Remos looks around and shrugs. "Looks OK."

Male Human Rogue 2

'Why don't we just look up here where your were, just for completeness sake?'

All pretenses of stealth now seeming futile, Makin jogs up to the stairs into the chapel. Double move to steps.

Male Halfling Cleric of Irori 3

Welcome back Haldo!!

Faysal follows Makin, maintaining a wary eye and a whirling sling....

I am gonna burn 2 rounds to allow everyone to get close enough to talk at low volume. So this map is for the end of round 7. I also just realized that Faysal and Haldo only move 20 base so going forward that will come into play. Oh and finally the map is a little vague about the stairs, they go down into the chapel.

A short set of wide ceremonial steps leads down to a cavernous chapel in which the congregants would gather for sermons in happier times. The vibrant orange and red starburst of Sarenrae still stands behind a film of rusted rainwater and dirt along the north wall overlooking the collapsed altar. Between the stairs and the altar stand dozens of old marble benches, many overturned and even more broken into two or more pieces. A wide walkway bisects the pews, leading directly to the raised altar. Here and there a few clumps of the original red carpet along this thoroughfare hang on against rot and neglect.
Above the center of the chapel, dangling about ten feet from the floor, hangs a cluster of gnoll skulls in various stages of decay. Strung together like a ghoulish candelabra of twine and bone, the boulder-sized ornament hangs from the wooden rafters which are about twenty feet above the ground.

As you survey the chapel you hear a several squeals and grunts from above. The knotted rope suspending the gnoll-skull candelabra jerks and jumps as a runty little creature dressed in crude furs scrambles from far above to gain a foothold on the swaying skulls. With a
squeaky laugh, this gremlin casts a rude gesture at the party. From the rafters above comes a chorus of glee and a volley of small arrows fired Makin and Haldo. 3 of the arrows find the mark striking Makin as one flies by lodging in the column between Faysal and Haldo. The last arrow strikes Haldo with precision as it slips past his armor hitting him in vulnerable spot.

crit on Haldo for 4 dam; 3 arrows to Makin for 5 total damage. new Init order (I went a ahead and rolled) Numair, Haldo, Makin, Faysal, Remos.

end of round 7 map

Male Human Rogue 2

When its Makin's turn he runs up the stairs, pulling out his light crossbow, he then drops it at his feet and shoots at the little pugawampis (I assume that's what they are?). He shoots at any that are already damaged by either Haldo or Numair.

Numair hisses to Remos, "I thought you said this place was 'OK'?!"

He takes a move action to get to the stairs, then casts grease, targeting the rafters above (i.e. I want to coat the rafters with grease to force anything standing on them to hopefully fall with a failed Reflex save (DC 16)).

wow, where to start, do you run up to the stairs or down the stairs (they go down into the chapel not up)? Do you pull out your crossbow and drop it at your feet? I am confused.

Wow... Okay, I obviously didn't double-check that. Sorry. Makin runs down the stairs, to stop at the corner of a marble bench, and drops his rapier at his feet, drawing and firing his crossbow. Apologies for the confusion.

How high up are the rafters?

"Looked OK," Remos mutters, quickly turning and moving into the chapel. When he gets close enough, he focuses on one of the gremlins and lets out a bloodcurdling yell.

Move 40', enter rage, demoralize nearest gremlin.

Faysal's readied shot leaps out at teh first visible pugwampi...

I'm not sure I made it clear that's why I kept referring to teh whirling sling :)

Numair hisses to Remos, "I thought you said this place was 'OK'?!" as he moves to the stairs, then mutters a few arcane words and a greasy film appears on a rafter, one of the pugwampi slips bounces off of hte beam then screams on his way down to hit the marble bench on the floor of the chapel. As it hits his body makes a crunch as he is moratlly broken.

Haldo drops his sword and moves to the bottom of the stairs while drawing his crossbow. He lets loose a bolt at the grimlin on the ball. The bolt sails past the grimlin impacting the back wall of the chapel harmlessly.

Makin drops his rapier then runs down the stairs drawing his crossbow also, he stops at the corner of the marble bench and fires his crossbow at the same swaying gremlin who seems to be unable to be hit as the bolt sails past him again.

From the rafters comes the sounds of a spell as the crossbow in Makin's hand shatters into a several pieces. The gremlin atop the skulls fires his bow but the arrow impacts the marble bench which Makin is hiding behind. Three more arrows sail out of the rafters streaking into Numair's soft flesh. 5 damage

Faysal's readied shot leaps out at the same taunting pugwampi the stone bullet flying very close to the pugwampi but ultimately falling to the ground harmlessly.

"Looked OK," Remos mutters, quickly turning and moving into the chapel as he enrages. As he nears the skull chandelier, he focuses on the gremlin the ball and lets out a bloodcurdling yell. The pugwampi looks noticeably shaken.

next round. Pugwampi 2 is dead, 3-6 are in the rafters 20' up and 1 is on the skulls 10' up. Oh and I will need double rolls since you are dealing with pugs, very unlucky. I will keep DMing Haldo until he posts his moves or lets me know he is ready again.

for Makin:

Spoiler:

Makin you had to drop the rapier and draw the xbow as part of a move so it is behind you some although now that I think about it you only have a bab of 0 so you can't even do that. We will let it stand as is cause I dont want to retype it all at this point.

Xyro:

Spoiler:
I'm just so used to having at least +1 BAB, sorry.

Makin curses loudly in shock, and runs back uo the steps to retreive his rapier, still cursing all the way.

Haldo steps forward to the protection of the benches and fires on pugwampis in the rafters, missing them.

Makin curses loudly in shock, and runs back uo the steps to retrieve his rapier, still cursing all the way.

More gleeful laughs echo from the rafters in response to Makin's bow shattering and his running away. He is rewarded with a volley of arrows as he runs up the stairs, three of which strike him in back 4 damage .

The pug atop the skulls turns his attention on the frightful man below him and fires an arrow at him striking him in the chest Remos 2 damage .

Faysal moves forward and releases a healing burst of energy. 5 healing to all party members.

With both hands, Remos brings his falchion behind his head, and then flings it at the pug hanging onto the chandelier. The falchion slices through the pugwampi as well as the rope holding the skulls. The ball falls to the floor and shatters into many slivers, the pugwampi's split body laying atop the pile.

next round, Pugwampi 1 is dead. Consider the dark splotch in the middle of the chapel floor to be rough terrain.

"Why don't we fall back into that room to our right and draw them down?"

Remos runs after his falchion and picks it up.

Numair shouts to the others, as he draws his light crossbow and fires at one of the pugwampis, missing completely. "Try and get them down out of the rafters! My other spells cannot reach them from the ground!"

Haldo fires crossbow on the closest pugwampi again missing the gremlin.

Makin takes a moment to scan the room, his eyes falling on a ladder that goes up into the choir loft and rafters that the pugwampis are assaulting you from. As quick as he sees the ladder he moves that way.

At this point the pugs are fully enjoying themselves, they are laughing so hard that #3 falls off his feet but catches himself before falling to the floor. He pulls himself back up tot he rafter as 3 more arrows fly toward Remos finding thier mark in his side, one striking home in a vulnerable spot. 2 hits and a crit for 9 damage, ouch!

Faysal whips another sling stone into the rafters missing his target and says, "Why don't we fall back into that room to our right and draw them down?"

Remos steps through the pile of partially decaying skulls to retrieve his falchion.

next round. Remos I am assuming you are still raging until you say you stop. The ladder is in the top of the map where the black "c" shape is. The rafters run both directions above you and there is an old balcony running along the sides of the walls though a lot of it has fallen away. If Makin gets up the ladder I will add that map also. Haldo just a reminder you sword is on the ground at the top of the stairs.

EoR 10 map

For Makin:

Spoiler:
as you scanned the room you also noticed that there seems to be some sort of nests in the rafters of the chapel above the lower part of the map. Nothing too odd but out of place for sure.

Male Human Rogue 2

Makin has enough movement to get onto the ladder up ten feet and off of it if its only that high. At which point he will carefully move along the rafters, avoiding the greased area, to engage the pugawampis. Otherwise he just goes as far as he can.

Makin isn't ignoring Faysal's suggestion, but he didn't hear it over the din of the gremlins and his own focus on getting up to face them.

The Uwagan screams out in pain. Now single-minded in his actions, Remos ignores Faysal and continues his assault. Holding his larger sword in his off-hand, he draws his scimitar while moving under the nearest living gremlin, then flings the scimitar upward.

Haldo tries to keep his growing anger at the pugwampi in check as he tries to get a better shot at the closest attacker.

Numair fires his crossbow again at the pugwampi in the center of the room, striking it in the chest and sending the lifeless body down to the floor below.
Haldo moves to better position and shoots and arrow into pugwampi #4.
Makin continues to the ladder and climbs it to the top.
The pugwampi with Haldo's arrow sticking from it's chest casts a spell as Haldo's crossbow shatters in his hands. It then steps back on the balcony ans cannot be seen anymore.
Faysal runs to the center of the room and touches the pugwampi that was split in two.
The two other remaining pugs upon seeing Faysal run into the center of the room squeal gleefully as the let two arrows fly his direction, one of which strikes him 1 damage. #3 then runs along the rafter toward the center of the room and disappears into what looks like a nest above the south east quarter of the room.
Remos, seeing #6 fall to the ground dead, moves under #5 and throws his scimitar at it. The scimitar flies closely by the pug but misses and lands with a clatter atop the balcony.

Numair fires on the last visible pugwampi, the bolt slicing clean through the little beast tossing it back out of sight.
The explosion of his crossbow makes Haldo flinch away. Temper finally flaring, he roars a very bad name at the pugwampi caster. He runs to the ladder and climbs, intending to do terrible things to the pugwampi. Haldo is 10' up the 20' ladder. Just to make sure you saw it: your sword in on the ground near where Numair is.

Forgot the description of what Makin sees at the top of the ladder:
A thin balcony overlooks the chapel floor some twenty feet below. Two rows of tall-backed wooden choir chairs dominate the southern reach of the balcony, which hugs the chapel’s concave walls. The balcony falls away—collapsed for a span of perhaps fifteen feet—just on the other side of the choir area. To the east, rickety time-worn wooden rafters stretch across the whole chapel. Two huge sections of these rafters have been engulfed in a sort of nest comprised of a patchwork of random bits of cloth.

Makin sees pug #5 get thrown back from the edge and moves to him and ends it's life with his rapier. From below the party sees Makin's head moving to where the pug was and a fatal squeal. you are unable to charge do to the choir chairs but reach the pug anyway

Pugwampi 4 runs by Makin straight across and the center of the room past where the skulls where hanging and into the nest above the south east quarter of the chapel. Makin missed his AoO as the pug ran by.

After pug 4 enters the nest pug 3 leans out and fires an arrow at Makin hitting him in his side 3 damage

Faysal flinches as the arrow grazes his flesh and snaps him out of the contemplative trance he appeared to be in

"Anyone have cold iron? or a charm to overcome bad luck? because we're gonna need both to have any hope in this scrum. Let's just set it on fire, and hope there are no gnolls about!!"

Calmness takes the place of Remos' rage. Breathing heavily, he comments to Numair. "We find gremlins. You happy?" He heads over to the ladder and begins to climb but is limited by having Haldo on the ladder above him.
