Glad I bought it

5/5

This is a beautiful set of minis, all first rate!

The only way this could get any better would be if there was a way to somehow let Lini actually ride Droogani. (I always like that as an option when an Iconic has a riding companion or particularly important mount.)

Even without that, a very high-quality set!

Good Value

5/5

The iconic heroes sets are the best character minis that Wizkids have ever done. These sets give consumers good quality minis at a reasonable price.

The level of detail on their clothes, gear, and even tattoos are perfect, and couldn’t be any better. Most of the faces look good and contain a level of detail not found in other minis.

It's worth noting that all of the weapons in this set were straight.

Mini specific ratings:

Valeros: Good.

Seelah: Perfect, as good as the stock image. The best mini of the set.

Seoni: Good, but she's missing all of the gold embroidery in her dress.

Sajan: His belt and chest bands were colored light blue, but this is still a close second for best mini of the set. A very good Sajan.

Lini: Lini has a creepy look on her face. Besides the face they did a great job on a mini this small.

Droogami (Snow Leopard): I wish Droogami looked like his stock image! Unfortunately the mold has no details in his face and it looks like a big blob (although the artist did the best with what they had to work with). The saddle blanket is blue instead of green. Easily the worst mini of the set and more on par with the quality of Pathfinder Battles.

”Pathfinder Card Game Exclusive Cards”:

If you’re into organized play, you’re probably also interested in what the exclusive cards offer.

Fighter (item): Item that buffs constitution checks and allows potions to be recharged. The fighter class deck only has a potion of flying in adventure 3. Even so, this card will likely be used from adventure 3+. This card is too powerful for home play IMHO.

Paladin (armor): Helmet allows character to reveal or recharge to reduce all damage by 2. This card is ridiculously powerful and better than some adventure 6 armor. Needless to say it will be with you from start to end.

Sorcerer (item): Staff allows the character to recharge the item to scout. Useful to start a character and is likely useful for a few adventures.

Monk (weapon): +1 1H sword that allows blessings to be recharged to add a die to your Dex check. I'm assuming this weapon will be useful as soon as a weapon can be added to the deck until the end.

Druid (item): Reveal to add 2 to Survival/close location checks. Discard to exchange with an animal ally in the discard pile. Although I don't believe this is useful to RotRL Lini, I believe this will be extremely useful from start to end for the other druids.

Druid (ally): Recharge for D8 buff to Stealth or Perception. Allows character to move to another location and explore. Another extremely powerful card, will be with you from start to end.

Good product for the right price.

The only thing sexier.

5/5

Was the gent who delivered them to my hands.

Thank you Mr. EM.

There are rewards to being faithful and loyal to the veiled true master of Cheliax.

For those who already have the original Iconics I can say that these particular sculpts are much more detailed than their predecessors and the quality of the newer heroes is literally everything promised.

You know that game we all play where we name the actors who we want to play the Iconics? Well these sculpts can play the Iconics in the movie.

These guys are camera and close up ready. I kid you not, you could make short action movies with these guys and they won't need extra time in the make up chair nor will there be a need for them to hit the gym months before, these Iconics are sexy, sexy, sexy.

Be the first on your block to take these Iconics home.

[Bonus. I gave a set of the Heroes to one of my hard working PFS GM and now I have an extra feat. Take that rules lawyers! Give the gift of the Iconic Heroes to you favorite PFS GM today and make the rules lawyers weep.]

Beautiful!!

5/5

I do not know if I just got lucky or what, but my set that I ordered is just gorgeous. The quality of these minis is (to my eye at least) top notch. I've stood these next to some of the other minis I have that wear the name of the world's oldest role-playing game, and these 6 just knock them out of the park! Even my older Pathfinder Battles minis just do not compare to the detail of this Iconic set. My personal favorite is Sajan. I can't wait to set these down at my next session. As soon as the next set is available, I'll be snatching those up ASAP!!

Great but not perfect!

4/5

I bought 3 sets of this.

In all 3 boxes the monk (Sajan) and the sorcerers (Seoni) are perfect in every detail!

The shield of the paladin (Seelah) is a little convex on all 3 minis but the rest is perfect.

2 of the druid (Lini) minis are perfect, on one the face paint dripped a little (this makes her evil looking).

1 fighter (Valeros) mini has the hair painted a little on the face, the other 2 were painted perfect but the longsword was bended a little on these.

On 2 of the cat (Droogami) minis the eyes were painted on different heights so that it looks like it is leering, the other one was perfect.

The only thing that really bothers me are the bendy swords - the rest is not a big concern.

This box is great and definitely worth it´s money!

Edit: I compared the new minis to their old counterparts:
The new ones are much more detailed.
Example: Seoni the Sorceress now has braided hair that really stands off from her body and the tattoos are much more clearly visible.
The only odd thing is that the new iconics are all standing smaller against their old taller incarnations. Maybe half a head.

Edit: Be careful when you remove the small mini (Lini the druid) from the plastic. One leg came free from within the base but i could stick it inside again. The (medium)minis are very sturdy and could be pulled out without a problem.

Yes, interestingly, it is also available in France as of today (at almost twice the price from Paizo, but still).

Supposedly, WizKids has an European branch getting products directly from the Chinese manufacturer.

I'm just hoping someone breaks up a bunch of sets and sells them as singles.

As of today they are available in Germany too.

Is this released now? I see some in the EU can get it, but what about North America?

So, how are the cards to be put into play? Just add them to the box, or any special rules?

Each card has an "Owner" listed on it. If you are playing the character that is the listed owner, you can treat the card like it has the Basic trait. That means if you are the owner, you can use the cards in your starting deck when you first make your character. (As explained here.)

If you want to use the card, but for non-owners (or the owner doesn't want to start with it) you can just add them to the cards of the same type in your base set. Each rulebook so far has said not to add promos to the box until you start the first adventure. So if you weren't the owner, I'd assume that you would just add the others in when you started adventure 1.

Thanks for the explanation, Hawkmoon. What about adding the cards to an alreaddy ongoing game?

Shouldn't be an issue, since those of us who subscribe are consistently adding new promos to the game every month when we get them in our subscription packages. I'd say as long as you're at least playing adventure 1, you'd be fine to add them.

Pathfinder Maps, Pathfinder Accessories Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Charter Superscriber; Starfinder Charter Superscriber

Sounds plausible, yes.

And as Vic points out here, if you swap a card in your character deck for a promo card with the Basic trait (i.e. one your character is the owner of) it won't be destructive to the game. So if you happen to get the card your character owns in the middle of an adventure path and don't want to wait on the luck of the draw to reward you with your cool new card, I think you'd be fine to swap it. Unless it was organized play. In organized play I'd wait for some instructions from Tanis before just swapping them out.

The Exchange

Is this going to be sent out soon? I see a retailer website already has these available for purchase...

Today was WizKids' release date. They are no longer pre-order on the Paizo site, so I would assume that, as long as you haven't put them in your sidecart, they should expect to ship on the next 1 to 7 business days. They are listed in the March subscription thread as non-subscription product that can ship with March subscriptions.

Don't miniature subscribers get a discount on these? Shows I was charged $29. They are only $20 on miniature market, plus you can get free shipping. Why such a big price difference on Paizo and no subscriber discount?

Picked mine up last night. Very nice set. They are clearly better than the normal figures.

Well done Paizo and WizKids.

If you are a subscriber and you've had a subscription item ship (which has to happen before you get a discount on other products) then yes, you should be getting a discount. If you meet the criteria and didn't get charged the correct amount, post in the customer service thread and they will be happy to fix it for you.

Thanks will try that.

If these had come out as scheduled, they would have been able to ship with either my subscription PFACG S&S deck 5 in January or deck 6 in February. Now deck 6 has shipped.

Does that mean that since the Iconic set #1 came out 2/26 that I have to wait all the way until May for these minis (which I preordered) to ship out with the WotR PFACG base set? That seems punitive.

You can set your order of Iconic Heroes Set 1 to ship as soon as possible, that way you won't have to wait for you May subscription. Given how my subscription, which is only the card game, usually comes when I have just an adventure deck, I'm not sure you'd save that much on shipping cost by shipping them together anyway, since there is no way the minis are fitting inside the box I usually get my cards in.

Keep in mind, this is a Paizo licensed product, they don't set the street day, WizKids does. And also keep in mind that the reason it didn't come out when scheduled is due to a labor strike in all the ports up and down the West Coast. I'm sure Paizo and WizKids both really wish they could have gotten through the ports sooner, but the labor strike made that unpredictable.

EDIT: I checked shipping for me, your of course might be much different. Shipping Iconic Heroes Set 1 to me (I'm in Delaware) by itself, was $4.65. Shipping just an adventure deck to me, by itself, was $4.35. Shipping for them combined in one order was $9.00. That was choosing the cheapest option each time. So combining the two into one order does not save you on shipping. Your rates, shipping preferences, location, and mileage may vary.

This set is great. The detail is really crisp. I hope this is the direction that all the miniatures are taking.

I just got my set from my FLGS. I never got any of the other Pathfinder Battles minis or any pre-painted RPG minis for that matter, but these really do look great! I'm glad that the card game promos gave me just enough of a push to start buying these now. I'll probably get all of the sets as the come out, budget willing, and hopefully also get some other Battles minis as well.

Yeah, these are awesome. The figures, the cards, everything. I've never bought minis before, and the image of Lin's digital sculpt had me worried with how yellow she looked. But she looks great in the final product. They all look great.

Love these, but bummed to see that my favorite character, Lem, isn't in any of the announced sets. When are we going to see the little guy join his companions?

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

Lem will be in a future set. (We didn't want to load too many small minis into one box, or people would feel cheated, and since many of the companion animals are small but need to be in the same box as their iconic counterpart, Lem ended up having to wait a little bit.)

Let me off the bench, coach. I'm ready to play!

Without mentioning specific numbers, are orders proceeding as well as/better than expected? I am hoping for the announcement of additional sets and it was pretty clear from the outset that the number and variety of future iconic sets are strongly contingent on the early sets doing well...

The first six sets, which will cover all pre-Occult iconics, are already committed to. Though I'm also curious if they are doing well.

Also peg me as curious to the sales so far. My set came from Amazon, having almost thirty in stock when I ordered about two weeks ago. Their stock is down to five right now. I imagine most people ordered through Paizo or other hobby etailer. My hope is set 2 comes out by the 28th so I can add it to an order of other miniatures from Paizo. I am definitely in for the full six sets slated so far. I wanted better tokens for the PACG and the owner boons are a huge bonus that tipped me over. If the line does well I would like to see it morph into also having Iconic NPCs and Villians mixed in with the Heroes. Something like every three months would put me in for a subscription, if made available. The current pace is good for getting the main Heroic Iconics released.

That would break it off from being a crossover product with the card game. I'm not saying it wouldn't sell, I don't have any idea what will sell, just that at least a good portion of people are buying because it adds to the card game. I know that is why I'm buying. These are the only minis I own or plan to own. If they did the card game characters from the class decks, I'd buy those too. I'd buy the Occult iconics on the assumption they'd eventually appear in the card game. But if it starts to be something I can't use in the card game, I wouldn't buy.

Again, not saying your idea wouldn't be a good one or wouldn't sell, just that the sales of the current line wouldn't be a good predictor of how well something like that would sell.

I bought the first set, and will likely buy the second, simply because they're really handy to have for folks playing PFS pregens. Beyond the core iconic characters, though, $5 a mini is just too high (for me).

Edit: I also don't play the card game. I appreciate that these sets may offer additional value to those who do.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

Understood. I suppose with the Class Deck characters and the Occult Iconics we could easily fill out another six sets already. 23 Class deck characters so far (including Paladin), 6 Occult heroes, plus presumably another load from future class decks. That would be more than plenty and I assume more character options would present themselves down the line. With this focused on PC type characters only I could see it maintaining for a couple years at least. I was thinking mixed sets with other types of characters could come with promo banes/scenarios that had strange options.

So got my box today and was very pleased with the paint jobs, especially in relation to the other packs I have. The one big problem I had was that Seoni did not have an arm and valeros and sajan where loose in the box.

If someone could tell me how to get a replacement of Seoni?

I'm sorry to hear that! Please email customer service a picture that we can pass along to quality control. We are still determining what the replacement procedures for these may be, but will follow up with you as soon as we know more.

Hey, I just got this box of minis, and I have to say, they're really spiffy.

Any chance we're going to get a 'Big Box of Geekiness' (referencing the game Smash Up) to stash multiple sets of minis in? That would be rad.

Will this set be reissued at anytime? I missed it due to money issues and hoping to start collecting now. Even if it wasn't for selfish reasons I think a reissue would sell well.

Thanks,

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

My understanding is that WizKids is currently contemplating that.

Any chance these might become available again? I have recently discovered the Card Game and would love a set of these characters.

Will there be any restock of any of the Pathfinder Battles: Iconic Heroes Sets 1,2,3 and 6? I can’t find them anywhere!

I am also looking for these, set 2 and 6 are able to be ordered but they are on backorder. Set 1 and 3 is showing unavailable, does that mean they won't make anymore?
