Active Effects: Flagbearer (+1 morale to attack/damage)

Erei:
Solifugids are sometimes called “camel spiders,” “wind scorpions,” or “sun spiders,” despite the fact that they are neither spiders nor scorpions but rather their own unique species. They have large pedipalps near their heads, used to grab and hold prey while they feed with their twin sets of vertically aligned mandibles. When hunting in groups, they prefer to attack targets already grappled by other solifugids. The various species of enormous solifugids generally have eight legs, although the front two appendages are large enough that they can easily be mistaken for an additional pair of legs.

You know that these creatures can Rend, and if they do, the others will probably turn to attack the target so struck.

Rolling the confirmation for Leto's critical.
Confirm: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 Confirms
2d8 + 2 ⇒ (3, 4) + 2 = 9

Almathea splashes the creature attacking her as she shrieks and Leto finishes it off with a solid hit.

Erei's shot goes wide.

Don't forget to roll initiative Setesh! And a Knowledge (nature) roll if you'd like. :)

Micah lands a solid strike on the Solifugid attacking him. Because they dropped down between you all, with a little bit of shuffling feet you can easily get flanks as you fight. Again, Setesh seems to have a hard time managing to hit small, speedy things, and the spider-creature skitters away from his blow.

Round 2: Initiative 20

The creature attacking Nevai lunges forward to strike again.

Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

The spider-like monster attacking Micah skitters forward to claw at him, then skitters away, seemingly more interested than leaving than pressing the attack. 5-foot step back

Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

The last jumps at Setesh and claws away at his leg.

Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Three of the creatures remain. One seems like it's about to retreat (the one engaged with Micah), and is severely injured. The other two are perfectly healthy and pressing the attack, though the one attacking Nevai will almost certainly move away from his fallen body if pressed.

Micah's precise strike splits his target nearly in two, and Setesh's mace splatters one of the spider-like creature into the ground. Leto's arrow strikes a solid blow and Almathea's acid nearly finishes off the monster attacking Nevai. It skitters back in an attempt to hide, but limping severely. You finish it off easily as it tries to return to its hiding place.

As you explore the rest of the room you find their nest behind the altar. The remains of various creatures are scattered within it but you find nothing else of interest.

The creature rises up out of the ground, the sand slowly coalescing into a solid being. Micah's cutlass clangs as if on stone and Erei's shot goes wide, as does Almathea's first blob of acid. Leto's arrows both strike, though they seem to have little to no effect on the creature. Almathea's second attack burns away some of the sand with a hiss. But then Setesh strikes and half the creature disappears in a cloud. There is a loud hiss that sounds like stone sliding across stone as the Sandling slams itself into the ruins of the southern wall. "Well, okay then. Hopefully that one is gone for good."

Thea will begin to pick her way through the rubble. "Yes, let's continue."

If she makes to the door without any further attacks by anything, Thea will examine the doors. "I suppose it is too much to hope that these scarabs on the door would be solid gold rather than mere paint?"

Nevai glances around for a few moments before realizing that the creature must have fled. "Well, that was surprisingly simple. Good thing we have such talented brawlers to deal with these things."

He then joins Almathea in inspecting the scarab door. "Interesting workmanship and obvious iconography. Perhaps this is the resting place of the man himself?"

Very possible we'll see more of them. But they are planar creatures...not like there's a nest of them anywhere. Oh, and yeah, keep up with the blunt damage. They are pretty durable otherwise.

The golden scarabs are actual gold, but it seems like a plate over the carved stone door. Removing them would almost certainly require destruction of the doors themselves. There are also scarabs on the doors leading back into the room you came from.
