PaizoCon 2012: Register Your PaizoCon Events!

Wednesday, May 2, 2012

Are you coming to PaizoCon 2012? Want to run one or more events during the show? Attendee event submission is now open! All you need to do is copy and paste the following event questionnaire into an email sent to events@paizo.com, and we'll consider your event for the convention. Make sure to answer all questions for every event you plan to run at Paizo Con.

This event submission process is for attendee-run games; don't submit Pathfinder Society events here. Once attendee event submission has closed on May 11, we'll schedule attendee events, special Paizo-staff games, panels, and other events into a master schedule that participants will select in the standard “event lottery” fashion.

For each event you'd like to run, please provide the following information:

  1. Event Name
  2. Event Description (up to 200 words)
  3. Category (RPG/Workshop/Panel, etc.)
  4. Organizer Name (include email address as registered on paizo.com)
  5. Game Master Name
  6. Game/Rules/System (3.5 OGL, Pathfinder RPG, etc.)
  7. Game Edition (3.5 OGL, Pathfinder RPG, etc.)
  8. Will you be providing pregenerated characters? (Yes/No)
  9. Age Rating (10+, 13+, 17+, etc.)
  10. Game Complexity (Normal, Hard, etc.)
  11. Experience Required (Novice/Veteran/Varies, etc.)
  12. Are there prizes awarded? (Yes/No)

Remember, please copy and paste the above 12 questions into your email for EACH event you plan to run at PaizoCon. Send your completed attendee event descriptions to events@paizo.com. Attendee event submissions are due 5/11/12, and the full event lottery will be posted shortly. Space is limited, so not all events will be scheduled.

We look forward to another great year at PaizoCon, and attendee events are a huge part of what makes the show so exciting! Make sure you get your details in soon, and we'll see you at PaizoCon 2012!

Looks good to me!

I may try to wrap my game a little early on Friday night, though, just in case any of my players want to be at the Grand Convocation when it gets underway. I'm assuming they can come and go from the even throughout the evening, though. So, maybe they won't mind missing the opening? I'll probably poll everyone before I get started running.

Couple of things about the schedule...

I am little disappointed that the Late night games on Friday start at 6PM instead of 7PM, that is way to close to the finishing of the PFS games from 1-6 and the PFS special starts at 7, which I have no interest in but the starting time of 6PM makes it hard for me to add to my schedule because of the PFS schedule.

Is there no Late night non PFS games on Saturday?

...ALL of the 1-6pm games. The big blocks look like

8-1
1-6
6-11

So if I want to be in blocks all day, I have to either leave early from a table (which PROBABLY wouldn't be an issue since I bet most games end a bit before the actual end time anyway) or I have to be a few minutes late to the next game. Oh well, I'll get there as fast as I can I suppose.

This is my situation as well. I am not really interested in PFS that much and I couldn't find basically anything non-PFS going on Saturday night. So it looks like Saturday evening for me will be all about site-seeing in Seattle / Redmond I suppose. Anyone else in that situation want to team up? lol Or alternatively, run some side games somewhere?

I know there will be some pick-up games Saturday night. We play a Swords and Wizardry game at night, and there are always other people playing too.

Ok, if I have a chance to get into some pick-up games Saturday evening I'll hang around but if its going to be the sound of crickets chirping in the darkness everywhere PFS isn't being played I'll wander the streets of Seattle looking for trouble to get into :)

I'm all over S&W in other words :)

Saturday evening is also when the Banquet is, but not everyone can go, so I am surprised they did not add something on the schedule for gaming.

Dragonmmon-

Im thinking around 3- 3:30pm Sunday for the PFS GM pickup game. Does that work for you? I can accommodate about 5-6, because I think there are some other sit ins going to be there, and Id like to keep it under 10 people.

Itll work.

That is good for me, the last PFS game ends at 2pm that day and I am GMing then as well, so I will be free by 3.

Most of the folks offering to GM request to attend the banquet, so it ends up being a non-slot. That said every table in the free game rooms had something going. Last year there was an anti-banquet gathering in the bar. I am up for any and all & wouldn't mind just grabbing a couple of folks and finding a good place eat :)

Not only all most of the volunteer GMs, but *all* of the Paizo staff and guests, and for that matter, most of the PaizoCon attendees, too. Open gaming will be rocking, though!

I am still Concerned though about the 6pm start time for the Friday night game.

Would it not be better to match the 5 hour games with the PFS Schedule? They are up to that one slot.

I was trying to do you all a favor and have the evening games start and end at an earlier time but if everyone would rather shift all the 6PM open gaming slots to 7PM then I'm prepared to do that. Just let me know and we'll make it so. At the end of the day it's YOUR show and we just want everyone to have fun so help me do that. :)

Personally, I prefer ending at the earlier time. But then, I don't play PFS scenarios all that often (usually just jumping in on a Sunday morning game).

For Friday night, I think it'd be better to end the game slot at 6PM rather than having people running straight to the Grand Convocation at 7PM. Conflicting with that event is going to affect a lot more people than anything else. Give them time to grab dinner coming out of that game before going into the big event.

I second that. I was happy for the supper break before the grand convocation. That will be a fun event, but all the better with a full stomach.

I think you both are confused...

I am not asking the Game that is from 1-6 to End Later, I am asking for the Non PFS that starts a 6 to start later, to match the start time for the PFS game so Those of us playing/GMing from the 1-6 game PFS game don't have to rush and miss dinner to get to the Non-PFS 6-11 Game.

Here is the Schedule for 5 Hour Friday games, I am bolding the relevant hours

PFS

8am-1pm
1pm-6pm
7pm-12am

Non-PFS

8am-1pm
1pm-6pm
6pm-11pm

See the Conflict now?

I would like to see this change to the following to match the PFS schedule so we can Eat dinner and not have to rush to the non-pfs game. Having the schedule match PFS make it easier to go from one to the other.

PFS

8am-1pm
1pm-6pm
7pm-12am

Non-PFS

8am-1pm
1pm-6pm
7pm-12am

I think your suggestion makes a lot of sense. I usually end up bringing a sandwich or something for situations where I have one session after another, but it would be nice to have an actual break.

We are working on making this change now. Hopefully it should be live in a bit.

Good Catch Dragonmoon,
Thanks Jeff et all :)

The events for Friday have been fixed to reflect the correct time slot.

Awesome! Now I can try to get in some events during that time frame..

How do I assign a 0-4 on events???

It will go live at 2 PaizoStandardTime today. I dinnae remember if there are 0-4 boxes for checking, a drop-down menu, or a blank you can enter the number in, but it will show up on the events schedule when you are logged in. :)

Id sure like to have a little time to grab dinner between the two.
