Appearance-
With the classical bronze skin of a true Taldan, the young man known as Xantrius Casmirre has the stereotypical small green eyes and well-groomed beard so often associated with his people. Xantrius stands at 6 feet tall, and is a little heavier than average in build. Xantrius is a handsome man and is perhaps at first glance, a little too pretty for a life as a pirate. His muscles are well toned and visible on the clothing he chooses to wear. He has extremely white teeth and dazzling eyes.

Backstory-
His life in Taldor was fairly unremarkable in his early years. The son of minor nobility, he was well brought up, educated and raised in Cassomir; the nation's main port- and in the classic Taldane way, he dabbled in many different skills and callings; eventually combining his dabbling into enough of a skillset (with a little magic mixed in) to become capable in his own right. His family was not important enough to merit him an lucrative family position in government and despite being a charismatic and friendly, free-spirited young man Xantrius struggled to find work as he roamed Cassomir.

Eventually, he felt drawn to the sea. He grew sick of the bureaucracy of Cassomir and to a lesser extent, Taldor itself. A life as a privateer serving in the fleet of Jean Coremont, the Lion of Taldor, seemed to call to him. He wanted to see the ocean, to become a swashbuckler under the legendary sea captain. It took some time, but eventually he talked his way onto one of Coremont's ships where he found a unique role for himself 'motivating' the rowers; whether with Oratory, Comedy, Intimidation or his whip. He also proudly bore the Lion of Taldor's flag as it went into battle, usually involving himself in the second or third wave of boarding with the less experienced crew members.

One day though, he got carried away with his whipping. One of the oar crew caught him on his own and confronted him with the intention of slaying him- and when the rest of the crew ran over to see what all the commotion was about Xantrius was standing over a dead man. The death had been self-defence and in truth, accidental; but he had no way to prove it.

Popularity with the crew did not help Xantrius' testimony and he was imprisoned within his own vessel to await trial in Cassomir. One of his crewmates and a couple of closer friends picked the lock on his cell door and incredibly grateful, he informed his allies that they should seek him out in a year or two if they ever got tired of corsairing for Taldor, as he now intended to acquire his own ship to sail the seas.

He leapt overboard as the ship was approaching harbour, snuck onto a merchant vessel and stowed away; he knew he would never be able to return to Taldor a free man, at least not without large sums of money to the right people. He ended up in Port Peril of all places and after a few drinks at the Formidable Maid, strolled down to the docks and looked out to sea, beginning to formulate a plan to acquire his own vessel.

Deep in thought and a little self-absorbed at the best of times, he never heard the soft footsteps behind him- but he felt the thunderous blow dealt to his head just before he crumpled to the ground.

Personality-
Xantrius is a free spirit, making decisions on whims and loose ethics- an individualist at heart. He is more benevolent than malign but only a little- he likes to think he is a far nobler man than he truly is. He does however, understand the importance of cultivating friends and allies wherever he can and is skilled at making them. He is eternally optimistic, rarely discouraged by failure or rebuffal and friendly to a fault. Even in battle, he is often a little more bravado than true prowess; whirling his scorpion whip around him in menacing arcs and brandishing his sawtooth sabre- hoping the sight of the rare type of blade might be another edge over his opponents. His one particularly contrary trait to his overall nature is a fierce loyalty to a cause he himself has volunteered for- a particularly Taldan attitude that helped him to cope in the strict, regimented life aboard Jean Coremont's fleet. He is ambitious and unafraid to lead by example; although an intelligent man and a natural leader his schemes have a tendency to be reckless and he can lack common sense.

Distinctive Characteristics-

He has a few distinctive characteristics including-

1. A tendency to wink when talking to accentuate or emphasise, irrespective of the gender of who he is speaking to.

2. He has the traditional Taldan sense of pride but is either lacking their dismissive, self-important world view or conceals it very well. He does not think of Taldor as the world's centre where anything happening outside it is of less importance or note. He also lacks the typical Taldan misogyny, a trait that makes him popular with women who expect a far less fair approach from a Taldan man.

3. Uses a persons name a lot when talking to them.

4. Gives companions nicknames.

5. (OOC)Will develop his own battle cries and catchphrases during the game's progress(/OOC)

6. A refusal to partake in the killing of women and children. Often tries to take foes alive rather than slay them, depending on their perceived threat.

Treasure gained- 375GP, potion of cure moderate wounds.

Items gained- Masterwork short sword, chain shirt.
