Apparently China (where I live) has started blocking Google Docs/Drive. So I will no longer be able to access the maps. If you'd be willing to switch to another image hosting site that would be awesome. If not I'm probably going to withdraw from the game.
Combat is where my fun is in Pathfinder, and without a tactical map it doesn't do it for me. I understand if you don't want to/can't switch sites, I probably wouldn't want to if I were DMing.
Eugeni Silva |
I'm not really sure what's out there. I know I can get to Photobucket, TinyPic, Roll20, ImageShack, Imgur. Not sure which one of those is easiest to use. Something I need to figure out for my own games, since I'm going to have to switch them too.
China just has beef with Google ever since they refused to stop taking satellite photos of China with Google Earth like five years ago or something. Basically everything else works fine.
Eugeni Silva |
Actually, I just found this site.
It is very easy, take larger images than Google Drive and requires no personal information to register. I just tested it out and it works great. Perfect. Can you use that?
DM Thron |
Don't want to lose any of my players, ya dig? Just wish the post momentum in my various games would pick up, *mumble grumble* *kicks dirt*
Not specifically ranting at you guys, by the way. I'm aware that (I think I'm right on this) three of you are out and about traveling, reducing posting capability. Just a bored nurse on a night where I have to flip my sleep schedule and have things to keep me awake, desperately hitting refresh on his campaigns in hopes of seeing the glorious sight of:
(x New).
Eugeni Silva |
I do need to go update Absalom. The google thing put me in a funk this morning, but Cubeupload has removed the funk.
DM Thron |
Love the gusto, Kala. Once I am certain a majority are ready to go into the next room, I'll make an update.
So far, I'm counting both Kala and Eugeni as yes votes. Morythine implied a readiness to advance, but don't want to assume anything. But if any of the other three give me a green light, I'll advance us along.
Zoli Tileani |
Hey Xam I see you passed a knowledge roll to tell you:
You recognize this creature as a Quasit, a creature formed from the Abyss only when a powerful caster seeks one out as a familiar. They are rather resilient despite their small size, resistant to physical damage unless the weapon is made of cold iron or has been enchanted to radiate "good." Also, they are highly resistant to fire, being creatures of the Abyss. Their wounds also heal naturally very quickly.
Have you shared this with us yet? Between flying, DR, high AC, and fast healing, I doubt we can defeat her, unless you have spells that can do it.
Do you have a spell you think could turn the tide? If not, I think we may need to let her go for today...though I'm not sure Zoli has the info to help her reach that conclusion.
Xamarath Fingoth |
Assuming I got a line on her, I can pelt her with magic missiles and force missiles for the better part of a week. Similarly, Gods of the Dice permitting, Eugeni should be able to tag her with arrows. Maybe having the elemental burrow through the ceiling to pummel her would at least frighten her closer to the ground. Her hit point pool is pretty stout, I will admit. And her AC isn't super easy to deal with; I could have Crichton distract her to get some Aid Another action to Rumblepants.
Will bark out the relevant information on my next action. I don't think this fight is hopeless, but if the dice don't cooperate we're going to be in for a rough time.
DM Thron |
Fight is definitely not hopeless...just get creative and use things that are to your advantage. Xamarath informing the others her strengths might help a bit as well, but only marginally so.
I'd love to drop some suggestions, but as you guys have done very well to this point on your own, I'm going to refrain for now. But if things get ugly, I'll give some more gentle nudging.
Xamarath Fingoth |
I think you may have went overboard on Morythine's movement. You can only move up to your Run speed in a straight line, so the most he could have mustered in present circumstances would have been a double move or huddling in a corner.

Thanks for looking out for me Xamarath! Now go and update Bonegrit's character sheet! :-p
Zoli Tileani |
Thron, I'm thinking about a jump-to-grapple. What is the jump DC?
Zoli gets 1d20+10+1d6 (if she uses her daring do & her luck) on jump... And I wonder what would happen if she jumped from Kala's arms, with Kala giving a boost?
If we could get the quasit onto the ground folks can more easily gang up on it.
... And if Zoli can't make the jump maybe Mr Stinkypants could grapple from above?
Eugeni, can you buff her jump or grapple in any way?
gyrfalcon |
Quick post from phone, but it really seems worth collaborating this round.
Here's a quick proposal:
Kala tries to initiate a grapple.
Then Zoli joins the grapple, if it succeeded, or tried on her own if it failed.
And on down the line, to have the benefit of multiple grapplers.
Anyone have something better?
DM Thron |
Majority vote wins. I'll make the single post to handle it. Working on it now.
To be clear, what I'm going to do is grant you each a surprise round of combat each time a sinspawn is summoned. To summon one, somebody will have to do 1 hp of damage to themself to drip some blood into the pool. The next round, a sinspawn will emerge. The pool had enough points to summon 2 more.
DM Thron |
As a heads up to everyone, I am headed to the beach this Saturday morning for almost a week, and I will be working three 12 hour night shifts before that. Updates will be limited to from my iPad, which I cannot update the map with. So, if we don't clear this out in the next couple days, then combat updates may get few and far between.
Just wanted to give you all a heads up.

Kala Steelheart |
On an unrelated note, Mr. Wizard, sir. Would you kindly pick up Masterwork Transformation at some point? Kala's weapon and shield have sentimental value to her and I'd greatly appreciate if I could just get them magically upgraded rather than replacing them.
Zoli Tileani |
OK, I went ahead and created a loot tracker for our campaign.
The first tab shows what we've found, and who it went to (or unclaimed).
The second tab will show all items grouped by their new owner.
I don't have the time now to comb through and see what all else we've found. If someone else does, I'll happily record it in the tracker...or better yet, I'll happily make any of you an editor of the tracker. Just PM me your email address.
Kala Steelheart |
That magic dagger from Erylium. There was a masterwork polearm from a statue at the start too.
Here's a list of stuff Tsuto had.
Vial of light blue liquid (Spellcraft DC: 16 reveals to be Potion of Cure Light Wounds)
Composite Shortbow (+1 Strength)
An elaborate ring adorned with small rubies all along it's surface (Spellcraft DC: 20 reveals to be Ring of Protection +1
Well-made thieves’tools(Appraise DC 20: 100 gp, Masterwork)
Flute with mithral filigree(Appraise DC 20: 100 gp, Masterwork)
Silver earrings (Appraise DC 20: 25 gp)
Journal
6 pouches of gold dust worth 50 gp each
8 pouches of silver dust worth 5 gp each
10 pp
Keys
Zoli Tileani |
Thanks Kala! I'll add them to the tracker. Did we ID Erylium's dagger yet? If not...Xamarath?
Thron, what do you think about the Master Performer feat (which comes from Faction Guide 57)? Do you allow it? (Not for this level, but I'm planning out my advancement plan a bit).
DM Thron |
I will allow it, but I would like to see it attached to an organization that is either in Sandpoint or one you develop, to reattach it to something of an RP requirement.
For that matter, I forget if I mentioned this or not, but I am fully supportive of people using downtime rules to establish businesses and homes, should you desire.
If this is something that interests any of you, let me know and I will get creative with loot opportunities later, such as deeds, promise of labor and materials, etc., etc.
Also, Xam taking 10 can tell it is a Tiny +1 Returning Dagger.
Zoli Tileani |
Are there minuses for using a weapon smaller than your size? Or only for oversized weapons? Either way, yeah, probably best to sell it.
And as luck would have it, Zoli knows the propitiator at Tulley's Tiny Tools.
