"It is very strange how, like, spread out this castle is. Like the baron keeps moving around all the time or something."

Female Half-ork (Black orc) Occultist/11

Mr. Eleric,my armor,if you please. Ortensia crowded the elf, eager to have her chainmail back to function.

AC:13 T:12F:11| HP 68/68 | CMD:13 | F:+5 R:+4 W:+10| Init:+7 | Perc: +21, Dark

I can't find you exact armor I think it is broken and chainmail? So, from the looks of it I can fix it with a few mendinging. If it was destroyed or for some reason crazy high level tell me.

Eleric goes about fixing the armor. Once complete he you fly to the other side die off a rope and fly back.

"Tada"

Yeah, you can fix the armour with mending, one casting will be enough

AC:13 T:12F:11| HP 68/68 | CMD:13 | F:+5 R:+4 W:+10| Init:+7 | Perc: +21, Dark

"Anything else before we conquer the bridge? If not let's roll."

What next?

Male LN Halfling Brawler 5/Sentinel of Irori 6 | HP 98/98 | AC 23 (33 when fighting defensively) T 16 FF 18 | CMB +14, CMD 29 | F: +11, R: +11, W: +6 (+8 vs fear) +2 vs divine | Init: +7 | Perc: +17, SM: +5 | Speed 30ft | Martial Flexibility 5/5 | Knockout 1/1 (DC 17); True Strike 3/3 Inevitable Fist 11/11| Active conditions: None.

After equipment is secured, Creeden will gladly cross the bridge, tying the rope around his waist before he embarks.

AC:13 T:12F:11| HP 68/68 | CMD:13 | F:+5 R:+4 W:+10| Init:+7 | Perc: +21, Dark

Eleric will fly along and check for traps or weak boards.

Take-Ten Perception = 32

Eleric, you find a trap set up about halfway across the bridge, it looks like its been designed to summon a creature

AC:13 T:12F:11| HP 68/68 | CMD:13 | F:+5 R:+4 W:+10| Init:+7 | Perc: +21, Dark

Eleric sends his little rodent out.
"Squeek"

"Yes it's a summoning trap. Yes the glyphs are draconic in nature with a parallel magic weave. It should be easy enough"

"Squeek."

Jaboa's DD : 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (11) + 20 = 31
Eleric's Aid : 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28

Jaboa is able to disable the trap. Where the trap is set is a piece of black cloth and another medallion of the Whispering Way.

Moving on to area 1

[i]One end of the demolished bridge clings to the cliff beneath a large building. A statue of a beautiful nymph stands next to a pair of double doors. Above the doors is a stained glass window depicting a unicorn.

AC:13 T:12F:11| HP 68/68 | CMD:13 | F:+5 R:+4 W:+10| Init:+7 | Perc: +21, Dark

Standard 32 to check for traps and other intresting things. Does the iconography mean anything to Eleric?

You do not find any traps. The iconography seems to be an artistic representation only.

F N Tiefling Cleric 3 // Fighter 3 | HP 31/31 | AC 20 T 15 FF 15 | CMB +3 CMD 18 | F +5 R +5** W +7 | Init +4 Per +6 (darkvision) SM +4 | channel 4/4 stamina 5/5 TtSW 7/7 | spells 1st 3+1/3+1 2nd 2+1/2+1 | effects/conditions deathwatch 20m

Zephra looks incensed at the medallion. "By the Lady! These necromancers seem to have infiltrated the castle! Oh, I just hate them so much! Let me show them my goddess's wrath!"

AC:13 T:12F:11| HP 68/68 | CMD:13 | F:+5 R:+4 W:+10| Init:+7 | Perc: +21, Dark

Eleric cracks the door open to peer into the building (room 2).

This room is crammed with cabinets full of weird, alchemically preserved creatures, including a pair of ice mephit wings, several large spiders, parts of a dissected giant slug, and the digestive tracts and proboscises of three stirges.

AC:13 T:12F:11| HP 68/68 | CMD:13 | F:+5 R:+4 W:+10| Init:+7 | Perc: +21, Dark

Eleric looks for other magical items or hidden things. Detect magic.

31 Perception Taking Ten

Behind one of the cabinets you find 3 vials which each contain a dose of violet venom.

Female Half-ork (Black orc) Occultist/11

We've come to know a pattern with these blackguards. They sneak or force there way into places of interest, steal or muck about with something important and potentially dangerous, and cover their tracks with misdirection riddled with nasty traps and undead.

Ortensia made sure to explicitly watch her steps.

Male LN Halfling Brawler 5/Sentinel of Irori 6 | HP 98/98 | AC 23 (33 when fighting defensively) T 16 FF 18 | CMB +14, CMD 29 | F: +11, R: +11, W: +6 (+8 vs fear) +2 vs divine | Init: +7 | Perc: +17, SM: +5 | Speed 30ft | Martial Flexibility 5/5 | Knockout 1/1 (DC 17); True Strike 3/3 Inevitable Fist 11/11| Active conditions: None.

"The collection itself is pretty unnerving as well. The urge to learn is powerful, but here it has created many uncanny things."

AC:13 T:12F:11| HP 68/68 | CMD:13 | F:+5 R:+4 W:+10| Init:+7 | Perc: +21, Dark

"This does seem to be a step outside standard arcane magic."

Is there a check to do to understand the full extent of what magic was done here?

It doesn't look as if any magic was involved, it looks more like these pieces were collected over many years of study.

AC:13 T:12F:11| HP 68/68 | CMD:13 | F:+5 R:+4 W:+10| Init:+7 | Perc: +21, Dark

Eleric checks the door to the next room (three).

Percpeption 32

"Shall we keep moving? No time like the present."

F N Tiefling Cleric 3 // Fighter 3 | HP 31/31 | AC 20 T 15 FF 15 | CMB +3 CMD 18 | F +5 R +5** W +7 | Init +4 Per +6 (darkvision) SM +4 | channel 4/4 stamina 5/5 TtSW 7/7 | spells 1st 3+1/3+1 2nd 2+1/2+1 | effects/conditions deathwatch 20m

Zephra nods, intently scanning the area for any sign of her nemeses. "They must be here somewhere!"

Female Half-ork (Black orc) Occultist/11

Worry not,Sister Zephra. Those dastardly corpsekissers shall fear the fury of your blades soon enough. We must keep our wits about us. No need to rush headlong into whatever nastiness they've no doubt left for us to stumble across.

AC:13 T:12F:11| HP 68/68 | CMD:13 | F:+5 R:+4 W:+10| Init:+7 | Perc: +21, Dark

"I'm sure we will come across plenty of evil soon enough. Places like this are always full of evil."

F N Tiefling Cleric 3 // Fighter 3 | HP 31/31 | AC 20 T 15 FF 15 | CMB +3 CMD 18 | F +5 R +5** W +7 | Init +4 Per +6 (darkvision) SM +4 | channel 4/4 stamina 5/5 TtSW 7/7 | spells 1st 3+1/3+1 2nd 2+1/2+1 | effects/conditions deathwatch 20m

I should roll Perception more often.

Perception check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21 +2 vs Whispering Way

Zephra you do not find anything.

Next room

The skeleton of a sea cow dominates this room, hung from the ceiling on a set of iron rungs and held together by steel frames. Numerous jars sit on shelves within the room, containing alchemically preserved octopuses, tubeworms, the head of a skum, a curiously repellent eel-like creature with fangs, and a strange, mermaid like creature with the upper body of a monkey and the tail of a fish.

Can have knowledge nature on eel like creature

A spiral staircase leads up to the second floor.

AC:13 T:12F:11| HP 68/68 | CMD:13 | F:+5 R:+4 W:+10| Init:+7 | Perc: +21, Dark

Not knowing much about nature Eleric scans the room for signs of movement, valuable or secrets.

Perception: 10 + 22 = 32

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23Know Nature

Ortensia you recognise the creature as a ningyo. It's flesh is poisonous and if its body is intact it can reanimate as an undead between dusk and dawn.

I'm assuming you're going on to examine the next room on this level (4)

A stuffed bulette faces the door to this room. Cabinets along the walls contain a partially dissected bugbear, a partially transformed doppelganger, and a complete goblin dog, all preserved in alchemical fluids.

AC:13 T:12F:11| HP 68/68 | CMD:13 | F:+5 R:+4 W:+10| Init:+7 | Perc: +21, Dark

I'm all for clearing the floor, room 4 and 5 before going upstairs.

Eleric looks for clues, traps, magic etc.

Perception: 10 + 22 = 32

"I feel like this taxidermy will come to life and kill us."

Male LN Halfling Brawler 5/Sentinel of Irori 6 | HP 98/98 | AC 23 (33 when fighting defensively) T 16 FF 18 | CMB +14, CMD 29 | F: +11, R: +11, W: +6 (+8 vs fear) +2 vs divine | Init: +7 | Perc: +17, SM: +5 | Speed 30ft | Martial Flexibility 5/5 | Knockout 1/1 (DC 17); True Strike 3/3 Inevitable Fist 11/11| Active conditions: None.

"You have a suspicious nature! These creatures don't appear magical, just a collection of curiosities. It's not how I'd choose to learn about creatures--it seems cruel."

AC:13 T:12F:11| HP 68/68 | CMD:13 | F:+5 R:+4 W:+10| Init:+7 | Perc: +21, Dark

Eleric puts his hands in his pockets and shrugs, "You got my number. People don't hire non-suspicious Arcane Detectives."

He smiles as he floats about the room inspecting things.

F N Tiefling Cleric 3 // Fighter 3 | HP 31/31 | AC 20 T 15 FF 15 | CMB +3 CMD 18 | F +5 R +5** W +7 | Init +4 Per +6 (darkvision) SM +4 | channel 4/4 stamina 5/5 TtSW 7/7 | spells 1st 3+1/3+1 2nd 2+1/2+1 | effects/conditions deathwatch 20m

Zephra frowns, puzzling over this last statement from Eleric, then banishes it from her mind and searches for signs of the Whispering Way.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23 +2 bonus vs Whispering Way

You both don't find anything of interest in the room.[i]

On to room 5

[i]This room is filled with weird-looking preserved creatures. Two elaborately carved and painted sarcophagi stand against the east and west walls. A pile of chains lies in the centre of the floor.

F N Tiefling Cleric 3 // Fighter 3 | HP 31/31 | AC 20 T 15 FF 15 | CMB +3 CMD 18 | F +5 R +5** W +7 | Init +4 Per +6 (darkvision) SM +4 | channel 4/4 stamina 5/5 TtSW 7/7 | spells 1st 3+1/3+1 2nd 2+1/2+1 | effects/conditions deathwatch 20m

Zephra breathes in through her nose and searches.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27 +2 bonus vs Whispering Way

Zephra, you think that one of the sarcophagi looking slightly off, you can't put your finger on it, it just doesn't look right.

AC:13 T:12F:11| HP 68/68 | CMD:13 | F:+5 R:+4 W:+10| Init:+7 | Perc: +21, Dark

Eleric will, from 20 feet, will see if he can see what's off with the sarcophagus using heighten awareness.

Perception : 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (11) + 23 = 34

Male LN Halfling Brawler 5/Sentinel of Irori 6 | HP 98/98 | AC 23 (33 when fighting defensively) T 16 FF 18 | CMB +14, CMD 29 | F: +11, R: +11, W: +6 (+8 vs fear) +2 vs divine | Init: +7 | Perc: +17, SM: +5 | Speed 30ft | Martial Flexibility 5/5 | Knockout 1/1 (DC 17); True Strike 3/3 Inevitable Fist 11/11| Active conditions: None.

Creeden will approach the chains in the middle of the floor to see if there is anything unusual about them.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16

Eleric, you can see that one of the sarcophagi is trying to hide itself as a sarcophagus, you strongly suspect that it is actually a mimic.

Creeden there is nothing remarkable about the chains, however you do notice that one of the sarcophagi is partially open.

AC:13 T:12F:11| HP 68/68 | CMD:13 | F:+5 R:+4 W:+10| Init:+7 | Perc: +21, Dark

"Okay I wrong the taxidermy won't attack, yet, but that sarcophagus will take your hand right off. I believe is it a mimic."

Eleric will ready grease if it tries to move toward anyone.

Male LN Halfling Brawler 5/Sentinel of Irori 6 | HP 98/98 | AC 23 (33 when fighting defensively) T 16 FF 18 | CMB +14, CMD 29 | F: +11, R: +11, W: +6 (+8 vs fear) +2 vs divine | Init: +7 | Perc: +17, SM: +5 | Speed 30ft | Martial Flexibility 5/5 | Knockout 1/1 (DC 17); True Strike 3/3 Inevitable Fist 11/11| Active conditions: None.

"Do you know anything of such creatures, Eleric?"
Or do I? :)
Knowledge (dungeoneering): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

F N Tiefling Cleric 3 // Fighter 3 | HP 31/31 | AC 20 T 15 FF 15 | CMB +3 CMD 18 | F +5 R +5** W +7 | Init +4 Per +6 (darkvision) SM +4 | channel 4/4 stamina 5/5 TtSW 7/7 | spells 1st 3+1/3+1 2nd 2+1/2+1 | effects/conditions deathwatch 20m

Zephra wrinkles her brow staring at the sarcophagus, and thinks about what she knows about such creatures, which is apparently nothing.

Creeden, you know that mimics are immune to acid and they can exude an adhesive which automatically grapples.

Male LN Halfling Brawler 5/Sentinel of Irori 6 | HP 98/98 | AC 23 (33 when fighting defensively) T 16 FF 18 | CMB +14, CMD 29 | F: +11, R: +11, W: +6 (+8 vs fear) +2 vs divine | Init: +7 | Perc: +17, SM: +5 | Speed 30ft | Martial Flexibility 5/5 | Knockout 1/1 (DC 17); True Strike 3/3 Inevitable Fist 11/11| Active conditions: None.

"Get ready to peel this thing off of me. It's a monster."

Creeden will defensively attack the mimic.

Unarmed Strike (defensively): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19 for Bludgeoning: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

AC 27 this round.

AC:13 T:12F:11| HP 68/68 | CMD:13 | F:+5 R:+4 W:+10| Init:+7 | Perc: +21, Dark

"Ummmm..." Eleric casts Grease under the mimic. DC: 18 Ref.

"Fall down so you are easier to punch."

Female Half-ork (Black orc) Occultist/11

Ortensia retrieved one of the spent haunt siphons from her satchel. She palmed it before readying it to throw at the 'sacophagus'.
