Side A: great for Serpents Skull. Side B: mediocre for Ruins of Azlant?

3/5

GOOD:
The side with the jungle ruins/ziggurat is almost perfect.

BAD:
The underwater ruins side is not so useful because half of the roofs are still intact and it looks plain and uninspired (except for the giant clams and seaweed).

UGLY: -

Useful for jungle adventures, not so for underwater ones.

Ruins in a rainforest re.mind me of Serpents Skull.

Full on agreement here. Seriously, this seems to be one of the most versatile and useful flip-mats ever! :-)

Yay! I'm starting a Serpent's Skull game soon, so this will be perfect!

Liberty's Edge

Very nice and sound versatile enough to use for other game genres like Savage Worlds!

I didn't order this in my local flagstore because i don't know how it looks.

Also i don't like that my previous post has been deleted where i stated that this is supposed to be shipping to subscribers in 4 weeks.

Paizo's information politics lately are not good.
Most of the site was down the whole weekend and for almost 2 days no official information was offered about it and no estimated time when it would end.

Marco, no post was removed in this thread, and final description text/images should be available for this specific product sometime this week.

Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 5 PM, and likely because of the weekend, our tech team was not able to respond to the site issues. However, they have been fixed. In the future, please take this kind of feedback to our Website Feedback subforum, rather than our product threads.

Thank you for responding, Chris.

I guess my previous post was destroyed by the technical problems, as another post i did post in the website forum is gone too.

This is nothing personal against you or any other Paizo employee, i understand that if a mishap happens between business hours it will have to wait, i just would wish for an official information about it on the starting page.
That's how my company and most others i know handle this.
Thx for your great work. :-)

So looking forward to seeing it. After this super long wait I hope it meets the high expectations I have for this one :D

Hurrah!

Looks great. ^_^

The jungle ziggurat side looks great!
The underwater city is too unremarkable for my taste.

I will probably buy it.

Thx for the preview, Chris. :-)

Not impressed:-( not enough detail in the jungle side to my taste. No statues, plain walls...both sides with a jungle lost city would have been better and a separated underwater flip mat with 2 sides for a different release.

This is absolutely _perfect_ for the Primeval Thule campaign I have planned, particularly the jungle ruins side. I was bemoaning the fact that so far I only had jungle tile sets to use, the various blank battlemats, and the questionable jungle poster map from the otherwise-excellent

What I might do while I wait is craft up a 3D version of that pyramid temple to lay on it... if I get really ambitious ;)

For future reference, let me note that so many roofs on the Asian style side is bad for me. Like Noble Estate, it's a lot of wasted space. One or two houses with half-roofs would have been enough to do a rooftop battle encounter and the rest could have been used for ground level play space. It feels like you have a skewed opinion on how much gameplay actually takes place on rooftops. In my games at least it's a distinct minority and while the occasional depicted roof is good, by and large I don't need *that* many roofs.

Dark Archive

I agree with Samy (who means the underwater side i think).
Rooftops are not used often, no matter if fully intact or half-intact.

Interiors of buildings or more space is better.

There is the "map pack: rooftops" and i can always cover the buildings with a piece of paper, cardstock or plastic.

But i like the ziggurat side is very useful.

The other one seems to be underwater so fighting on rooftop isn't really a thing .-.
