Feats
Scribe Scroll (bonus): Can create a scroll of any spell known.

Spell Focus (Conjuration) (L1): +1 save DC for conjuration spells.

Scholar (human bonus): +2 on Knowledge (arcana) and Knowledge (planes) skill checks.

Augment Summoning (L3): Summoned creatures gain +4 STR and +4 CON.

Improved Initiative (L5): You get a +4 bonus on initiative checks.

Fast Study (L5 wizard bonus; arcane discovery): Normally, a wizard spends 1 hour preparing all of his spells for the day, or proportionately less if he only prepares some spells, with a minimum of 15 minutes of preparation. Thanks to mental discipline and clever mnemonics, you can prepare all of your spells in only 15 minutes, and your minimum preparation time is only 1 minute. You must be at least a 5th-level wizard to select this discovery.

Superior Summoning (L7): Each time you cast a summoning spell that conjures more than one creature, add one to the total number of creatures summoned.

Craft Wondrous Item (L9): You can create a wide variety of magic wondrous items. Crafting a wondrous item takes 1 day for each 1,000 gp in its price. To create a wondrous item, you must use up raw materials costing half of its base price. See the magic item creation rules in Magic Items for more information.

You can also mend a broken wondrous item if it is one that you could make. Doing so costs half the raw materials and half the time it would take to craft that item.

Traits:

Chance Savior: Fate smiled on you and Professor Lorrimor one day in the not so distant past. Through a matter of pure chance, you were in a position to save the late scholar’s life and did so. His gratitude was effusive, and he promised that he would never forget you. You are unsure of the nature of the summons in his will, but believe he may have listed you as a possible heir in thanks for saving him from an untimely demise.

Your ability to think quickly on your feet has stayed with you, and you quite often feel that you’re in the right place at the right time. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Initiative checks.

Deep Cover: You have lived a double life since your youth, perhaps to avoid persecution for your true identity or in service to an enemy of the people or group associated with your cover identity. You can always take 10 on Bluff and Disguise checks to assume and maintain your cover identity. Bluff or Disguise (your choice-Bluff) is a class skill for you.

SPECIAL ABILITIES
Favored Class: Wizard. +1 SR at first through eighth levels

Arcane Bond: Amulet. Once per day, Pontia can cast any one spell in her spellbook through the amulet, even if she has not memorized it for the day.

Summoner's Charm: Whenever Pontia casts a conjuration (summoning) spell, the duration is increased by a number of rounds equal to 1/2 her wizard level (minimum 1).

Acid Dart: As a standard action, Pontia can unleash an acid dart targeting any foe within 30 feet as a ranged touch attack. The acid dart deals 1d6 points of acid damage +1 for every 2 wizard levels. The attack ignores spell resistance. (9*/day)

Dimensional Steps (Sp): At 8th level, you can use this ability to teleport up to 30 feet per wizard level per day as a standard action (240'). This teleportation must be used in 5-foot increments and such movement does not provoke an attack of opportunity. You can bring other willing creatures with you, but you must expend an equal amount of distance for each additional creature brought with you.

Pontia is tall and slender, with short black hair and dark eyes. She typically dresses in modest and practical wizard's robes, and puts little or no effort into dressing well or looking good; her hair is short because it's less trouble that way, and she's not particularly interested in working to be attractive. Most of the time she comes across as disinterested and aloof, but that's because she spends a lot of time thinking and doesn't put much effort into presentation (except when she's teaching). It's not that she's rude, it's just that social activities don't interest her very much.

Religion:

Background: From Pontia's name and arcane specialty, it's no surprise that she hails from Cheliax. She is the daughter and student of the late Titus Canario, a teacher of conjuration to Chelaxian petty nobility for many years and a longtime colleague of Professor Lorrimor's. It was during her studies that Pontia became acquainted with the Professor, and the two carried on a correspondence that continued throughout her travels.

Following Titus' death, Pontia left the intrigues and deviltry of Cheliax--first for Absalom, where she spent time studying at the Arcanamirum, and then to the Mwangi Expanse, where she studied at the Magaambya and showed the Tempest-Sun Mages there techniques of Chelaxian wizardry. She still keeps a small colored-glass wind chime as a memento of her time in Nantambu. Although she was tempted to remain in Sargava, she chose instead to return to Absalom. It was there that news of Lorrimor's death reached her. As soon as she was able, she set out for Ustalav. After a pause in Ravengro to visit the Professor's grave, she followed the band of adventurers who had been commissioned by Lorrimor to carry out his final wishes.

Pontia is tall and slender, with short black hair and dark eyes. She typically dresses in modest and practical wizard's robes, and puts little or no effort into dressing well or looking good; her hair is short because it's less trouble that way, and she's more than had her fill of working to be attractive. Most of the time she comes across as disinterested and aloof, but that's because she spends a lot of time thinking and doesn't put much effort into presentation (except when she's teaching). It's not that she's rude, it's just that social activities don't interest her very much. Her usually calm manner disguises a razor wit, generally only employed on recalcitrant students.

Religion: Pontia is a reasonably devout Asmodean.

Pontia has not led a sheltered life. She was born in Magnimar to a Varisan mother, the result of a single night's tryst with a Chelaxian visitor. Her mother named her Anca, and when she was very young made the ultimately fatal mistake of trying to find Anca's father in Westcrown. Fortunately for young Anca, she at least looked Chelaxian, so after her mother died she wasn't persecuted too badly in the gang of homeless children she fell in with. She soon realized that a life on the streets was all too likely to be brutish and short, and resolved that she would one day make something of herself.

Her first way off the streets came when she began to grow into a moderately attractive young woman. Prostitution was not what she wanted to end up doing, but it was at least a chance to make enough money to satisfy her intellectual appetites (and the laws of Cheliax offered her some small amount of protection from abusive pimps and customers). For her towering intellect would not be denied. Finally, after years of barely tolerated unpleasant work only undertaken to purchase the tomes she craved, she became a wizard and left prostitution forever. As a sign of that she changed her name and (with his permission and blessing) took the family name of Titus Canario, her tutor in wizardry.

With her past behind her and in name and appearance a true Chelaxian, she relocated to Egorian. There, using Titus' contacts, she set herself up as a tutor for the children of noble families, which the elder Canario had likewise done before the Thrune Ascendancy.

It's not that she's rude, it's just that social activities don't interest her very much.

Religion: Pontia has no truck with the worship of Asmodeus, though she knows better than to openly profess that opinion. She primarily follows the faith of Abadar, seeing in the Judge of the Gods a patron of orderly civilization, although like many arcanists and scholars she also reveres Nethys.

Background: Pontia has not led a sheltered life. She was born in Magnimar to a Varisan mother, the result of a single night's tryst with a Chelaxian visitor. Her mother named her Anca, and when she was very young made the ultimately fatal mistake of trying to find Anca's father in Westcrown. As a sign of that she changed her name and (with his permission and blessing) took the family name of Titus Canario, her tutor in wizardry.

But her success as a scholar and wizard in Westcrown couldn't fully erase the stigma she carried from her upbringing (or lack thereof). More than that, she knew that there were countless others like her on the streets and alleys of Westcrown, a vast sea of wasted human potential. For the sake of all those might-be Pontias, someone had to do something. Something had to change.

These days, she spends most of her time on scholarship, wizardry, and investigating ways and means for changing things in Westcrown for the better. She's quite enthusiastic about all of these, but she lives for scholarly discussions...preferably in venues where her history, appearance, and gender are immaterial.

Notes & Useful Pastes: Pontia has two Hero Points.
