No, just a staggeringly busy Memorial Day weekend. And yes, I should have rolled everyone's init, but it got away from me.

I believe it's Myra's and Kage's turn. The elf drops his bow and loses his action on his turn, having been stunned. Reflex: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15 He just barely avoids being entangled, despite Eris's spell.

Which square did he drop it in, and did he drop it in time for Bess to nab it during the surprise round? I'm imagining Bess using her whip to whip it into her hand. What kind of roll would that be?

No, that's his only bow. It'd be in his square. An attack roll/CMB would suffice, akin to a steal, but only with size modifiers to its CMD since it's not in his hands anymore.

Suddenly there is a noise and Kage is in motion before his mind has had a chance to react, 'Oh hell, here we GO!'

Tapping into the enchantments invested in his shirt, Kage puts on a huge burst of speed. Quicker than a flash he's in the Dryad's face, blood thundering through his veins. His blades flash out, trying to pierce her spleen.

The dryad reels under the brutal attacks of Sa'Kage, and only her fey resistances keep her from falling to that brutal attack. Bess is able to snatch the bow from the grasping vines while the elf is temporarily stunned with a flick of her whip. Myra's attack connects as well,

The force of the Dryad's spell smashes into Kage like a wave, "Must leave, must leave, MUST LEAVE! REFUSE RICER!"

His eyes grow vacant and he steps back subconsciously, and is transported back into the past. The young Kage watches with great red eyes as his master straps the prisoner into the device. Master Brinn gruffly instructs Kage to, "Watch this well young Tith'Kali, and mark the price of pride and disobedience. This is what happens if you get too big for your boots." The prisoner moans with fear as Master Brinn raises the coiled razor lash and prepares to strike! The man tried to shy away from the razor sharp kiss of that fearsome lash, but the spiked restraints at his neck, ankles and wrists held him firm.

With a crack and the sound of tearing flesh the whip laded on the man's chest, opening up a shallow gash curling up round to wards his neck. The man gasped and a thin puddle started to form at his ankles. Again the whip fell and again, one hundred and forty three times and at the end there was nothing left of the mans chest but bloodless gristle.

Kage mutters, "Must... Muuust administer the rite of murd... Must refuse ricer. Must refuse. Muuuuust go. Must kill her. Muuust go." His muscles tense up incredibly as if he's trying to fight the compulsion off by main force. His arms are pantomiming stabbing and slaying but his legs are slowly propelling him away. His skin is quickly taking on an unhealthy pallor as if he's about to be sick.

Wow, that dispel check was just high enough. So close.

"Excellent", Eris replies happily "Now if the dryad leaves her tree and lets us put her to rest, then the prison stays secure, and all threats to its safety are removed. Unfortunately, my allies and I are bound by a contract, so if she continues to hide then I'm afraid we will need to start burning down trees, which might have unforeseen consequences with that prison you mentioned...

The dryad comes stumbling out on the opposite side of the tree in which she had taken refuge, clutching her side where saplike blood flows from the places where Kage had slashed her. She levies a finger at Eris, her fey aspect in full force, alien and enraged.

You! I name you liar and deceiver! Every word spilled from that filthy hole has been false! Why should I protect you mortals if you would seek my life so?

She turns and places both hands on the great willow, which shudders and ripples starting from the hoary roots and reaching to its hanging boughs. By my blood you seal your fates! she announces as the bark around the great trunk begins to split.

I think we kind of lost initiative order here. I'll start it afresh, unless someone feels left out; if so, you can reset your initiative.

"Gah! Apparently she wasn't bluffing. Don't know what that thing is but it looks a touch scary." Watching the gnome run off she adds, "...and trying to outrun that horse looks like a losing game."

Turning to the elf, Bess holds out the bow and says, "Hmmm, if you promise to use it on this thing, you're welcome to this back."

Sense Motive (to judge if the elf is likely to keep attacking the Mantises; if not, Bess holds out the bow so the elf can take it back): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
