My nudity clearly has me leaning towards the latter. If the latter is on the left, that is.

We were showing pictures of ourselves earlier. Here's me (with my just-purchased hat) around last Christmas in Lisbon.

It's worth noting that I'm exhausted enough that I misread (via dyslexia) nearly every word of your link here when attempting my "fast read" (I usually read things three or four times really quickly before scanning them a little more slowly). Man, it looked like that link was going to be so very dirty.

If you care to see my dirtiest mind revealed!:
"We were showing ourselves" - Not too bad, but when taken in the context below...

"me (with just my hat" - Uh... wait, what? *scans the last part* Whaaaa~?

"in Lesbian" - Wait, what? I'm pretty sure that's not how that works!

It took me two or three skim-throughs to shake the above ideas. I was so confused.

Longsword related injury to wrist means one of my favourite activities has been somewhat curtailed.

Fencing, you filthy beasts. I have a lot of sabre practice lined up tomorrow and will probably have to do it left handed (I'm not helping, am I?), which will probably result in something else getting knackered up. Maybe the house, maybe me. This sort of thing happens a lot, which means that I'm also investing in some up-to-the-job protective equipment, with a full-body prophylactic at the top of the list.

Random updates for random people:

- Problem player showed up on Wednesday afternoon, I explained that due to previous issues I was going to be an "unrelenting GM", and then made a pointed comment making it clear that I was thinking of him in particular. He took the point, and said that as long as I applied discipline evenly, he'd be OK with it. I considered the conversation a win.

- For CotCT, problem player wants to be nobility (surprise, surprise). I let him be a Jeggare, figuring I'm going to trash the city anyway, and made him take "Rich Parents", "Knowledge: Nobility", "Knowledge: Local", and "Diplomacy" in return. For once, he agreed to pay the points for his nobility. Again, I considered this a win.

- Of course, his next action was to ask, "Where in Korvosa do I live?", I replied, "Pick somewhere," and he seized a good square mile of territory that the Jeggares "own or control" and sent me a list of the relatives between him and the fortune. I responded, "No. In every game you ask to be nobility. In every game you ask to own huge swaths of land and be close to vast amounts of money. No. This is not open to negotiation. I will not spend the time nor the effort to work out or even OK an intricate network of family ties for you so you can plan your inheritance."
We'll see how he responds to that.

"Man, Ys! I have 200,000 SP, and it's only taken almost all of my playtime to date to do so*! That's practically half of the 500,000 SP I need for getting the Speed Increase! I'll just grind some more... not because I feel a compulsive need to get 100% of all enemy stats in my book or anything, no. I just need to get to that 500k mark. That's all. I can quit any time I want*!"

* Varying amounts of misinformation may be within these sentences somewhere.

EDIT: "I mean, I might as well get 100% info on all enemies by grinding them while I'm doing this*. It's not really faster or anything to grind exclusively on the higher level enemies*."

This is why I'd spent the last ten years before the adventure started at paladin school, and why my stepdad's fiefdom was in a mostly creepy forest, and why my mother's influence is mostly in another country, and why I left it open how much influence my dad the court-bard has with the queen.

I have never heard of the musician name Leadbelly until the Smithsonian channel aired a biography about him. Very interesting. Having said that, I HAVE heard some of his music before.

Skyrim is really starting to bug the s!#$ out of me. Need to take a break. The question is, should I bite the bullet and spend $50 I don't have on a copy of Dragon Age: Inquisition, or just play through Mass Effect 1-3 again?

Well, that's depressing... Last year's tax return was around $400. This year, it's $48.50.

What kind of money?

Or you could play Fallout New Vegas. Your frustrations with Skyrim will vanish due to the rage induced by such a buggy game. GRANTED it is one of my favorite games, but it is VERY buggy.

If you do play FO - NV, then I will understand if you cancel our friendship due to multiple game induced rage quits. ~GRINS~

My main issues with Skyrim aren't the bugs, honestly. It's the fact that it's g%@%#~n repetitive as hell. All the dungeons are the same: a big hallway filled with the same annoying enemies. NPCs are one-dimensional, and your companions feel like cardboard cutouts (at least when compared to Bioware games). As much as I enjoy the absolutely top-notch art direction and solid gameplay, I just can't make an emotional connection. It just kind of feels like I'm playing in a D&D game with a bunch of boring strangers.

Drunk brainstorming idea #45: Jurassic Park 4 should be rebranded as Jurassic Parks And Recreation to better capitalize on Chris Pratt's stardom. Follow-up film: Jurassic Park 5: Johnny Karate's Super Awesome Musical Explosion Raptor Training Show: Electric Boogaloo: The Reckoning.

So, uh... did I somehow break Ys: Origins, or is there just no dialogue or any sort of a scene or anything after I beat the Konsclard Sandworm? 'Cause it really feels like there should be dialogue or a scene. Hugo even gets the exclamation points over his head! Twice! And there's this whole empty room!

... but no dialogue. Wwwwwhhhhyyyyy...?

I've taken a deeper look at Bloodborne's lore lately, and I find myself impressed once more.

Now if only I had more chances to actually play the game. I have at least three character ideas I want to try out!

I can't wait until a game developer manages to pick the best features of Skyrim (customization, open world, the "sandbox") and couples it with the best features of Dragon Age (NPC depth, compelling narratives).
