About Morgaard

This middle-aged dwarf looks older than he actually is, due to his extensive campaigns as a sell-sword. His hair and beard, are a dingy silver-grey in color and somewhat unkempt with two braids banded with silver wire flanking his nearly hidden face. His skin is pale and weathered with a bluish-grey tinge; his green eyes burning from beneath the dark circles surrounding his eye sockets. His clothing is a mix of leathers and cloth; dark burgundy, olive, and deep brown in color; trimmed with thin lines of delicate silver geodesic figures; undoubably a gift from an unknown person of status or rank. His equipment, weapons, and armor show wear, but it's been well-cared for over the years by the hands of a veteran of many wars.

Morgaard speaks openly and honestly with a deep baritone voice, his general demeanor is somewhat laid-back in a somber sense. However, both ale and matters of humor easily break his mood; allowing his inner-dwarf to show. He is capable of being well-spoken and polite, but frequently he slips into direct, loud, and even crude forms of communication to convey his point; in matters of both war and peace. In times of stress, Morgaard is apt to be more of a tactician than a beserker - as he's not as young as he used to be.

BACKGROUND
Morgaard Hellhammer is a dwarf of little note in his home of Highhelm. He was raised by his blacksmith father, Hragnor, just outside of the dwarven city. His mother, Gretha, died during childbirth. Due to his growing wanderlust from seeing mysterious travelers and warriors come though his father's smithy, Morgaard stopped his apprenticeship as a blacksmith and became a sell-sword to afford himself to see the world first-hand. His father was initially disappointed in Morgaard's decision not to take over the family business, but secretly took great pride in his son seeking to become a warrior. Morgaard returns home every couple of years to drink ale and trade tales with his aging father - who has shown no signs of retiring, or insisting that Morgaard take over the smithy some day.

Morgaard has seen his share of war over the long years, but not enough to have grown weary of it just yet...

ADVANCEMENT PLANS:
Morgaard has a split heart. On one side, his love and devotion to his father are constantly present. On the other side, Morgaard is deeply in love with traveling, adventure, and the quest. These two aspects of his personality are always at odds, with Morgaard always thinking that there is time for one more journey, but knowing deep down that his adventuring days are growing shorter and shorter each passing moon. Other responsibilities will soon take precedence in his life.

As part of the latter obligations, Morgaard has secretly stashed away a good deal of gold from his travels and campaigns to secure for the well-being of his father and his future. His new goal is to continue saving money and someday return to Highhelm and abide by his father's wishes to take over the business. He also desires to perhaps take a wife and sire a warrior-child of his own some day.

But perhaps after just one more adventure...
