So, to recap the chosen group, we're hoping to hear from:

If everyone can work on getting their profiles set up and everything, that'll be good. Mechanical questions and similar such matters can be brought up, and I'll look at sheets as everyone gets them put in. A few things I've noticed or just generally been thinking on.

Enaris:
If you do decide to go the storm druid option, I'm willing to alter the Rage Prophet Prestige class to let it work with the archetype and your concept. As I see it, opposed to requiring the Oracle's curse class feature, it would require the Storm Druid's nature bond feature, and some of the prestige class features would change slightly:
-Savage Seer would have your rage prophet stack with barbarian levels for the purposes of rage powers, and druid levels for the purposes of your domain powers and spell access.
-Rage Prophet Mystery would instead expand your domain spell list (and spontaneous casting), by allowing you to add an additional spell to your domain spells. You would still only add one every 2 levels, and they would need to be drawn from the spell lists of the domain and sub-domains available to the Storm Druid archetype).

We can rename the prestige class and abilities to be more in keeping with the storm theme when you meet the other prerequisites to enter it. (ie, BAB +5, etc)

The last set of mechanics you put up in the recruitment thread was still missing your campaign trait and your Talent, just to make sure you're aware. If you don't feel like digging back through the recruitment thread, the campaign traits are up on the campaign info page.

Belle Mythix:
I like Araki and Larika both, so you can choose between them. I do have a slight preference for Araki, since he would give the party a reasonable potential to deal with dastardly defenses when they come across them. But it is not a deal breaker for you to chose to use Larika instead, if you want.

Tactically I'm going to be tripping things and then hitting them. I'm using a reach weapon so someone with a higher AC to stand behind would be nice.

I can heal a bit, but until we get a wand of cure light it's going to be spotty.

I think we're all going to be hiding behind Ras for the early levels...

Speaking of which, Ras, PLEASE be getting a monitor lizard or giant gecko as a mount at level four. That'd be so EPIC.

The rest of my ranting:
I don't know if we've fought together before, or if standard tactics will emerge, but I think we should probably be in two primary groups; one mobile, one stationary, with fighters screening for both groups.

Ras and Araki make a good team mobility wise, with Ras' mount able to deliver a flanking Araki where needed. I can effectively stop most passerby, but I'm most effective at medium range and useless at long range.

Anyone with the soldier trait its possible to have met or heard of me, I stand out a little.

I think we should consider character conflict, and how much were willing or want to work with, especially with a Nagaji, Half-Orc, and Hobgoblin in the party.
Personally, I relish the RP, so long as it doesn't become deadly. Easy to rationalize if you'd rather have your nemesis in debt to you than dead.

I'm all for coordinating character relationships.
Karval is a soldier as well. Karval is polite, but standoffish, and can get angry if questioned too much. He respects honor, the importance of fate, courage, and violence (by magic, stealth or otherwise). He thinks very little of healers, or of those otherwise unable to defend themselves, and those who shirk their duties disgust him.

Tactics-wise:
Karval is probably most useful in a support role. His magic isn't really going to be doing any damage (the only offensive spells in his spellbook are Flare Burst and Touch of Gracelessness, both debuffs), but he's a relatively competent warrior, and he can boost others. Probably the sort to help the ninja score sneak attacks, or to hang back and sling stones from a distance. In other words, he dabbles in a lot of combat roles, but isn't all that great at any one. :)

I'd say focus a little on buffing AC, it looks like we'll have a few soft targets in the group.
It'll be interesting with Nagaji samurais of different orders in the same group. I look forward to that back and forth, trying to convince each other the other is on the wrong path haha.
Add the indifferent Toph and annoyed Karval, the catfolk and the preacher... oh man. Gonna be good.

Woah, we have a preacher? Missed that. Yeah, Kanoko's gonna annoy Karval a bit. Anybody who believes that the word can be mightier than the sword is going to drive him crazy. XD
As an abjurer, he'll be good at buffing AC. I've focused his abilities on that, in fact, since I couldn't get away with wearing a chain shirt (spell failure chance gets way too high).

I think that Kai can do well as a tank style character. However, with Throw Anything he can also make use of some ranged combat. However I can be flexible with it.

Also wanted to congratulate everyone for making it. I'm looking forward to it.

You should make this interest in reptiles in character. Be funny to see Tophan always trying to get the confused Tong Kai to carry around baskets of snakes and suchwhat.

recently all my edit button has been doing is automatically deleting my post without confirmation.
I absolutely love the reptile obsession I may have to hijack that.


Araki is a soldier as well, prone to disobey orders once in a while if there is a good enough reason, but try to stay in line.

Araki is a "backstabber" (sneak attack) so he will need some flanking buddy.

Araki has beige and brown hairs and skin/fur with white and grey patches here and there, green eyed; stand around 5'8'' weighting around 146 Lbs.


Female Kobold

Oh, Araki is going to drive Karval nuts as well. Disobeying orders whenever one sees fit--only okay when it's Karval doing it. And that's because he knows best. ;)


Male Half-Orc Barbarian

Toph follows orders; in this, he is lawful.
He also improvises his own methods; in this, he is chaotic.

It's pretty likely Toph hits it off with either of you, even if we haven't met before the events of the campaign.


I don't really like Lawfulness, but I will try not to derail the game on purpose.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15


Male Hobgoblin Abjurer 1

Karval wouldn't necessarily dislike Araki for being chaotic. It's not like he has a Hate option and a Less Hate option, he's not Jack Noir. Araki is a good warrior, and seems to be fairly loyal. The catfolk's occasional ignoring of orders would just get on Karval's nerves.

Karval respects Toph, as discussed, and would probably thus tolerate Araki's ways.

Bottom line is, Karval wants to get his missions done. So Araki being unlawful won't derail the game, as far as the hobgoblin's concerned.

Poor girl is going to have to take some time to get used to you lot.. Though it seems like she'll have no problem with Ras.. Likely not Araki, either, unless their actions put them into a situation that she can't talk into a better one. As for Gui.. it depends on how zealous he's going to play it, but I'm pretty certain that Kanoko will somehow manage.

Interactions between her and Karval are going to be very interesting. I can see him trying to set her up in combats, pushing her into dangerous situations to force her to fight. Not blatantly, but perhaps holding the line a bit more carelessly than normal. 'Sink or swim', 'tough love' stuff like that.
If you'd rather avoid such scenarios, I'll be happy to tone it down. Whatever works best for the party and other players.
EDIT: Yeah, sorry, I'm coming off as a bit over-eager. This isn't by any means an important part of Karval's character, only something I thought might be fun to roleplay.

Hah.. I'd hope that at least half of her diplomacy score would help when talking her way out of "unnecessary situations". However, I'm starting her as if she was performing her duty, and the spells she would have likely picked up from there. She is not melee by any means (else she'd be a White-Haired Witch), but a strong proponent of the "word in the right place" philosophy, and her magic reflects that.. at least for now.

You can count on Ras going all Lizardception at level four. XD Edit: Aww, RAW means I can't take it. GM, any chance for being able to switch to a Large version of a monitor lizard at level 4?

Ras will work well with most anyone, provided they take no action that would endanger or shame the honour of Eastwall. He might have issues with Tong Kai, he would believe that Ronin are somewhat disgraceful.
He's actually a pretty tolerant guy in other respects, though not the brightest egg in the nest. He should make for a pretty imposing figure, though; he stands almost 7 foot tall, is armed to the teeth and had red/brown/rust coloured scales.

He'll be happy to be a frontliner and has decent tactical knowledge, and would never let his personal opinions get in the way of performing his duties.

Looks like in this party I might actually be towards the shorter end of the scale :P

Yeah, I am a preacher but more for the class features than the roleplaying aspect. He's a very religious man, but he's not evangelical. It's more his style to live as an example to others, and to preach values rather than dogma.

As far as honor and duty go, I think he and Araki will get along nicely. Lang would never disobey the orders of his trusted local commander, because of their personal relationship. He is loyal to his "pack" until death, but having a bunch of stripes on your uniform is not enough to earn instant respect. He behaves largely like a very intelligent animal, he understands the need for society and cooperation but judges people and things based on their effects in the real world. Not on their human social importance. He sees money and cities as signs of weakness and exploitation of the many for the benefit of the few.

I think I'd be a good flank-buddy for Araki. I have a 30' movement speed in light armor, and with reach it should be easy to get into position. On top of that I can trip and our low BABs will benefit greatly from the +4 to hit

--As for snakes, I almost changed my familiar to a Viper, then I realized the effect it might have on anyone that might see it while she's diplomacizing.

Notices everyone except Kanoko is a soldier, who is dressed like a diplomat. "I feel an escort mission coming up." he states in a gruff yet quiet voice. He pulls a long wooden pipe from his pocket and lights it. As he smokes he begins to pace the tea house floor. He pauses behind Kanoko and takes a couple sniffs in her direction. "Huhn." he grunts, then sits back down.

I know we may not actually be in a tea house, but I feel like getting the RP going.

Impromptu tea party! Hooray!
The short, stocky hobgoblin nods. A scimitar hangs from his belt, and he is wearing clean leather armor. "Wonderful." He says something in the goblin tongue, then continues in Tien. "Splendid. I'm sure this will be a nice experience. A little laugh, eh?"
His voice is deep and slow, but anger seems to always be struggling to escape through tiny cracks in his facade.
He glances at Toph, and shrugs.

Goblin:
"A babysitting mission."

We can always declare this non-canon. If not, the start of the campaign can just take place a fair while later.

"Don't worry too much friend. Surely if they had anything too dangerous in mind they could have found a more..."he pauses briefly and coughs, "...professional looking bunch. I mean, an albino walks into a tea house with a goblin, an orc, a cat, two lizards and a fox sounds like the start of a really terrible joke." He laughs nervously.

Toph bends to enter the room, staying close to the wall to maintain space in the room.
His thick hood is pulled up, brass buckles jingling. He unstraps his pack, dropping it to the floor with a thud and an apologetic shrug. He rolls his shoulders and neck, clearly relaxing after a long journey. Eyes burn red in the dark of his hood, and he inclines his head to those assembled, following the conversation with his eyes.

Kai opens the door of the tea house, and eyes the group inside. He moves to a table on the side and sets his bag down. "Your finest jasmine tea." He says and bows slightly.

When then server brings his tea Kai bows and pays her. He then takes stock of the unusual crowd gathering around him. He leans over to the cat and says "Try this, you'll like it" and produces a small jug from beneath his cloak.
