New Pathfinder Adventure Card Game accessories now available!

I've found that some accessories really make a difference in game play and the character mats that Ultra-PRO makes for us for the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game truly does. Once you've played with them, you'll wonder why you ever played without them!

There are two different character mat packs for the Wrath of the Righteous Adventure Card Game, the Base Set Pack and the Character Add-On Pack. The Base Set Pack contains a single character mat for all seven playable characters that are included in the base set. These are Alain the cavalier, Balazar the summoner, Enora the arcanist, Harsk the ranger, Imrijka the inquisitor, Kyra the cleric, and Seelah the paladin.

The Character Add-On Pack contains mats for each of the playable characters from the Character Add-On Deck. These are Adowyn the hunter, Crowe the bloodrager, Seoni the sorcerer, and Shardra the shaman. Get both packs of mats and level up your Wrath of the Righteous Adventure Card Game!

Given the difficulty of Wrath, I might've picked "Save a prayer till the morning after."

I can say this: I have those mats, and they look rather cool up close and in reality. Even better than the S&S mats.

I have a set of the RotR, S&S and WotR mats along with Ranzak. Love 'em. Just waiting for Ekkie at this point.

I'd always ignored these mats, assuming they wouldn't work for our group: we play open-hand, and these mats seem to assume you don't play that way. But I got to thinking that there's no reason we couldn't lay out our cards on the table just above or just below this mat.

So my question is: does anyone else use these mats but also play open-hand by laying the cards down on the table as well? If so, how well does that work for you?

I do, and it works just fine. :)

I liked your recommendation so much Mike that I changed the title!

My two groups both do that.

My two groups both do that.

Are your two groups still hiring heroes?

I am glad I didn't suggest "Electric Barbarella" then.

My group too. It can get a little tight sometimes, but we make it work. I like having the playmat so I don't accidentally confuse my piles.

I do. It's not a big problem until you get too small of a table (size, not number of players).

And I'm sad you didn't.

Our group uses the mats and we play open hands. You can put your hand along the top half of the mat usually. I like how it organizes your discard from your hand.

We use the mats when doing Guild play; our organizers own them. So far we almost always forget about their power, but it's there if we need and remember it. The down side is that most of us also use printed character sheets, so together they cut down on available space quite a bit. (I'm thinking about creating character tents as an experiment.)

I'm not planning to buy the mats for home. I don't need more mousepads.
