as carter looks for shadowstuff, he finds a farely solid shard of it, not as much as beofre, but probobly useful, and... A sort of brownish, slowly moving liquid, gradually fading int the ground. If picked up, it's goopy, and is about the size of a fist. It manages to stay together at all times.

eventuslly, the group ascends again, only to see... One of the sleeping people already in the cave, seemingly placed on a resting place by somone... Only to see the blind one walk down the stairs, carrying another sleeping mage.
In place of her mouth, you see a familair, crooked smile.
You see an outline of an odd, crooked smile that wraps all the way around the mage's mouth. It's barely visible, and may just be a hallucination.
Michael Telroth |
"Mm."
Michael grunts in affirmation of their destroying the creatures.
He observes a strange occurrence on the face of one of the mages.
He rubs his eyes, having already wiped the mud and black gunk off of his claws and loading a couple more bullets into the chambers on their way back up.
"Should sleep here tonight. Not up for driving. Need to replace that wheel too.
Calvin "Cal" |
cal pauses a moment at the voice, before determining it was probobly always like that. He looks about, wondring where he should sleep with a a yawn.
Dr William "Bill" Carter |
Te doctor looks suprised, before sighing and shaking his head. he pulls out his research book and jogs down some notes on their observations so far this trip. He pulls out the two pieces of nightmare fuel and writes down a brief physical description on them. He opens each of the vials up individually and smells what they smell like and jots it down.
Michael Telroth |
"Need a watch. I'll take first. Then doctor, Cal, Drake. Questions?"
Michael takes charge, being the alpha type he is and not wanting to go through the semantics of who goes when. And he wasn't about to go without a watch in this place after all they'd gone through.

and so, everyone finds a place to rest for the night, and rests. By morning, those who wake up wake up to the scent of... Cooking eggs and meat. Seems somone's makign a meal. When you look about, you see the blind mage sleeping, one of the mage's cooking using a small flame under a pan- the flame has no decernable fuel source. The last mage is nowhere to be seen, likely on a diffrent floor of the cave. Candles and lanterns are lit throghout the cave, lighting the place up after the shadowbeasts had put everything out.
Drake Dyre |
smells like back on the farm stated in a groggy tone
Drake gets up where he was sleeping against a wall and looks at the
i am going to look around to make sure nothing else is around.
He slomps off to patrol.
icehawk333 |
"A... Dragon? Uhm. Tell me more, please. I'll think on the wheel issue, but... That... Sounds bad. Granted, I don't know much about them. They're ancent history, and really have little to do with my feild of work, but... If there's one here, it becomes... More important."
Dr William "Bill" Carter |
"We simply talked for a bit, before he decided to test us, he had us fight a few creatures that he either summoned or created, and the he passed out gifts,Michel's guns were enchanted with fire, seems permanant but I haven't had a chance to run any tests, the little one, he implied would grow wings eventually, drake got a book, I was given this card, and I have no idea what it does" he pulls out the card "he told us to voice our desires using a single word, and I chose wisdom"
Dr William "Bill" Carter |
"Perhaps test it out first by making some kind of magical constructs that bear your likeness, with some kind of enchantment to allow you to see, hear and speak through the thing, and see what it does to the construct... I'm not sure if that's actually within your capabilities, I know it's not within our own, but that it should be possible"
icehawk333 |
"You think the fey would take kindly to fake things like that? I'm not sure. He seems rather... Erratic. I met another person who met the fey. He had a few too many eyes, and his hand had been removed. So, my other expereices with they fey haven't been.. Good. But maybe it isn't the same one? Who knows, with those things..."
Dr William "Bill" Carter |
"As I said it would be a test, my guess is that there would be about a one in ten chance of it simply destroying or disfiguring it, about a six in ten chance of it talking to you before doing whatever it feels like it, about a one in ten chance of it completely igniting you and a two in ten chance of doing something completely unforesable as to how long, I've been a Mage ever since I found this wand and instinctively used it to cast a spell saving my own life, that was.. Let me think, not quite three years ago, little over two, it was... Difficult until these last couple of months, I had to teach myself, and sift through the fiction to find fact"
icehawk333 |
"Hmm. So not terribly long. I bet you haven't even looked over what that fey gave you... Can you even use aura sight yet? Do you have a familair? Are you one of those types who've bonded strongly to an object? Ooh, is it that wand? I bet it's that wand. You put any shadowbeast essence in it yet? I've got a little to spare, if you want..."
you might get the feeling she doesn't get to meet new people often.
Dr William "Bill" Carter |
The professor chuckles "ok in order, not yet, not yet, yes, yes, not yet, all I have is a cold, dark, and earth atuned essence, and I'm waiting until I can find some air or fire, or something else that seems particularially useful,I haven't gotten my hands on any books or people that could tell me for certain if there would be any downside to shoving all the essence I could get my hands on into it, or if I should stick to a particular element,"
Dr William "Bill" Carter |
"If you have a familiar you could fead it to him, or you could consume it bodily yourself," he says shrugging. "You could also fead it to a permanant, but non bonded, magical item, in any case, I heard from a rather reliable source that the element used does have an effect on what changes occur, you may have heard of him, a one, "Mr. Chalk", or at least that's the name he gave me, I know that the blind member of your group has met him..."
icehawk333 |
"Whenever she feels like it. Sometimes, she'll sleep for days. Thoguh, considring the mumbling, I think she'll come to soon. You're welcome to stay here as long as you need, or until we get sick of you, witchever comes first. So, a few weeks, if you need to."
Michael Telroth |
"Heh. Mable is one of my horse's name too. Small world."
Michael, while being usually gruff and unpersonable smiles at the happenstance as he returns from their cart with a couple loaves of bread and some dried meat in a sack in one hand and several brown bottles in the other. Apparently he isn't against beer for breakfast. Maybe he's one of those people that rarely drinks water on account of the superstition that malific entities can reside in it. Or maybe he /knows/ they can. Either way it would seem he prefers these spirits to those.
