally a noble gesture turns into a quest that brings in not only their closest friends, but their soon-to-be husband/wife!

Hope these help, and congrats on the upcoming nuptials ... may you always be happy :)

Hmmm...

Zombie Apocalypse, all the way.

Bride & Groom have last bash before the nuptials (separately, of course, but in the same village/town/etc), but wouldn't you know it, Skeletor decides to crash the party.

With an army of the living dead.

Then, the whole night becomes a fast-paced, fun romp through zombie slaying & citizen saving.

Do the bride & groom manage to get back together?

Will the best man be eaten by the undead?

What will happen to their security deposit?

Play it fast, loose, and fun, sort of like "Shawn of the Dead" or the "Left 4 Dead"/"Dead Rising" video games.

Also make sure Bruce Campbell gets a cameo in there somehow.

Agreed. Just replace a few key NPC's with PC's.
