With this face deck in hand, you will have almost every major face card you will need to run all of the great Pathfinder Society scenarios that are out there. You have famous and infamous names alike from your favorite Varisian venture-captain Sheila Heidmarch to the curator of the Blakros Museum and everyone in between.
This deck makes these scenarios come to life and your players will really learn to differentiate between all of the important NPCs in the Pathfinder Society. Must have purchase!!!
I have to hand it to you guys, these cards are fantastic! It's so nice to be able to pull them out and show players who they're talking to. Not only do they include (un)popular Venture-Captains and others closely connected to the Society, but also reoccurring NPCs and NPCs from the more "social" themed scenarios like Blakros Matrimony.
I'd love to see more put out and eventually have all the portraits in every scenario, but I know that'd be asking for a lot. :)
If you GM a lot for PFS these are definitely a great tool to have in your GM kit.
Will DEFINITELY be ordering this! Especially since I'm starting to run more PFS games than I had previously, it would be great to be able to pull out the card and display it when I'm reading in the voice of a venture captain at the start of a scenario!
I was *just* writing a MB post recommending a product just like this. And I thought "hey, I should check that there's not something like this already", to make sure there's not a product from 5 years ago that I forgot about.
And here it is.
Amazing! I know I'll be getting a deck. I've been tempted to do something like this on my own, but now I just need to be patient and wait until December. (Sounds like a great Christmas gift for any PFS judges you want to show your appreciation to!)
Hurray. No more cutting and pasting pictures from the PDF's with the horrible black backgrounds. I just bought a couple of the face cards decks from local retailer as Im running a PFS session this weekend that requires investigation by players. The face cards help to keep things straight.

Been using print screen to make a copy of the faces, then removing the text from the picture.
Been liking the face cards and can't wait till this one comes out. Been using random cards for those times I need a face when there isn't one to be had in the material, like The Merchant's Wake... Wish they would remake some of the older decks.
Here's hoping the cards feature the face and name one side, and a more detailed description of the character's personality and possibly a quirk/mannerism. Easier to check from a card than to plow through a scenario searching for the right paragraph.
This is great to have, but there's one thing that my fellow GMs have been holding out for as well. PFS Pawns. It's easier to pull out what you need for each scenario if there's a specific pawn. Maybe a season's worth? Just a suggestion. For now the cards will help.
So 2/3 of the characters on the cover have already been released in previous card sets. Can anyone tell me how many of the cards in this set will be of characters who haven't been put in card form before?
Aram and Ambrus were both included in the Urban NPCs set, with the same artwork that's shown on the cover image above. There was a Sheila Heidmarch card included with the Shattered Star set, but it was with different artwork. I have every set of Face Cards that has been released so far, and I don't believe that the image of Sheila (if that is indeed who is on the cover image above) that is shown here has been released on a card before.
It will be the naked version.
But we wil see only his face as this is a face cards product. ;-)
I hope that the cards have the proper names of the characters on them and are not as generic as the others are.
To me that is the biggest problem with these cards.
I understand that there are people who want to use these cards for other RPGs but with this set (or face cards in general) it makes little to no sense if there are no names on the cards.
They've put names on the cards for the last five sets, so I imagine they'll probably include them in this set, as well.
Does anyone know what percentage (roughly) of these cards use art that wasn't in a previous set? I know that at least one of the characters on the new cover was in a previous set.
Personally, when I was told these were going to be created last Gencon I was so incredibly excited. I was told there they should be released sometime in oct/nov. So I patiently wanted. I checked the website around that time to see when the release date was, it was pushed backed to Jan. Since then the release date has been moved back to March and now May. That is 4 different releases. I am so incredibly disappointed by all of this. I understand that it is just face cards, but this has been the only new release I have been excited about in the 2014-2015 product line.
Since the animal allies deck (mid 2013) no list of included cards was shared in the descriptions for face card decks.
It might be that one of the people who gets it in the next couple of days will provide us with a list. I know I won't type it down when I get mine in a few weeks (shipping to Europe), typing data has never been a hobby for me.
