With the upcoming EE11 settlement changes, PFU has decided to close our auction house. Just like when any business closes, we want to have a spectacular sale (but this one is a little different).

Details:

As always, we have starter gear in the auction house for rock bottom prices (last check there were 9 swords for 1c each). Please realize those are there to help new players, so be respectful (i.e. don’t buy them just to horde them as others need them). We will try to keep our ‘vending machine’ stocked.

We will also be listing other items as we clean out our basement, so there will be maneuvers, spells, etc. Anything not starter gear will be at lower than market prices, but not 1c. :)

BUT>>>>>

We will be BUYING EVERYTHING! This is your chance to clean out your bank and use those mules. We will buy degraded, or any other type. Just list the items below for the prices listed, and we guarantee they will sell. Anything not listed, we will buy for 1c each. (refilling the vending machine). That means leftover anything, 1c (recipes, salvage, raw, refined, even tansy leaves, only thing we will not buy are tokens).

Tier 1 Raw (Any material that can serve for these go for the same price including salvage)
Animal Pelt 5c
Beast Pelt 5c
Coal 8c
Copper 5c
Green 8c
Hemp 8c
Iron 8c
Lesser Vital - 5c
Pine 5c
Weak Adhesive 8c
Weak Acidic - 5c
Weak Antiseptic - 5c
Wool 5c
Yellow 8c
Yew 5c

Tier 2 Raw
Anagogic Essence 10c
Blue 10c
Creature Pelt 10c
Gold 10c
Lodestone 10c
Moderate Adhesive 10c
Moderate Sanguine - 15c
Moderate Stimulant - 10c
Moderate Tonic - 10c
Oak Log 10c

We have listed saddlebags on both the TK and UC auction houses for 3 Silver, so you can load up both ways! Plus mules are fun! (listed under Consum, Follower)

***NOTE: You may be able to get higher prices elsewhere in the map, but this is what we can offer at University Commons, especially when we are committing to buying everything. Location does matter.

***We will update this post as things fill up (which may mean the prices lowering) or if you manage to run us out of Gold….

Anyone who helps wipe out ogg is volunteering to wipe him out if he spawns near the new university commons. We moved to the other side of the map to get rid of him and won't be happy if he shows up again.

I have more invites if anyone wants them. Just sent me your email. you can email hoffmanpfu@gmail.com

A little clarification from PFU's standpoint. We have been very lucky to have the support of the vast majority of the server. When we needed help with Ogg we had a great response which even included a joint effort from EBA, Golgotha, EL and others.

We do not 'direct' students to any company. Students tend to pick the group who impressed them most. That includes who teaches classes, hangs out in our mumble, support our events, etc. There definitely is a component of the larger groups getting more as they participate more. The three most active groups with us are the Aeonian League, EBA EL, and Golgotha.

So .02 from PFU.

1. Thanks for the content creation, my popcorn pile is disappearing quickly.
2. Not going to weigh in on the numbers or politics of the battle but we really should do a bard type story about the whole thing.
3. PFU is really fortunate to be no where near the battle and plan on continuing to be neutral. That means that all are welcome in our classes (and we expect everyone to abide by the PFU rules as appropriate). We will be running some escalations soon (gotta get rid of OGG again) and maybe it can provide a chance for everyone to play together and blow off some steam.
4. PFU has been very fortunate to deal with all players in the server and can attest they have all held true to the PFU rules (including not attacking new players). This holds true for Aeonian League, EBA, EoX (Golgotha), UNC, etc.

Keep creating content and if you want a place to debate the politics, I will gladly host a PFU event. :)

So with the new influence system giving backdated influence as of April 1st, every player should try to join a company before then (ie right now). Besides the influence you also gain better training and a group to travel with. There is a forum for recruitment here. You do not have to move all of your treasures from Marchmont or the like but being part of a company is being part of the game. Just about all companies are actively recruiting (including Pathfinder University) and the best gift you can give them is to join before April 1st.

Pathfinder University has been lucky to have wide server support. We crowdforged the following requests/rules of the University and our territory. They have been publicly supported by The Aeonian League, Everbloom Alliance, Emerald Lodge, Free Highlanders, Empire of Xeilias, High Road Covenant and Nation of Kathalpas. We at PFU truly appreciate their support and know we need earn their support everyday and we will strive to do just that.

Rules and requests of PFU (of other companies):

  • Anyone having trouble with a student should first PM Hoffman. Students will be given 1 warning and then kicked from PFU. Please do not publicly attack students in the forums as they sometimes don’t know better.
  • PFU would like to hold 6 towers (as were ceded to us by Aeonian League and EBA)
  • PFU would like to claim the territory two hexes from RiverBank as university grounds (i.e. the core six and any hexes that directly connect to a core six hex, even though a few of those are off the map right now). Within the claimed hexes:
  • Please NO PVP in the University hexes unless as part of an exercise (i.e. PFU sanctioned class). Also please do not camp outside the hexes or try to trap members to come out of the hex (i.e. don’t set yourself up on a route with the INTENT of getting new players. If new players are outside of the University hexes, or trespassing on your territory, feel free to follow your own rules.)
  • Feel free to help with our escalations, but please take a couple students with you. Any loot from the escalation that you don’t need or want, please donate to the University.
  • Please leave the resources (nodes) in these hexes for University gathering. If you have to gather in these hexes (for some reason) please donate anything you do not need to the University.
  • Please do not place any holdings in these hexes unless you are a member of the University. When a member leaves the University they should take their holding with them (i.e. take your small holding to where you go).
  • Husks will most likely be from a student, so no looting husks unless you already have contacted a student or faculty to turn the stuff into.
  • Use the University mumble (golarion.mumble.com port 3093) to reach people in the University if you need anything (such as students to go on escalations). Everyone in the mumble should have a company tag. Please do not use the Pathfinder University channel for things that go against the PFU rules.

There is one RULE NOT REQUEST: The University hexes, resources or the like (including the mumble) may not be used for ‘staging’ a war or otherwise using the land for PVP purposes (i.e. don’t all meet up in PFU hexes to go take out another place).

The intent of the above is to make a semi-safe area for new players to grow.

Side note PFU Faculty have agreed upon a pact that if any time PFU becomes a political power, not neutral or the like, it will implode. Namely Foxglove (among others) have agreed to assassinate Hoffman (or anyone else in the Dean position) should the power be abused.

About the Pathfinder University – PFU

Pathfinder University (PFU) is a company and home for new players (in their first 90 days) that provides support, training (including regular classes) and fun for those who are just learning PFO. A player can only be a member of the Pathfinder University for their first 90 days. After their first 90 days they need to move to another company in PFO (they are welcome to leave at any time). The intent of the Pathfinder University is to give people a place to grow, try things out, and then move to the right company/settlement for them. Pathfinder University will be a collaborative (sharing in resources and supplies) and will have regularly scheduled events and classes.

PFU holds daily classes or events. All of them meet on the university mumble: golarion.mumble.com port 3093. You can download the mumble client at http://www.mumble.com The class schedule/list is at http://class.pathfinderuniversity.com and recordings of some of the classes are available at http://youtube.pathfinderuniversity.com.

Pathfinder University holds RiverBank as a training grounds for those who want to try out settlement mechanics and the like. RiverBank (University Commons) is an unaligned, neutral settlement located in the South West Plains [-09.18]

Pathfinder University will have an officer structure to allow people a chance to lead the company but will ultimately report to PFU Faculty. In this way the PFU Faculty are the only ‘permanent’ officers of the

To join PFU, click on the tower icon in the top left, put PFU in search bar, hit return, select Pathfinder University and then click apply.

    Rules of the Pathfinder University
    • No PVP within RiverBank or the six core hexes surrounding RiverBank unless it is in a tower pvp window or a Pathfinder University sanctioned event (i.e. a class on PVP).
    • Pathfinder University is not allowed to take any towers, unless as part of a class.
    • We follow the two rules of RiverBank: 1. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you and 2. Don’t be a jerk.
    • Pathfinder University members are not allowed to make or sign any treaties or long term agreements. Trade agreements or the like must be time limited (i.e. no more than 90 days).
    • Donate what you don’t need to others. PFU takes donations from everyone and tries to give them items they need in return. (pay it forward)
    • Being part of Pathfinder University is a privilege and subject to following the rules above.

Pathfinder University Faculty staff the help channel, RiverBank and the University mumble.

    Golarion/University Mumble Server
    Address: golarion.mumble.com
    Port: 3093
    Join the Pathfinder University channel

If you haven't tried Mumble it is a voice chat program that can be downloaded here. You do not have to have a microphone for your computer as you can still type, but at least you will be able to hear the conversations. If you have trouble with mumble, their support page is here.

If you cannot get on Mumble, we will also be providing support in the Help channel (just click on the help tab and it should come up). Keep in mind that when you are in help you cannot see any whispers, so occasionally look in hex or local. To send a whisper type /w charactername, message (the comma is important) and to reply you can just type /r message.

Additionally, I (and others) will be in and/or around RiverBank to help players. That means if you need gear (FREE to new players), want to go exploring, or just want to meet someone in game, come to RiverBank. To get to RiverBank, Press M for map, look towards the SouthWest for RiverBank. Double click on RiverBank and that will drop a pin that you can follow on your minimap and start running. To continuously run hit R and you can then sprint by hitting Ctrl.

As a side note, most everything is in the encyclopedic 'Cheatle's Guide'. This guide is both a guide itself and a guide to guides. For those who prefer more pictures and a prettier guide, check out SSpitfire's guide. There is also a guide for your first 15 days here.

If you have questions about PFU, please feel free to contact Hoffman Grand Master of PFU.

Pathfinder University also accepts companies as members.

If you are an unaligned company and looking for a home, you and your company can join PFU for 90 days. This will give you a settlement to work out of (RiverBank) along with advanced training. You need to abide by all university rules but there are opportunities for you to build your company before finding your final ‘home. Contact Hoffman Grand Master of PFU.

It is time to break the chain. As part of its neighborhood beautification project Pathfinder University is holding an event to clear the escalation south west of Hope's End (-11.14). We will be meeting in the hex at 3PM Eastern (2 hours after server reset) Today Sunday March 29th.

Join us on the University mumble at golarion.mumble.com port 3093. You can download the mumble client at http://www.mumble.com. You do not have to have a mic to use mumble as you can listen to the coordination and type as needed.

This is a Pathfinder University sponsored event. That means no PVP in the hex, and PFU will be providing supplies for anyone who needs it (we will be opening the RiverBank bank to provide supplies). We do ask that if you join the event to donate the stuff you don't need to the University but no requirement.

Pathfinder University is a company for new players in their first 90 days. We hold daily events, and welcome everyone. Our classes are open to everyone, and the schedule is at http://class.pathfinderuniversity.com

Stephen has agreed to answer our questions (as best as he can) and Hoffman will be the moderator. What that means is you can post your questions here, PM them to Hoffman and/or ask them via PM in Mumble during the event. I am going to try to ask Stephen questions that impact the most players first, and during the event will be watching Hex chat for follow up questions.

    Bottom line details:

With the new patch Bandits (and most others) are getting a LOT harder. With that in mind, Pathfinder University has decided to Break the Broken Men (specifically at -7,16 (two hexes North East of RiverBank)) today, Sunday, 3/22 at 3PM EST.

Join us and wipe out those filthy bandits. Bring a group down, or just yourself and rid the River Kingdom of this scourge.

We will be on the University mumble at golarion.mumble.com port 3093. I will be playing one of my alts, Ninti so you can also whisper me there. The last time we invited the server to do an escalation was a lot of fun and this one should be able to be joined by all.

    Government and politics debate - Wednesday 3/18, 9PM EST University/Golarion Mumble - Golarion.mumble.com port 3093.

Current Panel is: (Panel please show up 10 minutes early for check-in)

    Omnipotentseal - Aeonian League
    Cheatle - EBA
    Thod - Emerald Lodge
    Fanndis Goldbraid - Free Highlanders
    Tigari - Golgotha/EoX
    Azure_Zero High Road Covenant
    Bluddwolf - Nation of Kathalphas

Based on feedback and suggestions, the session will go as follows:

Everyone on the panel will get a 2 minute opening statement. This should include:
Who they are and who they represent
    What land they claim
What are the rules of their land

Next we will rotate through questions such as:
What do the River Kingdom freedoms mean to your group?
What is your stance on PVP and retaliation?
Two part: Would you encourage all groups to join a major alliance? how many power blocks do you see as optimal for the game as a whole (not just for your settlement specifically)?
Will you welcome/allow new groups to build settlements close to yours, or do you claim the empty settlement spots within your borders?
What is the role of the forums (GW/Paizo) in your game/government?
Who can 'speak' for your group (especially on the forums) and what happens if a member decides to go against the grain?
Do you support PFU and the University’s Rules/Requests?

I will ask a question and each person will have 1-2 minutes to answer (depending on the question), and an option for a 30 second rebuttal. Questions are not necessarily in order and the goal would be to have the debate have a flow. I reserve the right to ask any other questions I come up with, including discussing differences between the answers of the groups (i.e. I will probably probe for more on key things).

The Mumble is limited to the first 75 participants but it will be recorded and put up with the rest of the videos at http://youtube.pathfinderuniversity.com

Foxglove, we need to sign Bluddwolf up! Great idea

    Goblin Squad Member

This thread was created for discussion and crowd forging so I appreciate it all. From the beginning I have tried to take as many perspectives into consideration for PFU. We do not currently have a 'board' but what most can attest to is that I regularly seek and use the feedback of the community to shape PFU. I need to think a bit more about formal structures and this discussion has helped me move in that direction. (I have also spent quite a bit of time irl working with volunteer organizations and have actually written multiple books about volunteer management so I get what you are talking about.)

My current management design is to be transparent, take feedback from as many as possible but ultimately I am trying to make the best decisions for PFU. PFU is not a democracy but people are welcome to vote with their feet (by walking away) or swords (then again it seems that a few students want to make hunting Hoffman an exercise for 'graduation' from PFU which my armor does not appreciate :)).

Our structure is very lean right now and is as follows:

Hoffman - Dean (handles all major decisions, politics, and outside relations)
Foxglove - Chair of the Curriculum (all of the classes, schedules, etc)
Vorsk - Chair of Students (recruitment, keeping students in line, etc)

Our full time faculty (people who dedicate their playtime to PFU) include: Nactillius, Auriga, Aurora, SSpitfire

Our regular teachers include Duffy, Thannon Foresworn, SSpitfire, Cheatle, GW Staff and hopefully Guurzak, Midnight/Savage Grace and Pino.

We hope to grow our regular teachers. I wonder if our 'board' should essentially be a faculty senate or the like. Hmmm.

    Goblin Squad Member

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I think I agree with all of the discussion here.

There probably is some place for a 'board' or the like, more to come as I need to figure out logistics on that.

I have publicly stated before (and will again) that I would love for all of the settlements to put PFU out of business. Note this is different than razing the place (or other similar posts in here). If all of the settlements are doing great recruitment and training, and there is no need for PFU, then I will gladly close the doors.

I also agree that people should not stay in PFU for 90 days.

Here is what I have seen so far:

Groups that provide support to PFU (teachers and equipment) are quickly winning the hearts and minds of students. My guess is that the 'average' student will move out on or around the time they hit tier 2 (30-45ish days for most). Their decision on where they are going is made in the first 2-3 weeks and then either confirmed or denied.

    It goes like this:

    • Students are on the PFU mumble taking classes, doing escalations, etc.
    • Students get to know those people who teach (either formally through classes or just by helping in help or mumble).
    • Based on their experiences with companies they start picking based on their play style (and time zone to some extent).
    • Students start hanging out with their intended future home. At this point they get to see the good/bad of the company and either move or go back to the drawing board.

With all of that in mind, our classes probably see 2/3rds PFU students, 1/3rd others. (except the keepside chats which seem to be flipped)

If you want to recruit from PFU, and get the player and DI, then you need to help. We are trying to get a standard rotation of teachers, and have some really dedicated teachers that cover 3-4 days per week. I am planning on keeping 1 day a week for Keepside chats (or the politics chat this week) but otherwise I would love to see the rest go to others (and we can have more than one a day).

PM me or Foxglove to volunteer to teach. We would love it if each settlement would take a day/time slot and keep it filled. In some cases (such as Duffy, Thannon, etc) people are volunteering to cover the slot each week on their own, but it might be better to split things across a settlement.

Yrme is right that the land is not critical, but it provides a safe and relatively neutral space for learning. I get that DI from new players is 'valuable' and plan on spending it on training facilities, guards and farms (in that order). The training facilities will be open to all who abide by the PFU rules (i.e. no PVP in or around RiverBank) and the farms will provide a place for students to 'work' in return for their training and a resource we can trade for the other bulk goods a settlement needs.

    Goblin Squad Member

First, thanks for the donation EL.

We are regularly hitting the 50 cap. My .02 would be we need to raise the cap to at least 75. I can throw in more if we need it.

    Goblin Squad Member

    Xilanthis was working on this.

    Goblin Squad Member

Very valid points Yrme. I used PFOGIS when I was looking at 'claim' area and then realized afterwards the road was there. In theory once the road actually is patrolled it should just reinforce our requests (mostly the PVP issue).

The key behind all of our requests is that we really don't have a way to enforce the claim as they are requests not claims. RiverBank law is really just an understanding that the server support. I don't think we will actually be able to 'build' anything on the road hexes so it is kind of just an academic discussion at this point.

I just need to have enough guidelines to share with my students what they can and can't do, in addition to sharing with the server the same.

    Goblin Squad Member

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I agree with your change to the one rule as the intent is the same.

The PFU channel and classes is open to all but you are correct that if someone abuses our requests and rules we will have to take action. I hope the community is self policing in this aspect as I feel bad having to play principal (although I'm not afraid to be one). I have NO problem or hesitations keeping our students in line as university membership is a privilege not a right.

Keep sharing any thoughts you have about how to make the university better. The goal is to make it truly crowd forged as that is the only thing that will keep it growing and connected to the mission. I also hope that by crowd forging we will gain the protection of the server from those who want to burn us to the ground as mentioned before.

    Goblin Squad Member

Please pm me with the details and I will look into it. PFU members should not be engaging in PVP unless as part of an exercise or in self defense.

Keep in mind that the University/Golarion mumble is open to all. If it was one of my students I will make sure it is addressed. With students I try to give them one chance to fix it and then they are out if they repeat. (Giving students the benefit of the doubt is key for learning. Once I know they know better and do something wrong then I break out a giant stick.)

    Goblin Squad Member

Great work and PFU is thankful

    Goblin Squad Member

My hope is that the 'opening' questions get the discussion going but the replies get a bit more debatable. (can't prep all of the questions. :))

For example, asking a group about their claims to land and PVP policies will of course open the discussion about what happens if someone trespasses, forum battle vs in game battle, what is best for the server, etc.

    Goblin Squad Member

Erian great question. The core questions are above but I would expect follow up questions that may not be scripted in advance.

    Goblin Squad Member

Tabomo, you are right on. Golgotha has been giving great support to PFU (along with Aeonian League, EBA, EL, etc) which is the best part of the game. I'm trying to set up that 2 hexes around RiverBank is the 'new player area' or the like. The escalation day fighting Ogg is a great example where we can all play together in this area and help each other.

Hence why I put these requests up to state our intent and ask for support.

An Ambassador stated that the Highlanders will be present but they are debating who. (it was official)

I have heard from the Highlanders and Emerald Lodge and they will both be attending. If anyone else wants to join on the panel, please PM me.

    Some more potential questions:

What is the role of the forums (GW/Paizo) in your game/government?
Who can 'speak' for your group (especially on the forums) and what happens if a member decides to go against the grain?

And in complete self serving nature (it is a PFU discussion afterall):
What is your reaction to the PFU requests/rules (another thread here) and can we count on your support?

    IC/RP:
Hoffman looks around... Maybe I'm just paranoid but Foxglove is always sharpening that dagger. It is like she wants to shave with it. And Nactillius is collecting a lot of flammable materials.. Uh oh.

    OOC:
I know that PFU exists exactly because players are willing to support us and follow our requests. That is also why they are requests not rules.

I may have err'd by making a connection to EVE. The difference between EVE Uni and PFU is that we are intentionally kicking players out after 90 days so that we do not become a power. Politics and Power are not the reason why PFU exists. IF we ever do become a political power (or power hungry) I will light the match myself on Nactillius's powder keg.

Lazar you are 100% correct. Although we plan on spending our DI to get guards (as much as we can) our only hope is to have the server as a whole as friends. If one day PFU gets razed to the ground it will be a shame but you are correct, there is not much I can do. Hence why these are requests not rules.

At the same time I am hoping (probably naively) that the server sees the benefits of PFU and will help us make our requests real.

    Goblin Squad Member

It seems like everyone is putting their stake in the ground, drawing lines, etc for their area. PFU is in a little different position in that we exist at the will of the community. So with that in mind, I want to share our requests and rules to get feedback from the community. I am not going to review the rules of PFU for our students and faculty, (as those are elsewhere and set by us) but want to get the group’s feedback on our requests.

Thod’s point about rules as written and rules as intended are good here but think of these as ‘requests as intended’

There is one RULE NOT REQUEST: The University hexes may not be used for ‘staging’ a war or otherwise using the land for PVP purposes (i.e. don’t all meet up in PFU hexes to go take out another place).

The intent of the above is to make a semi-safe area for new players to grow. For those with an EVE background (not me) it sounds a bit like Hi-Sec intentionally. I’m not asking for a large area, (and don’t plan on growing beyond this) and the SW tends to be a sleepy area anyway.

What are your thoughts? PFU is a resource for the game as a whole so I would love feedback from the whole. We really don’t have a way to ‘enforce’ these rules on outside groups but I would hope the rest of the server can help by following these requests.

As a side note, we need more teachers. Please PM me or Foxglove if you are interested. It is fun, and you get to plug your company in return.

Southwest is a nice friendly place for new players. I like that people are able to come to Pathfinder University (RiverBank) and learn in relative safety.

In light of the many recent threads about politics, territory, PVPm retaliation, etc, Pathfinder University has decided to make its class for Wednesday, 3/19 at 9PM EST a DEBATE about government and politics in PFO.

We are asking leaders from across the map to join us for this session. We would like to have 1 leader from each of the major power blocks, and will take a few leaders from the unaligned/minor blocks. This is mostly because we can't have 33 different people in the debate and would really like to keep it under 8-10. If you are willing to join the debate, please PM PFU Hoffman.

To date we have commitments from:

    Omnipotentseal - Aeonian League
    Cheatle - EBA

We will add more leaders as we get additional commitments.

The session is going to be a debate, following classical format:

    1. Everyone will get a 1 minute max opening statement
    2. I will ask a question and each person will have 1-2 minutes to answer (depending on the question), and an option for a 30 second rebuttal.
    3. Everyone will have a 1 minute closing statement.

We currently have the class scheduled for 60 minutes but if we get 10 leaders and enough questions we may have to extend it to 90 minutes. It will be recorded and our previous sessions are at http://youtube.pathfinderuniversity.com

As far as questions go, here is a start:

What does the River Kingdom freedoms mean to your group?
What territory do you 'own' and what does that mean?
What is your stance on PVP and retaliation?

I will take more questions in this thread or via PM. PLEASE post questions in this thread but lets not try to answer them here as I want to have a live debate not a thread war.

Absolutely Omni. EBA is Neutral Good and I believe the the term confederacy fits us a bit better. Aeonian League from my understanding is a bit more of a "United States" and more centralized. EoX is an empire and the Highlanders are more like the greek city states. All fascinating stuff, huh? We should do a seminar at PFU together ;)

I will gladly host and be the moderator if you are all interested. Next Wednesday 3/18, 9PM Eastern. Governments and Politics in the River Kingdom. Who is representing each of the groups? :)

Edit: I think this discussion would be a great way to get people to know each of the major blocs and which one fits them best.

Edit (again): Please PM me with who from your group can be present and I will set up a plan, debate rules, etc. :)

Hoffman woke up a bit groggy (did time somehow slip today?) and realized he had somehow signed up to take a group of new players to fight the scourge that is Ogg. Ogg has been terrorizing the University for months and his students needed a test. Oh boy.

As Hoffman planned for his excursion, he decided it might help to ask for more help.

He penned a letter to Theodium: "We were there for you when those pesky goblins wouldn't go away. I saw adventurers I had never met fighting together. Do you think we can get some help like you did? We have this ogre Ogg in our back yard who just won't go away. We keep feeding him hoping he will finally be full, but maybe that strategy isn't working. I know it is short notice but my students plan on taking him on today and your help will prevent me coming back with less students".

Just to be safe Hoffman made a couple extra letters as he figured Grip and donkey might 'lose' a few on their way. Hoffman just didn't expect Grip to post one on every street post in his travels.

Just a short while later Hoffman heard horns. Lots of horns. Nactillius came running into his office out of breath. "Hoff, there seems to be a horde of adventurers coming our way. They are flying all types of banners and I worry they are coming to take us over."

Hoffman looked up from his desk "Nact, We promoted you to faculty because of your calm head and scouting skills. Why don't you use both?"

A few minutes later Nactillius came back with a report. "It is worse than I thought. There are banners from both Golgotha and The Empyrean Order. They are going to war here at RiverBank!"

Hoffman went up to his tower, looked out and saw that Nactillius was mostly right, but he missed that it seemed like not only were Golgotha and TEO there, but they were fighting TOGETHER to help the University.

Hoffman excitedly grabbed his gear and his students "Turns out both order and the calvary are here to help. Lets go join them and rid this world of Ogg!"

Today's PFU class was listed as "Dining with Ogg". The intent was to make a dent on the Tier 2 ogre escalation just south east of RiverBank (the home of Pathfinder University). What happened today was not what I expected.

By about an hour after server reset, we had representatives from Pathfinder University, Golgotha, The Empyrean Order, Emerald Lodge, Stoneroot Glade, Tavernhold, and Ozem's Vigil all fighting Ogg TOGETHER.

I have to admit there was a tense moment for me when I realized what groups were all coming together to fight in two hexes. It was at that moment that I realized I had also read to much of the hype about PVP. A couple quick whispers and messages and there was an agreement by all to work together and not have any PVP. All companies joined us on the Pathfinder University mumble, and there were multiple mixed groups.

Today I saw people who have fought both in game and in thread wars come together to help the university. At the same time I saw nearly a dozen new players see the best of the sever. There were 40 players (as far as I could count) by the time I called it a night. There were still probably 20 fighting Ogg when I logged off. I know I had a great time, got to see Guurzak lead our group, and get him to volunteer to teach a class (shameless plug he is teaching about criticals and stacking things Wednesday 3/11 at 8PM EST. More info here.

GW says players make the best content and today I believed it. Thanks to all and death to OGG!

The university is overrun with pelts of all types. Will trade for finished goods and we have an in with Coach and Grip. :)

3PM Sunday (3/8) the University is taking on Ogg as our published class. Sounds like Grip just volunteered to lead the call. :)

    Goblin Squad Member

Let's up it and make the call to arms in order to protect the university. We now have 3 hexes with OGG over 75%
