What is your current party made up of?

Gamer Life General Discussion

in your primary group (or any other that you join) what is your party made up of.

fluff is optional, the main things i am looking for are race, class, a rough description of build and tactics and key notes. you need not post a build if you do not know it, just what type of build that character is in an understanable term.

here is my saturday party with weekly william the slowly evolving grognard. (all pcs are 6th level) expect any 3.5. classes to be just like thier 3.5 counterparts but with a roughly pathfinderized skill list, any folded skills benefit from the whole skill (warlocks having acrobatics) and skills like concentration/binding/truenaming turned into level checks.

Female Human (Tian) Inquisitor of Zon Kuthon, Melee build, uses 3.5 version of spiked chain combined with outflank and gang up. was a swordsage before certain events required me to remake her. (a religious experience combined with DM plot Fiat and a certain location) the main damage dealer of the party and she is one of the only "Little Girls" to make the prince of Ustalav Soil Himself in fear without any active effort. she is the youngest party member at the age of 17. though she looks closer to 12 due to her slight build, soft features and taste for loose fitting black winter weight furisode kimonos that feature minor elements of Gothic Lolita, Kuro Lolita and Wa Lolita fashion. if i hadn't proposed remaking her as an inquisitor of Zon-Kuthon, DM would have Remade her as a Chaotic Evil NPC cleric of Lamashtu.

Female Dwarven Duskblade/blood magus, Goes for dwarven waraxe and heavy shield, has died multiple times and just had to multiclass blood magus. died on purpose just to become one, player knows that the combination has no synergy whatsoever and plays it anyway, even to the DM's dislike. daughter of the city guard captain

Female Illumian Binder/Focused Transmuter/Anima Mage, banned schools are evocation, necromancy, and enchantment, somehow able to cast 3rd level spells and bind 3rd level vestiges. at a character level of 6. trivializes encounters through save or massively be screweds (such as slow or web) the party leader by the player's sheer force of personality (character has some too) noble of high political influence

Venerable Male Human (Vudrani) Psionicist (Nomad) of Irori. uses a lot of astral constructs and battlefield control. will eventually pick up utility spells and minmaxed his intellegence (int 26 at level 6)

Male 1/2 Elf Switch Hitter Ranger/Rogue (roughly a 50/50 split). Due to DM misinterpretation of elven blood, this guy got free poficiency in the elven curveblade. frequently swaps between that and a longbow as needed. abandoned an arranged marriage and abandoned his own family

Male Dwarven Axe and Board Fighter. Dwarven Waraxe and Heavy Shield. Wears plate. overinvested in strength and constitution to the detriment of his other stats. his will saves are the second lowest, lowest going to the switch hitter. character is a former pimp and succeeded in pimping a goat.

Male Human (Varisian) Sorcerer (Aberrant), picks up a lot of damage dealing spells and rolls poorly every time. he is the one sorcerer who can fail to land a touch attack on the clumsiest of collossal dragons. relative of an influential merchant family, knows where to find good deals.

Male Human (Tian) Cleric of Irori. Serves as the party's moral conscience, has 50/50 chance of absence, forgets he can use his spells too and constantly creates blast runes that deal highly inneffective damage. he has yet to scribe scrolls. has the healing and rune domains. has positive numbers in every attribute and no true dump stat. loves his Hanbo too. he thanks me for helping him design his character at 1st level. grew up at the same monastery as the inquisitor and the psionicist. the inquisitor was the only one of the 3 to fall from grace.

and the temporary party guest

A male Human (Ethnicity unknown) Archery Ranger. he was a former member of the group before he had to move, he is back for a week or few before he has to move elsewhere again. he doesn't even realize that he can deadly aim for extra damage. he pretty much hits everything automatically and is effectively unhindered by cover due to his seeking composite longbow.

Grand Lodge

Pathfinder Adventure, Rulebook Subscriber

Amras Lindenwood, Elven Courtblade Fighter 9. Generally Power Attacks enemies to dust and botches social rolls and saves vs death.

Julian Drakescale, Draconic Changling Druid 7/ Warshaper 2. Alternates magical artillery and shapeshifted combat, and scouting outside combat.

Lyra, Half-Elven Archer Ranger 9. Ranged support and local lore expert.

Qaiam, Ghaele Eladrin 9 (Savage Species). Primary healer and support caster.

Ti'al, Catfolk Monk 6/ Tattooed Monk 3. Grapplemancer and frontline fighter.

Zokaze, Lizardfolk Warlock 9. Secondary ranged support and melee combatant. Also tends to be the detective of the group, piecing together clues to get a whole picture.

Holy crap that is a lot of players! 9 I think? Our group is pretty small right now. The characters all started out as slave gladiators to the Temple of Lallath a LN goddess of Civilization (home brew of course). All of them are Drow now due to plot line but this is what they were before:

Male Elf Cleric (Crafter Greenleaf): Positive energy channeling, craft magical arms and armor, brew potion, craft wand, craft wondrous item. Domains: Fire and Healing. He has had a mental/spiritual break down after finding out that Lallath was just a front for a certain CE Drow related goddess and that he and everyone else in the party are divinely marked champions of said evil goddess.

Male Halfling Rogue (Quig the Quick): dual wielding shocking daggers, wand of fireball, focused on use magic device, disable device, perception, and sneak. Very spunky yet pessimistic, and a bit of a dare devil. He was convinced they would never be free men and that they would be sacrificed on the evil goddess's alter. He is coping with how wrong he was and the now "impossible" task set before them.

Female Human Fighter (Ted Vicious) : Great sword and long bow, full plate. Power attack, cleave, improved critical, point blank, and precise shot. Ted of few words and many battle scars, but when she does speak its either to antagonize Quig, pop a joke (usually sexual in nature), or to ask "can we kill it now" or to declare "its dead now." She is along for the ride as long as it includes killing things, treasure, and good looking men. (and yes she is played by a female player, believe it or not)

They are all 9th level. No multi classing , no class alternatives, just a straight fighter, rogue, and cleric. Yes we mix genres, pantheons, settings, and content, but we use PF rules.

my saturday DM allows all the 3.5. stuff case by case but doesn't bother to adapt it beyond class skill lists. we normally have 8 players, but we have a 9th guest player temporarily.

i will say that with my saturday group, combat takes forever. turns take forever, and most of the group either conveniently forgets to add thier bonuses properly, they don't plan ahead due to the sheer amount of players, the DM has to increase the opposition and change treasure accordingly. the party has to stretch it's limited healing and buffs even farther. most encounters are either social encounters or special challenges targeted towards specific players at a time, such as the various sessions of the Lady Mandrake Social Hour.

The Lady Mandrake Social Hour is usually an extended perios of time where the party Anima Mage engages in long periods of roleplay with the DM and gets huge amounts of spotlight. making all these deals that she claims are contingencies to help the party. combat is conveniently avoided during this period of time as are all other encounters and the party never seems to split unless they are within the walls of the same city. the Lady Mandrake Social hour supersedes all shopping time and takes forever.

saturday january 8th 2011, we had the Lady Mandrake Chess Hour. the DM pulled mass combat rules out of his hat and most of them were built around things the anima mage greatly excelled at.

in other words, to properly challenge the party, the dm feels like he has to tailor his encounters towards the anima mage. but lady mandrake is like the perfect support classed leader. buffs, debuffs, utility spells and battlefield control. through both wizard spells and binder vestiges.

Teehee you have one of those "Table Divas". I have played in large groups before and they can be tough to handle. Some nights our little group gets through 2 combats and sometimes 4. Depends on how much they role play. In previous games with with a 4-5 person group we would even spend whole sessions doing nothing but role play, skill checks, and strategizing. Granted we play in 8-10hr long sessions once a week.

I'm the GM. The party I run is... (the character class breakdowns may not be quite right)

Kieren Thornblade, master archer and hero of the Haven Rebellion. (CG Elf (with drow heritage but mechanically just an elf) Ranger 9/Wizard7/Arcane Archer 2)

Morag the Gatherer of Souls (but we call her "Tiffany" ((*ducks and runs from Lathiira*)), a PF conversion of Cloistered Cleric 10, Contemplative 8? NG Human.

Axel of Newhon Rover Clan, quartermaster and master of commerce of Merrywell Manor, hero of the Second Chancers of Haven, CG halfling fighter 2/rogue 10/shadowdancer 6

Dheza do Besal, mighty scion of the Mage House Besal (and loved by ALL the ladies. And some of the gentlemen), TN human fighter 1, arcane sorcerer 7, eldritch knight 10.

1) You, as GM, can refer to my character however you like. The others, however, are a different story. And Tiffany is better than 'crazy old bat' or whatever it was the Rovers called me.

2) Morag does NOT love Dheza. That means either your premise is false or she's not a lady. I'm voting on number 2.

3) Level breakdown is correct for me.

Liberty's Edge

Hm, I normally run things somewhat closer to the vest but in the current campaign I just started in person there is a good reason for some of the odder adventurers from all over Golarion to come together, so I let the players go wild.

As a result, I got 2 fairly standard characters and 4 oddities.

The two 'normals' are both human fighters, one focusing on archery and the other with a bastard sword.

After that we have:

Tiefling Sorceror(dragon bloodline) going into dragon disciple.

Dhampir Rogue, going assassin.

Sylph Oracle of Lore

Drow Alchemist.

All are currently first level after just one session so far, but I'll be taking them all the way to 20 with this campaign.

We're about six months into a homebrew campaign. This particular campaign is probably our longest running one in a decade so some of the players made their usual classes so they could finally see how they played out for more than the occasional one-shot. So far they are pretty standard Core classes. One thing I started in this campaign is that I award them a small "power" based on how they develop their character. All of them are 7th level.

1/2 elf ranger/wizard- Specializes in the bow. Finally have taking more archery feats and leveling up, he can finally hit stuff. He just took his first level of wizard so be can become an arcane archer. Believes himself more elf than human. Zen archery (before the APG came out)- once per day as a full round action he can shoot one arrow with a +20 bonus.

1/2 elf rogue- Specializes in finding traps. With the rogue talents and skill focus, pretty much detects any trap I put in the dungeon. And if does happen to trigger it, his high reflex save and evasion usually mean he doesn't take any damage. Enjoys sneak attacks so he his study of critical anatomy grants him a +2 bonus to confirm crits.

1/2 orc barbarian/sorcerer- crazy orc barbarian. Makes frequent use of his animal fury bite attack in rage. In one adventure, his bite killed a troll, an ogre, a hobgoblin, and a goblin dog (which caused him to get diseased, but oh well). Also took out a kyton and evil dryad with the bite. The gods smiled on this and his bite attack now bypasses magic damage reduction.

human monk/cleric- From my unmapped oriental lands, this monk has arrived in the city to seek retribution for the destruction of his monastery. When he wanted to be come a cleric, I let him be taken in by tengu clerics of Kelemvor (FR god of the dead). Likes to grapple. Even grappled the half-fiend minotaur on lvl 2. Kelemvor hates undead and so this monk can ghost touch his melee attacks a number of rounds per day plus his wisdom modifier.

human cleric of Erastil- this player doesn't play as often and usually forgets what it is a cleric does, heal and buff the party. But not his fault; we're just new to Pathfinder.

Tactics: Barbarian charges, ranger shoots it, thief sneak attacks it and monk grapples it. Usually all in the same round. And as the monster beats down on the barbarian, the cleric pumps him up with healing bursts.

My challenge is trying to create better encounters that will challenge them tactically. Single foes get dropped pretty quickly (even if they are higher challenge ratings). I did have fun with the kyton; she had more staying power but didn't seriously threaten them. Even inserting wizards is difficult as the very mobile monk and rogue are not shy using tumble checks and taking attacks of opportunity to take them out.

The party I GM for kingmaker has been posted before, I think. The Serpent Skull party where I am a player however is made up of:

Bhrenit - N Elven Spirit-Ranger6, a mask-wearing jungle-dwelling elf who is out on his brightness quest, while taking out his anger on Aspis slavers who have harassed his people. A dedicated archer, but keeps a 2h weapon at the ready for when we are rushed. Used to be a greataxe, now he prefers a magical scythe. He is kinda scary, probably the best all-round damage dealer.

Ewan Starstrider - CG Human gone half-elf (reincarnation) Cleric6 of Desna, a foul-mouthed but good-hearted explorer type that travels the world in search of new knowledge, and just for the fun of the experience. He is kinda happy-go-lucky, easily the weakest character in the party, but also it's heart and lifeline. He is a good healer, and does his best to provide buffs and staying out of direct combat.

Erzbet - CN Tiefling Rogue3/Diviner3, self-taught street urchin who grew up in the harsh underbelly of the Shackles. She is a survivor first and foremost, showing little patience for idealism, though she has a weak spot for poor/street children, as she knows how hard it can be to be a child in a world that preys on the weak. She is the utility member of the party, but helps with fights by slinging some damage and debuff spells, and trying to flank up with-

Toshirou Doujima - LG Paladin5/Monk1, an exiled Tian-Min noble who was given a fake "holy quest" in order to save him from a political assassination. Naive and trusting to a fault, he is the bright-eyed idealist who believes everyone should be treated well, and that leaders are first and foremost servants of their people. As a paladin of Irori, his quest revolves around finding historical knowledge that will win Irori's unquestionable favor. He is an all-round warrior after the samurai model, using the katana (bastard sword), bow and spear. He serves as the party face, and the tank/frontline fighter.

Liberty's Edge

Our Golarion campaign consists of:
- Emilio, Human Two-Weapon Warrior Fighter. The most optimized character of the bunch, he specializes in damage output via shortswords (wields a sunblade and an artifact shortsword). Ran an abolitionist society out of Galt for a while, currently our 'fearless leader' after the last one got 'et by an avatar of Rovagug (yes we use the air quotes - poor bastard is usually our scapegoat). Leans towards a mobility fighter, so tends to dance back and forth between the front line and the flanks.
- Hargar, Dwarven Monk of the Four Winds. Over 2000 years old (chronologically) via some planar time-flux, he doesn't have as much in common with modern-day dwarves as he'd like, so he sticks with us and serves as the group's token grumpy old man. Has an awesome CMB and CMD; unfortunately his player has the worst luck any of us have ever seen (as another character, he once managed to critically fumble with a bow 3x in a single session - actually, 3 bows since he kept flinging them off the side of mountains in the process). So of course he decided to play a monk, a class with a ton of rolls with low to-hit bonuses. Flurry of misses indeed. Tends to stay on the front lines to save Emilio and Gallus from the many grappling foes the GM throws at us.
- Bane, a Half-Elf Skirmisher Ranger from Andoran. Too new to the party to know much about his character, other than that he works for the Andoran Twilight Talons, is unfailingly pessimistic, is extremely annoyed by elves, and is accompanied by a black leopard that has survived some extremely improbable odds time and time again (seriously, our GM can't kill this thing). His player has a bit of character ADD; this is his third (first turned on the party and was cut down by Emilio, second player abandoned because playing a full caster was too complex). Generally provides artillery support from the rear with his oath bow.
- Shahasra, a Human Cleric of Sivanah from Cheliax. She was a childhood friend of the party's original leader Layth (deceased Aasimar Inquisitor of Sarenrae) and is a close friend of Darien (below). Was our primary healer and collector of cute little fuzzy things until she elected to stay behind in Absalom to assist a slave revolt we incited there. Player's currently deliberating as to a new character. Also has a bit of character ADD.
- Darien, Human Universalist Wizard/Lorekeeper, Absalom fashion plate, party brain trust, and flaaaamingly gay playboy, a DMPC. Was originally meant to be a plot device to get Shahasra together with the party, later lived on once our Inquisitor died and the GM realized we didn't have enough Knowledge skills between us to figure out half of the plot. Has 8's or 9's in both Strength and Constitution, so most of the time is on the ground at the middle of the party as we desperately try to keep him from going to -9 HP. Occasionally he stands up long enough to cast some spell that rends the fabric of the universe and makes us all go 'oooh'.
- Gammon, Human Cleric of Abadar, another DMPC (probably temporary). Darien's latest fling and our current healbot until Darien tires of him.
- Gallus Leonis, Human Rogue (Scout)/Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager)/Chevalier (Cayden Cailean's paladin-esque PrC). A minor Taldan noble with an anger management problem, spent some time in Casomiran prison before ending up in the same extradimensional jail that Hargar was rotting in for 2000 years (though by their perspective it was 2 and 20, respectively). Usually drunk. For a barbarian, mostly focused on damage output, but his high HP means he's also the party's tank (through attrition, thanks to his low AC). Swings an artifact sword he stole from the 'King of the Trolls' and hates giants who keep trying to steal it back. Always charges.

Obviously we need more casters/healers, but people keep starting them and then tiring of them. Sigh.

This is my 4e Monday group (being the most steady in both players and schedule, and thoroughly pissing me off so it is stuck in my memory).

Set in the DM's version of Eberron that has gone all crosseyed around the party's "actually important players." Though given no one knows anything about their exceedingly exotic races as they exist in Eberron, we might as well be playing anywhere.

We have
-Warforged Artificer. Formerly Human Artificer who, I don't even remember how, found a Warforged body in a random mine and put his soul in it (I think this was mostly due to some one saying something and the DM thinking it was a great idea).
-Human Avenger. Some sort of [former] assassin.. I think? Who lived on a farm in some nowhere village... I think? I really have no idea. Anyway, he's the stealth and something.
-Elven Ranger. From some place where Necromancy is not-evil but the player (and DM) is confused and has decided Necromancy is evil and hates necromancy, like a lot.
-Eladrin Warlord. Table Diva. Is apparently some noble royal escort for the Brelish king to a Wilden ambassador from who the hell knows where. Must expound greatly upon any action minor or major (being a WoD officianado) and often spends too much time on this.
-Drow Invoker. Girlfriend of Eladrin, both player and character. Also royal escort to ambassador. Also, secondary character for Eladrin player (while Drow player is there). Also, (and DM) doesn't understand the place of Drow in Eberron so now they are all imported straight from Forgotten Realms and are superevil and the character is antiDrow. The entire campaign now entirely and solely revolves around the Drow and Eladrin's backstory.
-Dwarf Fighter. Stereotypical hammer-swinging, hard-drinking, humorless Dwarf. Some very important character from a very minor Dwarf clan. Completely unable to do anything but hit stuff with a hammer and make stuff hit him. And not very good at either of those. About to leave campaign on a trial basis for a misanthropic, sticky-fingered Changeling Rogue.

Former players:
-Wilden Druid (I think)/Halfling Sorcerer. Player - Chaotic Insane. His first action upon "meeting the party in a tavern" was to kick the door in, say nothing, and set the place on fire. This kind of antisocial behavior got him killed in the same session. Later he reincarnated as the Halfling Sorcerer. Needless to say, more weird stuff happened and he died. Player moved.
-Wilden Druid. Apparently was the aforementioned Ambassador from somewhere important stopping in a tavern near a farm in the middle of nowhere. Player got too busy and dropped out.

I run a campaign in the Scarred Lands with four main characters:

Derthgar Oakenshield--Dwarf ranger 3. Second son of the lord mayor, was originally slated to be a typical racist, misanthropic alcoholic dwarf but had a road to Damascus-type moment and is now proselytizing for Syhana, the goddess of rainbows and fey. He fights with an urgosh and wears spiked boots (before his conversion he wanted people to call him "Shinsplinter".)

Tim Mertzenberger--Elf wizard 2. Foppish son of two 20th-level wizards. He typically forgets that he has already accumulated two wands and spends most of his skill points on Profession: Gambler. In fact, his original reason for adventuring was that he was seen cheating some paladins at cards during the spring cotillion and his father (a baron, which is why he wasn't lynched) decided he needed to go out adventuring to build some character.

Nebedknezzar--Gnome artificer 3. There are neither gnomes nor artificers in the Scarred Lands. So how does Nebby exist? Well, he was a 20th level artificer in a place called Eberron (he worked as an engineer on the Lightning Rail) when he was summoned to the Scarred Lands. When he arrived there, all the clerics who had summoned him were dead. WTF? Since then he's made his living as a tinkerer and mechanic and just bought his first covered wagon. He usually buffs everybody up, reads scrolls and shoots his crossbow.

Brother Nostertia--Elf monk 3. Raised in an orphanage by a marginal religious group (the cult of Golthain for fellow Scarred Lands fans) he loves tumbling (which he is awesome at) and flurry of blows (not so much). He also really got into collecting petitions for Golthain from everyone he meets and self-mutilation/flagellation.

The whole campaign was originally planned around a character whose player after two games decided that he couldn't commit to our schedule and has since been left in the dust, but his name is

Barroughlin--Half-orc babrbarian 1. Raised in the same orphanage with Brother Nostertia. His quest to find the adventuring party that slaughtered his tribe (the Kolthagga--or, in Common, the Bloody Cocks) was the kickstart to the party's adventuring career.

This probably doesn't answer any of your questions.

Edit: The expletive is another word for a male chicken. In the plural.

In the Kingmaker campaign I'm in we currently have a huge party, due to leadership.

Duke Israfel Sarandie of Sarandia: LG Human; 8/8 Paladin/Oracle of Erastil; he's the son of noble that was raised up for his deeds for the army. He set off with a group of friends to found his own nation, to seek his fortune.
General Edmond Surtova of Sarandia: N Human; 8/8 Caviler/Bard; son of wealthy nobles, was exiled after a scandalized affair involving a stable boy. Joined his friend Israfel on his adventure. Currently married to the sister of Israfel and Perpetial.
High Magister Ailca MyB&%~+ of Sarandia LG Human; 6/6 Cleric of Erastil/Wizard; cohort and devoted follower of Duke Israfel.
High Martial Hythorian Stonebeard of Sarandia: CG Dwarf; 9 Ranger; long time friend of the father of Israfel, came along on journey at the request of Israfel's father, to keep an eye on things.
(Royal Assassin) Gwendolyn Takashi: N Human; 7/7 Fighter (Archer)/Rogue (Sniper); Daughter of a diplomat, cohort and good friend of Perpetial, second in comand of Perpetial's thieves guild, in love with Perpetial, to a negative degree.
Squire (Spymaster) Sancho Ponchez: N Halfling; 7 Bard; Squire and lover to General Edmond.
Treasurer Perpetial Sarandie of Sarandia: N Human; 9/9 Rogue (Burglar)/Sorcerer (Verdant Bloodline); (This is my character) Younger sister of Duke Israfel, headed off with "Raf" to get the hell away from her parents. Started a rival thieves guild in her youth, which resulted in being targeted by the old guild.
High Warden Marcus of Sarandia: LN Human; 9/9 Inquisitor/Fighter; Long time friend of Israfel and Edmond, joined to give his friends a helping hand.

Titles in () are unofficial titles.

Liberty's Edge

Party in the first game I've run in over a year, which takes place in our group's homebrewed world. I've got Samurai Japan because, damn it, I got Oriental Adventures as a birthday gift from one of the group members and I plan on using it!

Neko Katsu, Human Swordsage, from Neko Clan: Very quiet, and very to the point. His gempukku is going through (and surviving!) the Whispering Tomb of Diamond Lake. Yes, we're doing Age of Worms.

Satou Nonomiya, Human Summoner, from Hare Clan: Deliberately speaks to his eidolon, Elsee, in Korobukuru so nobody can understand them. (If there actually is a korobukuru around, they speak in Nezumi.) Had a very... complicated past that I'm a bit afraid to bring up in case Katsu's player actually reads this thread.

Neko Yurika, Nekomimi Wu Jen, from Neko Clan: Has the most interesting wu jen taboo ever, considering her player- she must remain chaste. And before you say "Snorb, Yurika can just sleep with someone, lose her spells, and get them back the next day," I reply with "It's like a druid now- she loses her spells for the rest of the day plus twenty-four hours, so no gaming the system." Dresses like a streetwalker , but Neko Clan does wear revealing outfits anyway.

Beastface Maro, Human Fighter, from Crab Clan: Legendary for living three miles out of Kanmuri, the Imperial Capital, and has a reputation of demanding rice, wine, and women of any who sought his blade, Beastface Maro was an infamous figure in the Empire. Much hilarity was had, due to his player. To the considerable relief of the rest of the party, as well as the Great Clans, the Imperial Family, and the ancestral spirits, Beastface Maro died heroically running away from a swarm of acid beetles.

.....These are the heroes who will (hopefully) save the Sapphire Empire. This is going to be interesting.

I am running a D&D campaign with a group.
The rules are D&D 3.X, modified with a bunch of houserules.
The setting is homebrew.

The party is composed of the following (I do not put the names to keep the incognito):
- Human (Indian) Rogue 2/Fire Sorceress 6. A con artist and a flamboyant personality.
- Gnome (Forest) Druid 6/Mage 2. The spiritual leader of the party and the main slaughterer of NPCs.
- Elf Bladesinger 7 (homebrew class). Suffers from amnesia, quite arrogant, very tolkienish.
- Human Fighter 7. A spiritual warrior, interested in spirits and totems.
- Halfling (Snow) Monk 3/Cleric 3. A comic figure.
- Human (Mongol) Ranger 6. A rider of the steppes. Newcomer in the group.
- Human (Celt) Swashbuckler 6. Newcomer too.

I'm running Serpent's Skull. Playing is sporadic so we're still on Smuggler's Shiv.

Lekryn
CG Human Witch 3, spider familiar
Got kicked out of her family at an early age, spent most of her life wandering the Chelaxian countryside. Played by my local clinical sociopath as a personal challenge, because playing social, good characters is hard.

Sally
LE Human Monk 3
Raised by the devil nuns at the Temple of the Golden Erinyes, Sally is testing out a Monastery Archetype I wrote. Cha 7 makes a diplomacy-based adventure lots of... fun? Plays LE with Paradise Lost as her inspiration (doing it right).

Eravyr
N Elf (Ekujae) Bard 3
DMPC to make up for only having two players. I also play the other pile o' NPCs with full personalities, voices, and quirks.

Playing through Serpent's Skull, our party consists of:

Alexis Tigerius Starslayer, Human Paladin 9 - A paladin of Shelyn who believes in love and song and kicking ass. Played by the only female member of the group as a metrosexual whose thoughts on love are the exact opposite of a Calistrian. He tries to hook the party up with girls he thinks would be nice for them to date, while Jol, the ranger, is only interested in whores. Fights with a combat scabbard and a sword, which while it took a very long time to make it mechanically viable, turned out to be completely awesome.
"Alexis Tigerius Starslayer!" - Alexis' new smiting catchphrase after we joked that his name was so powerful it would kill people with weak hearts

Jol Zandu, Human Skirmisher/Infiltrator Ranger 9 - A Varisian bounty hunter from Kaer Maga with a massive purple birth tattoo down the side of his body. Notable for being absolutely ridiculous at tracking and also a complete juggernaut, he carries around both his earthbreaker and his magical sword, dropping his earthbreaker on the ground at the beginning of every battle.
"Gaaaalllaaagghhherrrrr!!" - A stand-up comic does a smashing routine with a sledgehammer, and Jol's player lampooned it during a game. I thought he had made up a Varisian battle cry for a long time before they let me in on the inside joke
-- Zamtu II, Small cat animal companion - Referred to by the party as "cat", referred to by the DM as "the dog", and referred to by the rogue as "flankbot", he is better at almost every single skill the party has that doesn't require reading or speaking.
"Buwawu." - Our best impression of a leopard roaring.

Kevin "Professor" or "Wizard" Andromedae, Human Oracle of Lore - Jol Zandu's quarry-- he means to take him back to Kaer Maga to bring him in on his bounty, but along the way we were sidetracked by adventure. Since he didn't have a name at the beginning of the game, Jol began to call him "Wizard" and Junior called him "Professor" and they stuck. Haunted by secret ghosts, the Wizard is constantly stolen from by mischievous spirits.
The Wizard does not have a catch phrase but is popular for constantly bluffing the rogue out of small sums of money and claiming that he has no divine magical powers.

Lucas Patentpockets, Human Alchemist 9 - Once a gnome, then a corpse and now a Mwangi human, Lucas is a mad bombing alchemical genius with a penchant for the scorched earth policy. Lucas has had really bad luck and essentially constantly is in extreme peril, but then makes up for it by playing wizard and neutralizing entire encounters in one move.
"For the mistress!" - Lucas has a +2 will save at level 9, and as a result, has been charmed or dominated by almost every monster we've encountered who can charm or dominate. All of them are female, and all of them are referred to by Lucas after their death as "my wife."

Saul Vancaskerkin Jr., Human Rogue 9 - The mythical fourth Vancaskerkin son, he escaped Riddleport not too long before his father's crime empire went belly up. Good at heart with a very powerful intellect, he hides his smarts by playing up his Magnimar accent (essentially, southern, since both Verik and Saul had southern accents in the games I ran with them in it) and acting stupid, though he has a fondness for talking to the Professor and Lucas about their scholarly studies. Has the powerful ability to enrage enemy combatants with his goofy nasally voice.
"Pppproooffessssoooorrrrr!" - Junior is often injured halfway to death, hence the urgency

The Exchange

In my Kingmaker campaign, I have a small army (or at least it seems that way) of players:

  • Arha LG Human Gold Dragon Shaman (converted the class to PF) 4; cousin to Sir Owen Tyquinn, she's along for the ride.
  • Sir Owen Tyquinn NG Human Dragonrider 4; Friend and companion of Ragnell the Gold Dragon, sent to help eliminate the Stag Lord's banditry from the Greenbelt
  • Ragnell Gold Dragon, companion of Owen Tyquinn
  • Quaxolaphaunt NG Elf Oracle of the Waves 4; Follower of Gozreh and recent mother (she is one of the three remaining original explorer/colonists after a near TPK, survived solely by the player not being there, so neither was the character).
  • Estrridh LG Human Fighter 4; Archer and dear friend of Oleg and Svetlana (he is one of the three remaining original explorer/colonists after a near TPK, survived solely by the player not being there, so neither was the character).
  • Kaladin Sunbringer NG Human (sorta) Shining Knight Paladin, Warrior of the Holy Light 4; Worshiper of Sarenrae, soon-to-be General of his tiny colony and slayer of the Stag Lord(he is one of the three remaining original explorer/colonists after a near TPK, survived by spending a pair of Hero Points, which resulted in a miraculous recovery after being taken for dead by the bandits and thrown out with the trash).
  • Giacamino N Human Witch 4; Traveling Magician who was stranded by the actions of mischevious fey and decided to help out a group of struggling explorers/adventurers.
  • Erlathan NG Elf Spell-less Ranger (KQ variant) 4; son of an elven diplomat and master marksman.
  • Dor Truggle N Halfling Rogue 4; Master of stealth and subterfuge.

Here is my group:

Human Shoanti, CN Fighter 7, powerhouse with Greatsword. Left the Shoanti for Riddleport to seek adventure and ended up as a soldier and fighter in the local gladitorial ring before leaving to see the Swallowtail festival.

Halfelf CN Fighter 4 Rogue 3, Crossbow Master from Magnimar. Came to Sandpoint for the Swallowtail festival.

Aristorcrat 1 Wizard 6, Human Vudrani LG. Came to Sandpoint for the Swallowtail festival.

Elven Ranger CG 6 Archer, Cleric of Desna 1, from Mierani Forrest. Wolf Companion. Came to Sandpoint on request of Shallelu Andosana because of Goblin attacks on Sandpoint.

Gnome NG Illusionist 7, from Whistledown wandered into town.

DM Character Halfling NG Bard 4, Rogue 3. Was in town enjoying a rest between Riddleport and Magnimar.

Running:

Wizard 3/Cleric 3/Mystic Theurge 3: Virtually always has the right utility spell for the job, being as he has something on the order of 85 spells/day.

Ranger 3/Cleric 6: Likes hammers. A lot. A whole, whole lot. Currently weilding a bastard sword. Yup.

Rogue 5/Sorc 1/Shadow Dancer 3: Pretty much ninjas through any scouting mission without fail. Party virtually always knows what's ahead when he's around.

Ranger 1/Fighter 8 archer: Hilariously bad at social situations. Outputs upwards of 80 damage/round in every combat (usually closer to 120). Often nearly dies due to no fault of his own.

Summoner 9: Hastes the party while his 9ft murder machine goes nuts on dudes. Still constructing a LONG series of apologies for making his totem animal spirit adventure in a sewer under Westcrown.

Witch 9 GMNPC: We're often absent 1-2 folks and the summoner is retiring, so I have this dude floating about until we have more coming in.

Playing:

Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 3: Walking power attack/bite murder machine with a guisarme and spiked chain. Just elicited first cry of "why won't you die!?!?" from a bad guy. Krag on the campaign Journals for those curious

Wizard 3: Insane necromancer obsessed with a broom (it's his bonded item. Srsly).

Life Oracle 2: cannibalistic goblin. Yup. One of those games

Human (?) Fighter (savage warrior) 3: Has claws. Generally angsty. Skull magnetically attracts furniture. Also see campaign journal.

Bard 3: Sings, trips dudes, and heals in addition to doing party face stuff. Recent rebuild so still figuring out his character.

Rogue 2: Very good at stabbing dudes. Enjoys hanging out with the barbarian so he has someone to hide behind in case of sudden archery.

Other game (newish, everyone's level 2:

Arcane Duelist: overmoneyed second son of an earl with something to prove and a fancy sword. Currently functioning as the bankroll.

The cleric brothers: 2 scottish dwarves on a pilgrimage. Hilarity ensues, generally. Also terrible scottish accents.

Rogue: general sneakthief/guy what breaks and enters. Likely sees the duelist as an eventual mark

Fighter: The third scottish dwarf. Enjoys drinking and hitting stuff with his axe. Easily distracted by shiny objects (thank god I took prestidigitation). Also the only lawful party member (THANK GOD I took prestidigitation).

I'm GMing a Pathfinder adventure where everyone insisted on trying something really different and possibly stupid. Everyone wanted to start their own thieve's/assassin's guild. Everyone has to be multi-class with at least one level in Rogue and we are level 12 now. It's actually been pretty fun so far.

Codename: Twinkletoes
Drow Fighter/Shadow Dancer/Rogue
Male, gay (but, shockingly, not flamboyant or stereotype-ish), professional dancer as a cover, TWF, the muscle of the group (oddly-enough).

Codename: Fairy Princess
Halfling Sorcerer/Arcane Trickster/Rogue
Female, kleptomaniac, pretends to be a human child when in public, wears fairy wings and a tiara, carries a slingstaff with sparkly stars on it. Imagine a 6' 6" 300lb man playing a 3' tall halfling woman who pretends to be a little girl who is pretending to be a fairy princess... Meta!

Codename: The Devil
Tiefling Assassin/Rogue
Male, basically a ninja with his elven curve blade, can only speak in whispers, no people skills, expert tailor (the guild's front is a tailor shop).

Codename: The Owl
Gnome Bard/Rogue
Male, ventriloquist/comedian with an owl ventriloquist dummy/split-personality that fancies himself a super-villian at night. The owl dummy makes him wear an owl-like cape and cowl at night. Exceptional talker, bad at everything else.

EDIT: Also, everyone has to be LE and we have a strict code of conduct for our guild. Long, explicit rules about not screwing over the other guild members thanks to the past two adventures ending in horrible - albeit hilarious - betrayal.

For the Kingmaker game I play in we have 3 regulars and 1 sometimes players. We recently decided to do a system where we have two characters. Only one character is "active" at a time, ie only one is treated as a PC and gets to go out adventuring. Currently (listing main and then secondary):

Me:
Lissavanna Monkamuck: Human Fighter 3 Two Handed Weapon varient. Loves her Greatsword and Power Attack. She is the ruler of our little kingdom.

Johnanthan Darvich: Human Alchemist 3 I bumped up his Str, Dex and Con (after getting a good Int) so when he isn't throwing bombs he will be swilling his feral mutagen and going toe to toe. I'm probably going to make him a grappler.

David:
Darius: Elven Ranger 3 Bouty hunter type.

(can't remember name): Dhampir Cleric 1/Fighter 2 Going for an APG prestige class. Trying to prove himself despite being a Dhampir, doing his best at a transylvanian accent.

David (yes there are two):
Marakov: Human Rogue 3 Intelligent sneaky type. Working well with Lissavanna to set up the kingdom.

?: TBA

Adrian:
Ram: Human Cleric 2 Follower of the god of war. The other characters aren't sure they want to keep him around. He seems to be a loose cannon.

?:Has yet to be told about the two characters thing (it came up last session).

suzanne - Zara, female Elf rogue 3
Evan - Casimir, male Human, Paladin of Shelyn 3
Ed - Olom, male Dwarf Barbarian 3
Me - Alextros, male Fighter 3
These Last three haven't joined us yet
Eric - Druid
maurice - monk
marty - sorcerer

An update to my saturday group.

the 6th level human guest ranger left as he was only there for one week. party is now 7th level. still have to do updates.

Remaining PC's

Yagami Iori, Male Tian Cleric of Irori Rune/Healing likely to be straight cleric. spams channels, sets up blast runes, and summons celestial riding dogs.

Nekogami Shuriken, Female Tian Melee Inquisitor of Zon Kuthon w/ darkness doman, straight inquisitor, due to recent DM playstyle choices, we can afford to nova as a whole. we get an average of 2 combat encounters per day with the occasional third. they just happen to include more mooks. deals huge amounts of actually noticable melee damage. when fully buffed, DM questions every bonus i apply. used to be a 3.5 swordsage before Some DM fiat effect rewrote her very being, took an hour to come up with a solution that did not involve her becoming an NPC cleric of Lamashtu.

Thorkin Hans Thorkinson, Male Dwarf Axe and Board Fighter, and not the optimal kind. forgets a lot of useful buffs that are up and forgets to include flanking or aid another stuff, just straightforward i full attack. hits everything on a 2 or better, even with power attack

Eva Jorgenson Female Dwarven Axe and Board Duskblade. frequently dies and gets raised, does reckless stuff, doesn't realize a free hand is needed for spells and doesn't do anything effectively. deals less damage than the fighter who also cannot really keep up in the damage department around my inquisitor. 3.5 duskblade with a barely pathfinderizeed skill list

Grendel Male 1/2 elf (Varisian) ranger/rogue, some odd kind of switch hitter going for shadowdancer. uses a compsite longbow and an elven curveblade that the DM gave him free proficiency by accidental misinterpretation of elven blood.

Rama; Venerable Male Vudrani Psionicist, has a godlike intellect of 26 due to being venerable aged, having a base 20, his 4th level stat point and a +2 headband. easy target to grapple. despite needing neither verbal nor somatic components. of the nomad discipline and basically a 3.5 psionicist with a barely pathfinderized skill list

Drazzi (or something like that, i forgot) Varisian Aberrant Sorcerer, spams evocation spells only to fizzle against the load of abberrations with spell resistance we encounter.

Lady Mandrake, Female Illumian Binder/Focused Transmuter/Anima Mage. Banned enchantment, evocation and necromancy in exchange for the ability to make everyone else so much better at thier jobs that the mostly suboptimal party goes from effectively APL -1 to APL +1.

He has reformed greatly, but still finds ways to screw the party over with charts, and his absurd house rule to screw over magic item trade. since we rarely fight more than 6 rounds of relevant level appropriate combat per day split among 2-3 fights. and many rounds of relatively insignificant fights and because combat rounds take forever. all the limited daily resource classes can afford to nova. the party controls the pace of combat. and we almost never seem to get ambushed in our sleep anymore. and random encounters became a rare occurence. he still uses stuff like sunder, rust monsters and prebuffed monsters with used up potions. in some ways he hinders the party, in other ways, he unintentionally helps them. and he has given unsual tmeporary allies as well. such as a moongoose sniper with a bolt action rifle with silencer and scope in the middle of the maelstrom which for some reason included a lot of movie references, and the camapign has been entirely movie references. mostly paranormal horror.

Our group is currently level 2:
Ailsa- Human CHA rogue going master spy. Uses feint to get sneak attacks.
Rogar- Dwarf cleric to Torag going holy vindicator. heals/buffs/smashes faces
Stein- Dwarf Bard, uses dancing lights and/or fascinate on everything EVAR
Edrick- Human Inquisitor
Julius- Human Alchemist. Blows stuff up including party >.> traveling salesman

The group works alright together though Rogar is always looking in holes, pits or behind waterfalls. This leads to getting attacked/surprised alot.

Julius's first roll was a natural 1. The bomb he was tossing went off in his hand and knocked out both himself and Stein.

Edrick has so far been a solid companion. However when Ailsa spotted a follower and quietly got him to identify it without alerting the mob (ice troll), he decided the best course of action was to turn around as say "Guys, theres an Ice Troll there." *Points*

Stein generally follows us around taking notes and later tells a story at the next towns tavern. This story of course gets more embellished every time.

Ailsa is my character so I know abit more. Her brother tried to kill her for the throne of some country. (sry I forget the name, in my background write-up it was minor nobility not royalty) She has been very combat effective so far, though almost drowned swimming like 20ft (ok so she had to dive and I rolled some nat 1's). This next session I get to see if the assassin following the group is after me (good chance). I am planning on introducing two new "personae" this session also. I have almost 20 names and disguises planned and hope to surprise the party by getting the GM to control the char making her seem an NPC.

Our group 3 plus GM, have only recently started playing Pathfinder (although we have played both 3.5 & 4ed previously), and we have
All Level 3,we are playing the Kingmaker adventure path.

Micah-CN Female Half-Elf Fighter (age 22), she tends to focus on mobility rather then heavy armour, she was raised in a Elven village but left as prejudice against her human blood began to occur.

Hagik- CN Half-Orc Sorcerer Abyssal bloodline (age 18), carries a Falchion , and hasn't revealed much about himself.

Karoth- NG Human Cleric of Sarenrae (domains Good & Glory) (age 20), has a birthmark resembling the goddess and was raised in the temple so he doesn't know much about the outside world, tries to encourage the other party members to become at least CG.

An oddity about our party is that we are all related, having the same father (emel the unfaithful), who visited an elven village 23 years ago but left soon after Micah's birth, the wandered into Karoth's village a couple of years later but only stayed a few nights, and was captured by a tribe of Orcs a few years later and one of the females there decided to keep him as a pet, until his roving eye set upon a youngr female, so she killed him, Hagik has his skull which was made into a goblet.
This was how we realised we were related as we all knew small amounts of info about our father (including his name) and when Hagik pulled out the Goblet with his name scratched on it in Orcish it all came together.

Set in Eberron. PF RAW + APG + Eberron Specifc. Just a quick overview of the RP, there's more to it than what's below.

Elf - Ranger 4 - (Me)Composite longbow and Talenta Tangat for close combat, fights from a distance for the most part (& Wolf Companion!)
RP: At first he was attempting to be good, but over time a combination of not being accepted and his lack of friends/lovers has driven him to not care anymore and be outright hostile towards certain characters. He just got his wolf, so hopefully she'll be good for him.

Human - Wiz3/Fig1 - Dagger Whip and Heavy Mace, fights in the mid and uses spells to alter the battle, uses school power to attack at range
RP: Using the party for his own gain, but at the same time is loyal enough to us.

Warforged - Cleric 4 - Fights up front and mainly uses spells for healing,
RP: Really I have no idea, he just seems to hate us all.

Human - Paladin 4 - sword and board, fights up front, secondary healer when necessary,
RP: Party leader, knows more than the rest of us about the quest/job, is mostly loyal to his job.

Gnome - Bard 4 - sings...
RP: She's only there because we lost our rogue. And the worst part is that she doesn't even do the rogue stuff, I do all that now. Her entire purpose seems to be to piss me off and take a share of the XP.

Running a new game to test some of the APG stuff (and the fast XP track, never used it before)

Jana, gnome, NG Inquisitor of Erastil 8
Frightening damage dealer when pissed off. Two games ago she stood in the middle of a town square taking out flame drakes with a standard longbow (Destruction judgment, truestrike, bane special ability, shoot; is a two round cycle) while getting hit by their fireballs in a Fly-By. Spends an inordinate amount of time as a heal-bot.

Suika, tiefling, CG Barbarian, Invincible Rager 8
Has the lesser fiend totem so she can hit people with her horns. Can behead a guy with a flail when raging. Is named after and played as a Touhou character, which means nothing to the vast majority of people here.

Oh wow the fast XP track is fast. Doesn't help that these two characters handle CRs meant for a party of four without difficulty. It's what happens when I use published adventures versus seasoned tacticians.

i love Touhou. i read some of the fanfic and my favorite pairing has got to be Alice and Marisa. but Suika is very awesome too, does she steal sake from a miko named Reimu on a regular basis?

No but she does freeload off of the temple of Cayden Caliean. She hasn't taken to wearing the priest's clothes yet but she has gotten him to wondering why he lets her stay there. Hee, brings nothing but trouble.

still fits the theme of Ibuki Suika.

maybe you could incorperate other touhou characters.

maybe a depressed human oracle of life shows up at the temple, upset that no one will donate to her shrine and angered about the fact she has to live inside a cardboard box.

maybe a human witch happens to feel love for a certain tiefling dollmaker and cannot convince her to reciprocate the love back and Suika may have to do some arrangements in exchange for a reward in alchohol.

a young vampire countess may need someone to play with her younger sister and a little help motivatng her maid.

We are playing Second Darkness

Half Ork Paladin of Areoden (The holy light Alternate)

Dwarf Monk/Inquisitor of Knowledge (two levels of monk for story and evasion so saves will be save or nothing at high level)

Half Elf Rogue (going into master Spy)

Human Fighter Sword and board master

Gnome Fire Wizard Oracle of fire (this character is kinda worthless beause we keep telling him he should be a fire sorcerer with oracle but wont listen to us two stats and dual casting very painful to watch)

Two guys waiting for an opening (6 is my max on players and they like live together so I dont want to make one feel like s%$*)

Our group is three fairly veteran GMs... being run through the Curse of the Crimson Throne adventure path by my wife, a novice GM.

We use PF Core, APG, Anything at all by Paizo, and select third party by-approval bits here and there, with quite a bit of spell and feat support from the 3.5 line of Complete/Races-Of books. Using EPIC pointbuy (25!) and normal XP progression in a 3 man party. We have standing house rules to give full HP per HD, and otherwise, pretty much all is RAW.

Our Party:

(me)Dhampyr Wizard (Necromancer) 3/Master Specialist (Necromancer) 1 - This character is pretty much a Neck-Romancer. I was asked to ham it up with a big fat transylvanian accent, so I have been. He trained for about fifty years to get through his first level of wizard, studying at the Arcanimirium in Absalom, at various and sundry shady teachers sides in Kaer Maga, and finally at the Acadamae in Korvosa. An Acadamae graduate (summoning spells as a standard action!), his tactics have mostly been to either be completely worthless and fail a bunch of heal checks (Heal trained, wears a doctors mask. :D ) or to one-shot the BBEG and make a creepy comment, followed by a riff of organ music from one of the other players laptop. At level four he's just coming into his own, having sacrificed his own life to get off a framed girl from being executed, restore stability to the government of Korvosa, and stop a riot from breaking out. Through undead summoning, necromantic debuffing, and some custom spells I'll be posting on the forums as soon as they're finished being researched and playtested, he plays battlefield controller and off-tank. The character is highly neutral, taking a very 'the many over the one' stance of morality, and constantly touting the benefits and advantages of unintelligent undead. When he was still new in town, Gaedren Laam tried to extort money out of him. He was all 'But I am a Vizard! The very universe bows to my infinite power! DANCING LIGHTS!' ... Laam and his cronies proceeded to beat him nearly to death, and leave him face down in a pile of garbage. He recovered, but has rather attractive scarring all over his body, and right up his neck and one side of his face, which he handily covers with the long-beaked doctors mask. Uses Arcane Duelist (instead of scribe scroll), and has Tortured (trait), and Hunter's Blood (trait). His family is a minor noble house in Absalom. His mother was a master vampire, his father a famous vampire hunter. His father failed the will save against the dominate, and ended up being forced to sire a child on the vicious matriarch. After three years of standing by, raising the boy, he was set loose in the countryside with him, mocked, and released from the power.

Assimar Warlord (Adamant Enterprises, 3rd Party) 2/Ranger (Beastmaster) 2 - Highly charismatic, tough as nails, fairly stoic mercenary type who has mostly run hardcore interference to keep my fragile butt from getting killed. We pooled the parties loot and bought him a suit of MW Fullplate ASAP, and a masterwork heavy steel shield to go with it. He may have all the dex of a peasant commoner, but his +2 party init bonus goes a long way toward making us all more effective, and I can see his HP bonus helping us all out a lot in the future. His dog has been the party's secondary controller/striker, with a custom feat that gives him a Level 1 Animal Companion, since first level. Gaedren Laam got his sister hooked on shiver, and really roughed her up, giving him a rather batman-esque bent on delivering chaotic justice

Half-Elf Monk (Zen Archer FTW!) 4 - The ever-lovin' striker of the party. His favorite tactic is to get right up close to them... and shoot them repeatedly in the face with his bow. If they try to walk away, he kicks them in the nose. Because this character started out as a gunslinger at the start of the playtest, his backstory is now: His father was murdered by Gaedren Laam, and the old gunsmith's spirit possessed his son, driving him to find Laam, and shoot him in the face (for one whole damage... >.>). With his fathers murder avenged, he has buried the expensive one-of-a-kind pistols, and vowed never to pick up firearms again! In our encounter with the Spider King, the Necromancer arranged to free a poor pathetic pseudodragon, which has become his bosom companion. He also hits on certain young, attractive artists, and seems to get a rather excellent reply.

The Party: Troubleshooters extraordinaire, everyone who meets them knows these three guys are -going places-. They are some of the most gifted men in their fields, and their style and panache shows it. They room in the stateroom and two adjoining rooms of the Golden Lion, spend their free time at the Gilded Cloud, and have made fast friends with the Spider King. In combat, the Warlord and the Necromancer lock down opponents, the magician waiting in back for anyone to break the line and get a face full of horrific, flesh-peeling touch spell, and the archer does most of the heavy lifting from long/mid range. Anyone who thinks closing on the striker is a good idea is in for a seriously bad time. Judicious buff spells and clever planning mean we have only had trouble with an Otyugh and ... Nope, just the Otyugh in a confined space. Cost me most of my skeletons. >.<

Currently playing in a homebrew "Evolving World" campaign. Due to ... social issues a couple months back, our regular group kinda exploded, so the party is incredibly tiny at the moment.

Alicia "Indigo" Valynn - Half-Elf Sorc 4 / Oracle 4
-Plans to become a Mystic Theurge next level. Basically the party's skill monkey due to how horribly ineffective she is in combat compared to her brother right now. Took the Inattentive flaw (-4 perception) to pay for the Spell Thematics (painting) feat. This essentially means that in exchange for constantly failing perception checks, all her spells look like she's painting them (and are slightly harder to identify with spellcraft). Appropriately, her staff is a giant paintbrush. Due to her abysmal perception, she has literally slept through an earthquake while on the back of a moving wagon pulled by a panicking horse.

Niaru Valynn - Half-Elf Magus 8
-The party's combat monster. He currently loves channeling scorching rays through his scimitar on damn near every attack. Keeps falling prey to horrible rolls on will saves. Recently went insane after managing to roll a -70 or so on a knowledge check on a Rakhasha (we use a variant where if you roll 1 or 20 you just add + or - 20 and roll again... he rolled 4 1's in a row). His brand new second personality thinks it's a Samurai. Hilariously enough, we recently came across a fairly powerful magic composite longbow and some plate mail horse barding. Since the DM has ruled it to be far more awesome if he actually switches classes when his personality swaps, mounted archery samurai hilarity will likely ensue.

The party also has had a rotating crew of 1-2 NPC's as a DM mercy. Current NPC's are:

"Blinky" - Gnome Wizard ??
-Seems to be an evocation specialist. Thank the gods, cause we needed more firepower. Level unknown, but he's at least high enough to lob Fireballs. Nicknamed blinky because when we met him, he had one eye, no ears, no tongue, no legs, and one arm with three fingers. Our temporary Beholder overlords wanted someone to scribe scrolls... and not much else. Blinking was pretty much all he could do. We have since had most of his limbs regenerated, but he's still missing one eye. Our NPC cleric exploded before he could finish the job.

??? - Human Rogue ??
-Seems to be based around stealth sneak attacking with throwing knives. Exact level also unknown, though he's apparently going to be a permanent fixture until we can find more players. Thankfully his presence is taking some of the skill-monkey duties off of Alicia.

Rise of the Runelords (currently in level two of Thistletop)

Pelgrimm of Janderhoff, NG male dwarf barbarian 3: A caravan guard and aspiring lawman in Sandpoint. Specializes in greataxe combat. Took Quick Draw at 1st level because he frequently switches between greataxe and battleaxe/shield.

Sven Svensson, CN male human rogue 3: A Shoanti footpad; the player does the voice of Toki from Metalocalypse whenever he speaks in character. Built for initiative optimization and trapspotting (Improved Initiative feat and that rogue talent that gives you a free Perception check within 10' of any trap).

Kyra, NG female cleric of Sarenrae 3: Our party newbie started with a pregen but has quickly made it her own; the GM allowed her to trade out one of her domains for the one which gives her the ranged touch fire bolt as a domain power.

Axion, NG male human fighter 3: A flail specialist built using the weapon master archetype from APG. Lives to trip things and insult his party members with sharp but well-intentioned jokes.

Cult of the Undead Bovine: Resurrection (don't ask)

Aedwyn of Almer, LG male half-elf fighter 5/oracle 2: Charismatic and well-intentioned, Aedwyn's oracular powers came to fruition when he was raised from the dead following a fight with the zombie cow hordes. His passage into death and back bestowed upon him the mystery of life... but his every action is haunted by mischievous, unseelie spirits. Aedwyn is as deadly with his longbow as he is with his scimitar; he and Sven have taken Precise Strike in order to synergize their combat techniques.

Sven Svensson, CN male human rogue 7: A parallel-universe version of the same player's character from our RotRL game, bad Norwegian accent and all. Sven fancies himself a good shot with a shortbow, but he's only just now taken Point Blank Shot. Well, at least he has Precise Strike going for him.

Kiarda, ?? female half-elf sorceress 7: A scion of elemental fire, Kiarda is as ruthless in diplomatic situations as she is when wielding her arcane fire. She once convinced an entire cathedral full of ensorcelled peasants under the effects of psychotropic milk to throw off their mental shackles and strike back against their oppressors, illustrating with her illusions the miseries the bovine necromancers sought to visit upon the villagers.

Damia, ?? female elf fighter 7: Built using the two weapon warrior archetype. Damia says little, preferring to let the razor-sharp edges of her scimitars do the talking for her. A cunning swordswoman and a stellar acrobat, her mobility in combat is especially prized by Sven, who needs all the help he can get setting up flanks.

The Homebrew Campaign That Harms Should Give A Proper Name Already Where Graz'zt Keeps Making Us His B+@&~

(NOTE: Raeon is currently dead and his resurrection is apparently beyond the means of any cleric in the world. His replacement is forthcoming later this week, but the player is being very secretive about his build...)

Raeon, LG male aasimar cleric 12: A champion of the heavens, Raeon walked the earth pretending to be a human; not even his fellow party members were fully aware of his true nature. Pious to a fault and steadfast in his devotion to law, Raeon believed in seeing to it that every enemy he ever captured faced a fair trial - sometimes forcing his friends to find creative ways of bringing dastardly villains to justice. Recently, while slain within the boundary of a lost city housing an entrapped evil deity, Raeon's body responded poorly to resurrection, shriveling into ash and leaving behind a holy symbol of the forgotten dark god.

Mardon, NG male dwarf fighter 12: Mardon is uncouth but honorable, a foulmouthed king's guard from the dwarven city of Stoneshear. (Notable Quote from our recent trip to a brothel to gather information: "I mean, why buy just one '10' when you can have eight '3's?!") A master of the dwarven axe and a skilled fighter, Mardon's specialty is preventing enemies from making it past him to the squishy casters behind him (Hold the Line).

Gnarl, CG male half-orc barbarian 12: A chieftain among his own people and a tower of intellect compared to his brethren, Gnarl plays the part of an utter fool to those who don't know him. Ruthbert MacLaen discovered the precocious half-orc's savvy when a slip of the tongue tipped off the wily mage, and a detect thoughts spell confirmed that Gnarl's simple-minded speech and poor logic were merely ruses to disguise his true cunning. A superstitious man by any measure, Gnarl has trained himself to identify and exterminate wicked spellcasters (Step Up and Strike, some weird witch hunter ability I'm not familiar with?).

Ruthbert MacLaen, TN male human witch 10/fighter 2: An eldritch knight just now coming into his own power as a swordsman, Ruthbert was a smith's apprentice before he picked up his familiar: a spider named Higgins who is a centuries-old repository of arcane lore. In his youth, he was impressed into the armies of an outsider warlord who bound Ruthbert within the ethereal plane for nearly 80 years and made him use his power against the denizens of the Prime Material. When freed from captivity, he returned to find that the world had changed drastically - but his youthful body had not. A dashing rake and a self-styled Renaissance man, Ruthbert excels at hexcraft, swordplay, painting, and crafting magic weapons and armor. He is never without his staff of fire and his custom-made rapier (+3 adamantine wounding evil outsider bane). He harbors much resentment toward the demon prince Graz'zt; their paths have crossed several times, always to opposing - and destructive - ends.

Molly Dingle - Gnome healbot Cleric 8/Pathfinder Cronicler 2
Kicked in the head by a goat as a child. Makes candy instead of potions.

Makoa - Half-Orc Fighter 10. 2WF w/ Orc Double Axe
Trying to rescue the dragon he's got a crush on.

Duncan McCloud - Cleric of Pharasma
Augment Summoning, Longsword, Full Plate
"Necromancer's Advocate"

[Database Error] - Minotaur Barbarian 6
Has a helmet that diguises him as a Viking
Only goes with us because he's addicted to Molly's candy

Page - Bard 10
not mute, just doesn't say anything

Tavnor - Rogue 2/ Sorcerer 8
"I'm not a caster, it's all because of this, my late mentor's staff"

Makes you wonder how we got this far huh?

I'm in a couple of games as a player, as well as running some. And the ones I am running usually have a GMPC because I want to play along with the players and/or we needed a gap filled. But to be fair, one of the other GMs does the same thing.

MY HOMEBREWED CAMPAIGN (BIWEEKLY)
is a bit overpowered on purpose

Beatrice the Golden (my GMPC) -- Sylph witch with a trickery patron, was kidnapped for a few sessions by her "father" (a necromancer lich, long story) to provide an adventure hook for the PCs. Was shamelessly named after the main character from my favorite VN. Chaotic Goodish. Is the adopted aunt of...

Sophia Aeremar-- Half-Celestial elf inquisitor whose father was the (rather swishy) Archangel Raphael. Has recently acquired a single member cohort from said father, an Arbiter named Akriel. Is officially Lawful Stupid due to GM bribery.

Dragsa Frostaxe -- Half-dragon barbarian/sorcerer who talks in hulk speak and is afraid of Sophia's father. A running joke is that the bad guys will be able to track us by the trail of quarter dragons left behind. Chaotic Good.

Rikkard de Carabas and his eidolon, Silla-Mima -- Human summoner, beloved of the homebrewed setting's cat goddess. His eidolon is actually a lesser form of that cat goddess. Chaotic Good.

Grolin -- Dwarven rogue, exceptionally greedy. Has already been brought back from the dead once. Is infamous for starting the whole disgusting trend of him and Dragsa relieving themselves on dead enemies. Chaotic neutral.

THE FLOCK (WEEKLY):
a campaign at my school in which we all can fly, sort of

Fabrillo and the Boulder -- Halfling roc-riding paladin and his pet roc. Not very smart. Only male PC (one of the female PCs is played by the other male player.) The roc can talk!

Morgana and Pebble -- Human (I think) druid and her roc animal companion. She sometimes animal shapes into very large birds. Pebble and the Boulder were nestmates.

Luz (me!) -- Gnome sorcerer (draconic bloodline), will be able to fly on her own power once she hits 15th level, until then she hitches a ride with Fabrillo.

???? -- Halfling rogue whose player didn't show up to the first session, so we're saying she's on a solo mission and will be catching up with us. Will be riding a flying clockwork dragonheaded duck when she does show, though.

FRIEND'S MAIN STAR WARS CAMPAIGN (WEEKLY):
is starting up again after a twenty-year time skip, first iteration was set during ANH

Roxaine -- Ex-Imperial Human tech/soldier. Used to be a mechanic on the prison ship the rest of the party met on, is now a starship captain with her own ship. Has self-healing force powers. Likes to bandage people with duct tape.

Zach (GMPC) -- Keldar Force Adept, has "adopted" Roxy as a daughter-figure. Is extremely old, but doesn't look it. May have accidentally nearly genocided a species at one point. Married to a pretty twi'lek.

Vidra -- Ewok scoundrel. Was kidnapped by Rodians and spent the first iteration of the campaign desperately trying to get home. Masterminded the Ewok Industrial Revolution when he finally got there.

Lalla (me!) -- Wookie Jedi Guardian, was field-promoted from padawan when her master died in the clone wars, finally became a real jedi after meeting Yoda. Eventually settled on Endor with Vidra to help with the E.I.R.

FRIEND'S CRACKED OUT STAR WARS CAMPAIGN (VERY INFREQUENT):
PCs are children stranded on Earth during the 80s

Jeff (GMPC) -- Babysitter droid. Tries to keep us out of trouble and make sure we eat things other than candy.

Pazuzu (me!) -- Gungan princess. Daughter of Jar Jar Binks. Currently in favor of conquering and enslaving the Earth if anything happens to...

Fortunata -- Twi'lek gunslinger and former slave. Has been kidnapped by the sinisterly French Dr Pierre Pierre and his CIA minions. Until she's rescued her player is also running...

Beretta -- Crazy awesome secret service agent, who is currently trying to help Jeff and Pazuzu recover Fortunata.

THE SHADOWRUN GAME (BI-WEEKLY)
which is done alternating with our Reign game

Zakari Makarov -- Cyborg elf one-woman army/street doc. Extremely badass.

Akane Levy (me!) -- Ork face/stunt driver. Don't eat her cookies.

Mho -- Troll mage. May have a future as a delivery boy.

The Ninja -- Dwarf ninja, has a name but I can't think of it at the moment. Likes to play Spiderman. Will probably join Mho in his delivery business.

The REIGN GAME (BI-WEEKLY):
which is set in Dark Sun and has become increasingly silly

James Fightmaster -- Arthurian knight type as well as pyromaniac. Enjoys getting in bar fights and losing them.

Svii -- Desert elf, used to speak in two word sentences but her common is better now. Basically Rambo.

Elvira (me!) -- Alien shoemaker who is trying to take over the world through fashion. Weapon specialities: stiletto heels and pervy thoughts.

And there's a Serpent's Skull campaign, but I already listen that in that part of the message board.

Dark Archive

I'm running Shackled City with the following cast:

Female Half-Elf Witch (Deception - patron is the jungle version of the Trickster archetype of mythology) - she's the sister of:

Female Half-Elf Druid (Tiger animal companion, not the highest wisdom for a druid, but decent physical stats - 14, 14, 16, I think).

Male Human Inquisitor of St. Cuthbert (runs around with a repeating crossbow)

Male Gnome Rogue (a locksmith from Sassarine who came to Cauldron in search of a master to teach him more; flirting with Skye)

Half-Orc Male Barbarian/Sorcerer (going for Dragon Disciple)
