Female Ifrit Swashbuckler 9 (Marshal 2)

Samirah looks like it takes her real effort to not go first. "By all means," she says to Miril, waiting until the other woman has taken the lead.

"Just make sure you're polite and keep your eyes on his." She says, smirking.

Female Demonspawn Monk (Tetori/Qinggong/Hungry Ghost Monk) 5

Drea takes off her hooded cloak, gives her wings a stretch, and likewise prepares to follow.

Male Human Sorcerer 5/Dragon Disciple 4 (Archmage 2)

"...you're right, it was a stupid question." Konstantin gestures toward the nudists. "Perhaps we should all disrobe to make them feel more comfortable."

Sense Motive DC19:
He's joking. It's that dry Irrisani wit no one has ever praised.

Samirah:
His hand gently cups her rear, his skin electric against her. She can feel his hand twitch, as though he is fighting the urge to stroke.

"I feel there will be no way to plan our first time, but I suspect it will be desperate. It does not matter... there will be time. So long as we are together and remain alive. There will be time."

Female Demonspawn Monk (Tetori/Qinggong/Hungry Ghost Monk) 5

Vows:

Chancre Cailean wrote:
"So no more antitoxins or potions of lesser restoration, stuff like that? It sounds a little dangerous, but that's your decision."

"It is a little dangerous," Drea agrees. "But if it were easy, there wouldn't be much point."

Chancre Cailean wrote:

"Let me show you something."

Chancre pulls up his kilt.

On his thigh, which is otherwise fishbelly-white, there is a tattoo. It's a bad tattoo. If you're feeling charitable, you could call it stylized. It's three chain links with the middle link broken.

"Not a fan of chains, so I was curious."

Drea nods. "I'm not one either," she says as she looks over the tattoo.

"If there's more of a story behind that, I'd like to hear it sometime if you'd like to tell it."

Female Ifrit Swashbuckler 9 (Marshal 2)

Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 17
So close!

"Only if you go first." She crosses her arms in front of her.

Konstantin:
In response, she sighs, and watches the scales on his chest shimmer briefly in the low light of the inn as the heat and condensation of her breath moves across them. "Yes... I'm confident that time is something we have great quantities of."

She reaches up to rest her arm on his chest, hand nestled in the curve where his neck and shoulder meet.

Female Half-Elf Sanctified Rogue 9 (Trickster 2)

Míril strides purposefully up to the two naked men. She smiles as charmingly as she is able. Which is quite a lot, really.

"Prelate. Lord Nyserian." She gives an appropriate curtsey to each of the men. "Please forgive me for being so bold as to ask, but why are you two standing here in such..." She pauses, looking for right way to phrase this. "...attire?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Sense Motive (to see if they're under Enchantment once they start talking): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

As the group gets into close range of the two men, Hulrun turns jerkily to face in their direction, although he doesn't move from his post near the door. After a few beats, his mouth stretches in a too wide smile, showing both top and bottom teeth. "Don't like the view?" As the old, normally stoic man wiggles his hips.

Kandro's head lurches toward the group's direction, "Come to turn yourself over to Deskari?" His voice sounding like he has smoked a pack of cigarettes daily for the duration of his life. "'bout time people realized just how f*~+ed they are."

Miril:
No, that is not how Kandro sounded. At least as of a week ago.

Slight flex

Samirah Basri wrote:
She turns to Irabeth. "Why are they naked?" She whispers, as though she expects Irabeth to actually have an explanation.

Irabeth considers the question. "Best guess would be intimidation or because nudity is inherently distracting giving the naked man a edge in combat. Or that was why the Kellids often fought nude."

She motions at Kon and then Drea, "And unarmored does not mean unprotected." A pause, "Even if I personally feel more comfortable in steel than magic."

Samirah nods in agreement. "I understand the benefit of fighting unencumbered," she gestures to her own lightweight armor, "but you have a point. They could be well shielded by spells and hoping to distract anyone coming in to pay the garrison a visit."

chavamana wrote:

Tools of the Trade/Drea:
Aravashnial starts to answer the question with his normal brusk tones, then hesitates. "Generally, that would be more a matter of the unique creature's religious leanings, which is not my area of expertise." He says. "However, I sense that you ask this question expecting a particular answer. Especially since you are limiting the religious connotations to demon lords."
Drea:
There does not seem to be a set uniform for the crusades. Most of the warriors are dressed in armor and most of them do wear symbols of Iomeadae, but that is more an effect of her followers being the most prevalent in the crusades both in the general population and among the hierarchy including Queen Galfrey. However, there are also those whose armor or shields are emblazoned with symbols of Torag, Sarenrae and a number of the other gods and demi-gods whose followers fight the good fight. Individual mercenary and crusader groups to have iconography. For example the golden patina on Irabeth's armor is traditional of the Eagle Watch and her armor is adorned with Iomeadae's swords, although her shield isn't.

Female Half-Elf Sanctified Rogue 9 (Trickster 2)

"O, rydych dyn tlawd."

She turns slightly to face the rest of the team. "Kandro doesn't sound right," she says, just loud enough to be heard.

Elven:
"Oh, you poor man."

Female Ifrit Swashbuckler 9 (Marshal 2)

Samirah gives Miril a very friendly smile. Maybe too friendly.

And then she turns to face the naked men. "We'd like to go inside, and as you both seem to be possessing or otherwise controlling upstanding gentlemen in well respected positions in the city... we'd also like to give you one chance to leave those bodies and let us pass."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

Hulrun's grin somehow gets wider. "We can certainly let you in. All you have to do is strip naked and leave your weapons here."

Kando's head jerks to look at each person in the group, "And the spellcaster would need to be gagged."

The voices gravelly, but the tone reasonable, as if any sane person would agree to the ridiculous demands.

Female Demonspawn Monk (Tetori/Qinggong/Hungry Ghost Monk) 5

Aravashnial:

"It's only a guess on my part, but I don't think I would be surprised to discover it was the chosen weapon of a demon lord associated with succubi."

Samirah looks to Miril, this time with a failed attempt at an apologetic look on her face. Then looks again to the two men.

"We will not be leaving our weapons or our clothing behind, and we will most certainly not be gagging the spellcaster." Her voice gets a little fiercer at the end of her statement. "But we will now be entering the Garrison."

With her scimitar, she gestures "move aside". And she moves forward.

"Does this nudity reflect a change in your religious status?" Chancre looks the men up and down. "Or are you naturally happy to see us?"

For those interested:
The old prelate does not seem to be particularly happy... in anyway you want to take that.

Chancre attacks the prelate with his boring old corkscrapier. And the corkscrew goes in far too easily... and brings out... something. Something purple. Does the human body have one of those?

Chancre:
No... Heal check says no.

After the magical damage, then almost immediate healing, Samirah lunges (1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 82d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 1) + 3 = 8) for Kando to repay him in kind. Just barely nicking the man's skin. Which does not bleed.

Taking her que from Drea, Míril moves to the other side of the merchant, flanking him. She strikes at him with her blade. Her blade, too, just manages to damage the man, blade sliding in where the kidney should be, without the black blood that would indicate the strike was true. There is no visible damage, but Kandro's movements are jerkier, indicating deeper injuries.

Roshan moves forward a step throwing two cold iron chakrams at Kando, the round man dodges the first but not the second - which burns his skin.

K: planar DC 12:
Cold iron equals full damage... which probably means demon. Or something else with resistance to non-cold iron weapons.

Hulrun strikes out with his arm, as he had when Chancre advanced, but Drea's blow may actually be disorienting the man because he doesn't get close to Drea or Chancre.

Kandro also strikes out at his foes with a forearm, instinctively striking at the target for whom he'd have flanking - if Hulrun were not so far away. And the blow sends a ringing in Miril's long ears. ... the blow deals 6 hit points.

Drea's arm blurs forward and the heel of her palm connects solidly with Hulrun's temple. The flesh moves oddly against the bone beneath, slipping ever so slightly.

Konstantin steps back to the limit of his range and sends a ray at Hulrun. Which hits solidly and is absorbed harmlessly into the flesh.

Kon:

And that would be the despised cold resistance.
... Or it would have been if SR wasn't a b$&&~. I don't think you have Spell Penetration yet.

Irabeth's eyes focus and she draws her longsword as she advances, attacking Kandro without blocking the line of fire from either Konstantin or Roshan. Her blow also hits Kandro, but like Mirils and Samirah's, does not fully damage the man.

Samirah sees Miril take the hit, then attacks Kandro with more ferocity to take his attention away from the half-elf.

"Your target is here, demon!" Samirah's sword slices through the man's flesh is peels back a little, revealing more layers of flesh beneath. Despite taking less damage than most, Kando's grin drops, his movements grow restless. Kando is shaken for 3 rounds.

"Someone remind me later to pick up a cold iron short sword," grumbles Míril.

With her free hand, she then touches her Scale, and causes her short sword to be aligned with Good. She repeats her attack on the demonic merchant. Kandro's body stiffens then goes limp against the wall with Miril's attack.

With Kandro fallen, Roshan takes another step and throws his final two cold iron chakram. Both strike solidly, slicing through flesh.

Hulrun attempts to repeat his opening spell, but doesn't manage to hold his concentration with the pressing weapons and the wounds.

A thin red line appears at Kandro's throat. Flesh colored petals push their way out the circumference, until the toothed things, are about a foot out, then the petals snap closed, swallowing Kandro's head with a fleshy snap. The man's flesh starts to fall away, revealing a worm-like creature who obese head holds teeth. The wounds that got through the human-flesh armor heal as the demon consumes the flesh. It snaps at Samirah, but the fear she instilled in it holds, and she dodges easily.

K:planar DC 18:
The worm-like demon is a vermlek. A ghoul-like demon that feeds on the dead and, given time, can inhabit dead flesh and wear it as a meatsuit. They aren't the most advanced of demons, but their affinity for the dead means they heal from negative damage, allowing them to attack their living foes and heal themselves at the same time.

They are reistant to spells. Resistant to all weapons except those blessed or made of cold iron.

K:planar DC 23:
When their meatsuit is too damaged to give them any protection they can abandon the flesh, eating it, healing themselves from the dead flesh. Their inhabitantation of the flesh allows them to preserve the dead body in a almost perfect semblance of life.

Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 7 - 2 + 2 = 26 Flanking included
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Cold Iron

Bite: 1d20 + 2 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 - 2 + 2 = 6 Flanking included
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Possible Text: Drea continues to lash out with the cold iron edge of her glove, knocking off another chunk of the suit of dead flesh.

Round 3:

Míril continues her assault, now on the worm that had been piloting Kandro and is now out in the open. But the worm being as small as it is throws off her aim and she hits nothing but air.

Short Sword Attack (the extra +2 is for the flanking I always forget to add): 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 2 = 10
Short Sword Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Sneak Attack Damage (assuming it applies): 2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3

Female Ifrit Swashbuckler 9 (Marshal 2)

Round 3:

The look on Samirah's face is triumph at turning the demon's attention to herself that turns to disgust at watching its human flesh slip away. She continues her assault.

To Hit: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 4 = 12

Chancre follows Miril's lead and activates the scale to align his corkscrapier good.

Then he attacks the prelate with it again. Quite successfully, leaving blackened skin behind.

The look on Samirah's face is triumph at turning the demon's attention to herself that turns to disgust at watching its human flesh slip away. She continues her assault. Her attack against the de-humaned demon is quite good, even if its flesh still resists part of the damage.

Míril continues her assault, now on the worm that had been piloting Kandro and is now out in the open. But the worm being as small as it is throws off her aim and she hits nothing but air.

Seeing the creature rise back out from his death, Roshan switches back to his original target. With targeted efficiency two cold iron kunai sink into the worm-like flesh.

Still in Hulrun's human flesh, the demon tries to cast - and again fails to have the concentration.

But not so for the creature who has lost his human armor. Black energy arcs out from the large worm, engulfing itself, Samirah, Miril, and Irabeth. Some of its own wounds heal. Miril takes 9 hit points, Samirah takes 11 hit points, and Irabeth takes 3 hit points.

Drea continues to lash out with the cold iron edge of her glove, knocking off another chunk of the suit of dead flesh.

Konstantin advances, ready to dart in and heal someone who falls.

Irabeth clearly annoyed with how much the worm damaged her allies, wounds the worm more than it healed itself.

Roshan
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 211d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 61d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 231d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Irabeth
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 251d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Kandro
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 221d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Hulrun

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 61d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Will DC 15 vs worm
Miril: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Samirah: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 71d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Irabeth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 271d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Female Half-Elf Sanctified Rogue 9 (Trickster 2)

I'm fairly certain that last blow has Míril at negative hit points.

Male Human Inquisitor 9 (Guardian 2)

"I have decided that I don't like you," Chancre says. "It drives me a little crazy when people won't converse. I suppose in that regard, demons are people too. No offense."

Round 4:

Again Chancre draws back the corkscrapier and attacks.

again I assume a flank

attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 2 = 9

damage: 1d6 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 1 + (3) = 7

I have her at -21 of 24 hit points. Lost 18 and healed 12 in the surprise (-6). 6 damage in round 1 (-12). No damage in round 2 (-12). 9 Negative energy in round (-21). Miril should have been fully healed prior at the Defender's Heart if not before. I ... was double checking to make sure I hadn't missed something.

And looking at the math. Miril should have a max of 25 hit points - 8+4+5+4+4(con).
