Serra chuckles, answering his squire.

"Yes, I'm sure Cole will hit something eventually too."

Serra waggles his starknife, looking for the right opening for which to attack....when Beagan comes in to deliver a mighty blow.

Serra huzzahs, cheering wildly at Beagan's strike...exclaiming loudly, making sure Kastor saw that.

"A real smite evil, that was, Kastor! Did you see that, Kastor?! DID YOU!?" Serra looks under the table to see if his squire was paying attention. "The holy hand of the big R guided that strike himself! Kastor, see now the holy hand of justice!"

Serra leaps down to coup de jerk with his starknife, just in case.

Serra:
"He DID It!! He Did it! His god must really have faith in him!" Kastor scrambles out from beneath the table to climb on top of it instead. It takes him more than a few seconds, but he does it. He watches Serra finish off the orc, growling a little beneath his own breath."He's good and dead, right, Sir? He can't hurt her any more."

Anevia -still breathing heavily- kicks the dead orc in the head.

"You'll never touch her!" She turns on her heel and begins searching the house, looking for her wife.

"Irabeth! IRaBETH!"

Alas, there is no answer, and no immediate sign of her.

Map

Eli picks up the ranseur, checking it out. It is a very nice ranseur, but doesn't seem to be laced with anything. Still, it is *very* nice.

Grasker calls upon Iomedae's blessing to light the way to any magical items upon their foe. There are several auras within the room and upon the fallen orc.

Mage armor, shield, two potion bottles, a wand, and the ranseur in Ely's hand.

Each of the companions, as well as Xanthos also radiate various magical auras. Serra seems to trail a radiant aura wherever he goes, though it never seems to settle.

Serra follows Anevia as she checks the house. She opens a small, secret niche in the bedroom. Her hand trembles, but she smiles, visibly relaxing as she reads it.

"It's from Irabeth. She's ok. She's OK!" She yells into the other room. She gathers the other things left in the nitch and returns to the front room (I assume you don't all follow her all over the house.).

"She says those that are left are gathering at Defender's Heart, and says the passphrase silverstrong will let us in." Her smile falters, as she realizes that you have done what you have said you would do; you have seen her home.

"I mean... Thank you so much for getting me this far. Irabeth left these to help me get to Defender's Heart, but I would prefer that you have them. I am not so fragile as all that. It is not very far. Still, if you would join me, we could all make it that much safer." In her hands, she holds 4 carefully labeled vials; two of invisibility and two of cure moderate wounds.

The Ranseur is a ranseur of the gargoyle, CL 5, faint transmutation, 12lbs:

"Anven. He called me Anven. I don't use it anymore. I haven't for a good long while. That he knows it, though, is worrisome. I haven't used that name since I was growing up in Nidal." Her answers come slowly.

"At the very least, it means someone is still looking for me, or at least for him, for Anven." Her chin comes up stubbornly, daring them to say anything.

"Now, can one of you help me get him out of here before he stains my floor?"

Serra lays out the magic on the kitchen table and takes a seat. His girth and armor strains the chair, a creak escapes.

His eyes pass over the remnants of the kitchen, looking for any snacks while the party figures out what to do next. His eyes pass over the tiny onions and mushrooms and alight upon the jar of pickled artichoke hearts.

With a permissive nod of askance to Anevia, he opens them and passes them around. He will also take his dagger to the hard cheese, offering slices about.

He takes a breath and a gulp from his waterskin, a short break while he thinks what to do next.

"...and this ranseur is uniquely protective," Serra says after explaining what each item does and offering them around. Serra would take the wand and would offer to carry the ranseur for the time being.

"Thank you Anevia for the food, a welcome change our rationed fare. With thanks to the good and neutral gods, and our mortal talent for cooperation, we can enjoy this break as Sir Serra suggests and plan our next step."

...if he hears about the loot in the safe - not a sure thing really:

"I think we take these items and bring them with us. We should, by all means, return them to Horgus' kin, but now the safe is open, they'll just be looted if we leave them behind. Hell even if we didn't open the safe chances are someone else would have soon enough."

"Why are you intent on opening it, Serra? Horgus is dead, what belongings there are within would be left to his family, not you."

Serra reaches into the safe to withdraw the contents, quite pleased that his trick worked.

"What's that, Ely? You want to leave this for the cultists to fuel more of their evil? Or did you want to give up the fight against these demons and go track down Horgus' family? I, for one, will use the funds to further the fight against these demons...and make it safe for Horgus' family to return...if he has any. Now, it would be nice if he had a will in here..."

Cole would have heard about the safe, everyone would have. Serra isn't being sneaky for he has no reason to be.

"I am not eager to abandon Horgus, I hope I've shown that. Still we could leave him in his home and look for someone at Defender's Heart. I feel we can respect our fallen comrade and still be careful of our own lives as we travel, with Sir Beagan's formidable battle bunny able to fight & not haul."

Do you want a diplomacy roll for sympathetic persuasion?

Grasker still doesn't know about the office. Big house!
