Scarab Sages

Good morning,

I am attempting to sign up for the three-part All For Immortality series at Paizo Con Online this month but the remaining open sessions for Parts I and II are both running at the same time (7:00 pm - 12:00 am) on Saturday night. Since I only want to play these three scenarios and I have to purchase a badge in order to grab them should the right person drop or change their schedule, am I able to receive a refund for my badge fees if I cannot add all three of these scenarios? Thanks.

As the subject says, will PFS1 scenarios be offered at Gen Con this year? Specifically, the higher level later seasons scenarios such as 10-22 and 10-23 (the Passing the Torch two-part from 2019 I believe). I'm trying to find something for my level 18 monk, besides possibly Shattered Star book 6. Thanks all!

I have an honest question, and am not trying to stir up anything in the process.

My PFS group is currently in the middle of playing Wardens of the Reborn Forge, having completed the first two parts and hopefully playing the third and final part soon.

I currently have a level 14 Aasimar (Idyllkin) Life Oracle, who took the Aasimar alternate FCB to increase her effective caster level from 14 to 21 when channeling. She currently channels 11d6 with a DC of 29 when channeling to harm undead.

As a result of the recent errata, her effective caster level when channeling would drop from 21 to 16, reducing the channel amount to 8d6 and the DC to 27.

How do I apply this errata to my PFS character in the middle of a PFS sanctioned module? The alternate FCB seems quite useless now, so do I get to put my FCB points into HP and/or skill ranks? Any other alternatives? Thanks in advance.

This is a question for the developers.

The feat Monkey Moves states "You can also can climb and crawl at half your speed." It also states "...you retain your Dexterity bonus to AC while climbing."

I have taken this to mean the character literally gains both climb and crawl speeds (not enhancements) equal to one-half their base movement. Is this correct?

The Climb skill states "A creature with a climb speed has a +8 racial bonus on all Climb checks. The creature must make a Climb check to climb any wall or slope with a DC higher than 0, but it can always choose to take 10, even if rushed or threatened while climbing. If a creature with a climb speed chooses an accelerated climb, it moves at double its climb speed (or at its land speed, whichever is slower) and makes a single Climb check at a –5 penalty. Such a creature retains its Dexterity bonus to Armor Class (if any) while climbing, and opponents get no special bonus to their attacks against it. It cannot, however, use the run action while climbing."

Just looking for clarification on this. Am I correct in my assumption that a character with this feat gains both climb and crawl speeds, or are they (the character) merely just faster at climbing and crawling? Thanks in advance.

I have a question for the developers, and I apologize in advance if this has already been discussed as I was not able to find anything on the subject.

Per the PRD, a vow of silence gives a player one extra Ki point per six monk levels. However, the Ultimate Magic .pdf (Second printing; January, 2012) I just purchased and downloaded last weekend indicates the same vow gives a player one extra Ki point for every monk level. I could not find any errata or FAQ which states anything to the contrary.

So, my burning question is which is correct? I am playing The Moonscar this weekend with my PFS 16th level monk and need a ruling as the difference in Ki points would be huge - 16 additional Ki points vs. 2 additional Ki points. Please help!

Howdy all,

So I'm creating a new character. She is a NG Aasimar Oracle. As the protege of my venture-captain character, I have selected the following stats:

STR 10
DEX 12
CON 12
INT 14
WIS 13
CHA 20 (this includes the +2 bonus awarded to the protege per the EotT part IV chronicle)

Never really having played spellcasters in all my years, this is where I kind of get stuck.

I am thinking of taking the curse "Tongues", the mystery "Life", and the revelation "Channel". She will know four 0-level and two 1st-level spells, and will be able to cast five 1st-level spells per day initially, in addition to the orisons. As far as spells, which would be good choices for her to know?

I would really appreciate any feedback on this character build. Does this work, should I change it (and to what), etc.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Sorry for the long-winded title, but it pretty much says it all. Three of us from the St. Louis area are looking at playing Race for the Runecarved Key at CogCon (Rolla, MO) on Saturday, October 20. We played Eyes of the Ten together, so our characters are all level 13.2. We want to play this year's special to get our characters to level 14 before playing PSOP sanctioned mods.

We are looking for other players to make our sub-tier 12+ table. Is anyone interested in possibly joining us, to ensure we get a full table? Please feel free to send me a PM, and I will be happy to get back to you. Thanks!

I am hoping to receive a ruling or clarification regarding my situation. Would Michael Brock, Mark Moreland, Sean K. Reynolds, or anyone else in a position to officially rule on this, please respond?

My level 11 monk advanced to level 12 (33 xp) by playing the Season 2 special Year of the Shadow Lodge on 2/18/2012. On 3/3/2012, I played him at slow advancement in the Ruby Phoenix Tournament sanctioned module. He is currently at 34.5 xp as a result of the slow advancement. Per the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play version 4.1 (page 21):

"When playing the Tier 12 scenarios, characters receive XP, Prestige Points, and GP—halving each if they use the slow advancement track—as normal. While characters are generally restricted from playing beyond their tier (as explained in Chapter 7), should a PC reach 13th level during a multipart Tier 12 arc, she may play the final installments as a 13th-level character; this is the only exception to the normal tier restrictions."

I was led to believe I could play the Ruby Phoenix Tournament sanctioned module as a new level 12 at slow advancement (earning 1.5 xp instead of 3 xp), and still be eligible to play the Eyes of the Ten four-part level 12 retirement arc since my character is still level 12 to begin the arc. Based on the exception quoted above, I would be allowed to complete the arc at level 13, although I'm not sure at what point in the arc I would advance to said level.

Was the information I received correct? If not, what are my options, if any, at this point?

Thanks in advance for your responses.
