Party survived venturing through the abandoned mine, fight with a pair of fungosaurs rex specimens (flame drakes with fungal creature template), meeting with deep gnomes, meeting with drow mistress and her family that happened to be much more talkative and less combative than the party expected (but the bard despite her great interest was not allowed to respond to their hostess subtle advances and sleep with her), avoided fighting with half-demon daughter of the said drow mistress, and left the mine without finding all the information about supposedly not-quite vanquished ducal line.

When they were leaving they were confronted by a cavalier in the service of the claimant to the throne of the city with entourage of two stone giants and a few acolytes of Bane. The cavalier being man of honor and having a degree of respect to the party's paladin offered to accept the party's surrender... To my surprise the party was quite seriously considering the surrender - I had the bard make a Knowledge check to make them know that the two stone giants and the cavalier weren't an unbeatable challenge like they fought they might be. They defeated the opposition without own loses, though the ranger who was fighting the giant was near death and would fall if not for a healing or two from the witch. They managed to capture the cavalier alive when he dropped to -2 or so, and surprisingly decided to release him for a promise of ransom and even allowed him to keep his +1 flaming longsword after he revealed the command word for the flaming property that hinted that it is a family sword (because it contained his surname).

Falaya The Bard wanted to get naked with the drow mistress very much but the party warned her that they will leave her in the drow abode and go away and she will have to get back on her own... And their hostess wasn't afraid to admit that her hospitality can end at anytime and she is not above taking advantage of the party weakness. This also happened to discourage the party from going to the tunnel leading into actual Underdark, guarded by the drow mistress rogue renegade half-demon daughter. They would have to go back the same way passing the drow wounded, weakened and probably out of spells... And the most of the party was sure that the drow could not resist attacking them then (which the drow mistress openly admitted to be tempting possibility).

Now if the Lombards would just get in serious trouble so I can make it worse by sweeping in and making good on my de jure claim on Nice.

No! I captured Nice once for my former allies Spain in their pointless, costly, and ultimately lost war with France over Navarre. I won't be capturing it again for Scandinavia!

You guys realize that by fighting over France you're only encouraging their delusional superiority :-)

There was nothing delusional about that 63 thousand strong army waltzing over my 20-odd thousand army and comparable Spanish forces. I just hope that that war was bigger hit to French, Netherlander, and whoever else was in that defensive alliance purses than to mine.

I stand corrected, I guess that's a lesson on what would happen if the french put down the bottle of wine and weaponize it's Porcelain and escargot :-)

Late XVI. We are not speaking about frog and slug eaters, wine and cheese connoisseur. We are talking about people that slaughtered hundreds of thousands of their own kinsmen just for telling their prayers in French instead of Latin.

Also I just this page realized you guys were talking games you need to come up with appropriate aliases.

Congrats, I know when I proposed to my wife, we'd been living together and dating for 2 years, plus we dated in high school 6 years previous, so I pretty much knew she'd say yes.

It was still one of the scariest, longest 2-4 seconds of my life :-)

We're very happy for both you and John, couldn't have happened to nicer people :-)

Lovecraft was right.

I don't get it...

To be honest I didn't click on it, I just assume it's either about Donald Trump's hair gaining sentience and starts rampaging in Manhattan or all the Xbox One's have started to mobilize.

I can't wait until I can use the computer later to see how close I am (I'm usually not that close, most of my conspiracy theories are fairly... outlandish)

One could think that Paizo sent a squad of assassin-ninjas that forced all those complainers to buy their things against their will and threatened to execute their families, neighbors, and passersby if they fail to buy every new product or stray a hair width of using it exactly as written...

Mine was in Central Park. Yours was atop the Empire State Building. Either way, NYC is the place to propose!

I proposed in our dark cockroach infested apartment, we got married on a hot ass day at my wife's parents house in New Glarus, our honeymoon was a 2 month, 5,500+ mile journey of love all across the west coast and Rockies :-)

Tomorrow is our 14 year anniversary, every minute better than the last :-)

The toughest part about all of this is the way I come across. I am such a mellow, even person, so when I tell people I got engaged they say, "You don't seem excited."

This is my excited face. Life is hard when you're an introvert.

Of course when you start out in a dark cockroach infested apartment, it can only go up :-)

We also had a squirrel that would winter in our window sill by the old school heater thingy

A friend of mine proposed to his (now) wife in front of a dumpster at a construction site.

I proposed to my bride on my birthday. I said something to the effect of "You know what would really make my birthday, If you would marry me" I was nervous as hell and sputtered through it.
