Umm... hi. Happy Tuesday, everybody!

It's like an ebony metronome!

Ebony Metronome. Sound like the name for a sinister magical item or artifact. Care to sell it?

I hate Otter Seamist.

Greetings. I am Mililani Deccubus and I am a curator of rare magical items. I own a shop located in the thread called the Bazaar of the Bizarre. I have a question to ask of both gamers, players and dungoen masters, of adventurers and planar voyagers alike. If you were a lich, newly reborn or of ancient intelligence, what object, be mundane or exotic, would you use to house the soul of a lich. What object would you use as a phylactery. And yes, you may be creative and magical, but not asinine. I'm interested in gathering and publishing a forbidden work.

Business is brisk for the intrepid merchant. Orders and personal requests for elemental wards and likewise magical trinkets are flowing into her shop along with gold coins and gemstones. The pace is breathtaking.

Mililani will have enough capital to expand her business into a larger warehouse and possibily hire two or three apprentises to aid her in future endevors. Business is looking good for the wyaward elf-maiden.

Candid and profitable with her latest customer, Mililani goes back to cleaning her shop. She later spends the day doing inventory and studying from her libram of magics.

"Then I bid a good journey," she says. "Feel free to return when you need something special. I shall be here."

With that, she approaches a moon elf. He is a tall handsome young male who under no enchantment enters her shop seeking historical inquiries about a discrete suit of armor. she leaves the young girl and her grandfather to help her next customer.

"That I shall." She closes the case containing the star and hands it graciously to the young girl. "If I come across more, I shall notify you by my call sign. It is two blue-hued star sapphire-shaped butterflies."

Arielle takes the case, smiling broadly. She opens it and pulls out the star, holding it close and humming along with its song for a moment before putting it in her bag with the others.

"Thank you," she says to Millilani.

She turns back to JH and Azuri'ith. "There is still one more at the Bazaar." She frowns slightly. "And I think a bunch of the others are in transit somewhere. Still too far to pinpoint exactly."[/i]

Mililani smiles at the young girl's brief merriment. "Perhaps the spell I am working on can help you? It is a divination that collects events and words on the wind and air."

Azuri'ith wrote:

Azuri'ith picks up the chimes and blows on them until both vials are full, setting the chimes gently down when he is finished.

"There you are, miss. Now if you would be so kind as to give the young lady the star, we would be most grateful. I would ask that if any more of these come into your possession that you hold them for us. I promise you that we will reward you handsomely."

LOL! What a stinking cloud spell? That would get him ejected from her shop really quick. :)

Azuri'ith wrote:
"Ah, well, that is easy enough to accomplish then, miss. If you would be so kind as to provide the vials? Two, you say?"

Mililani rings forth a semi-unseen servant with a small bell. It brings with it two vials in a velvet case, both corked and sealed with bee's wax. It also carries a set of wind chimes. They make no sound or clang together as the servant sets them upon a sturdy stand.

"The chimes are enchanted to collect wind and air circulation, albeit in small portions. Blow upon the chimes and it will magically transfer the air into the vials for you."

"Er, when you say essence to what exactly are you referring?" the elder air elemental rumbles uncomfortably.

Mililani chuckles and her eyes shine. "Please great sire, judge me not by my words. I mean you no ill will or harm. I need the essense of an air elemtnal, or the air moved on the wind by an air elemental. No more, no less."

Ugh. I had a long weekend at work. I like being a weekned warrior, but this weekend was too much. Anyway, here I am. Let's see what I can do.

"Hello," chimes the sapphire-eyed half-elf. "Welcome to my shop. How can I help you?"

"We'd like that, please," the little air genasi girl says, politely but insistently, still pointing at the star in the case.
"That's a special star," she says, "rare and unique, perhaps your parents and grandsire can barter something in its place?"
"What would be of comparable value to this...'star' you say?"

I'll be on-line for an hour-an-a-half. Then it's back to the grind. Good news is I don't work until tomorrow night. So I'm free in the mornings and the afternoon.

Even more intrigued by the necklace she smiles. "Yes, I think that I would like this necklace."

Mililani nods and smiles. The women haggle a bit then agree to a price. "Thank you," she says. "Something tells me this piece of jewelry was meant for you."

Okay, we can do it as a flashback when you get back. Since the Dalesman has limited posting time I don't want to keep him stuck here all day.
Not a problem, let me know when you're ready. I have three other posts I need to answer.

Nirellia has entered the shop and is quietly looking around whilst Allura and Devlyn discuss things at the counter with Mililani Deccubus. She has a thoughtful expression on her face and what appears to be a piece of heather in a vine bag.

Not sure if Allura/Devlyn have seen Nirellia around the Sanctum of the Sun; as information for Blue Pigeon, so he can prep an answer for Mililani, Nirellia's in here with a question regarding 'evil eye' sort of abilities/gypsy curses (more because of interest in the folklore side of it than the actual magical angle, although she may feign interest in magical explanations).
I'm going out now; will be back in maybe a couple of hours.

With her work finished, Mililani approaches the elven woman respectfully, but judging her dress and mannerisms, she must be a woman of formal bearing.

"It pleases me to have in my shop. How may I be of service?"

Well, I'm off to bed. Did the graveyard shift last night and my brain is slowly curdling. If you want to see what else I've been doing, check out the the current postings on the Angry Jack Cult. Nighty, Nighty. I'll be up in seven to eight hours.

Devlyn thinks for a moment, then asks the half-elven proprietress:

"TrueDeath or Demolition crystals - do you have any of those?"

Concentrating, she motions her hand over the scrying glass

"Yes, I have a few such crystals in stock. One of each I believe."

Her attention turns briefly to the elven women that has just entered her store. Then it goes back to the dalesman.

Logging off for the night. I'll be back in the morning for an hour or two. Tomorrow is Comic Book day, so I make my weekly pilgrimage to ARC. Have a good night.

"Well, we were wondering if you happened to carry any augment crystals, and I was hoping you might carry a bracelet of friends? Hmmm, and healing potions wouldn't hurt either."

"I always have healing potions in stock but let's see what my scrying glass says shall we."

Moving to the front counter, she gestures her fingers across a flat surface, then again her with slender hand but just an inch above the colorless silicate.

"A braclet of friends, that will take some time but the augment crystals. Yes, I have them. What color or gemstone are you looking for?"

What book, if any, holds info on a braclet of friends. That's one to quirk my curiosity."

Before you stands a half-elven woman, draped in a hodge-podge of colorful garments, scarves, and golden trinkets. Colorful as her sapphire blue eyes and her tresses of ebon long hair, she faces the Dalesman and Allura with rosy cheeks of delight.

"Customers. what a pleasure to meet you. How may I serve you."

:::Steps outside and erects another banner:::

It reads:

"I deal in Wands, trinkets, baubles, and mystical jewelry."

The sapphire-eyed proprietress steps out of her store front, sighs, and steps right back.

As shoppers and customers pass by, they see a modest tiled shop staffed by a half-elven woman with long full hair and bright sapphire blue eyes. Outside, there is a hanging wood banner it reads:

Mililani Deccubus - Herbalist, Alchemist, Potion Brewer

This sign's background displays the butterfly, the holy symbol of Desna.
