Yeah. Haha...or especially not a certain aiel who already shamed herself and fled in panic at a mere trolloc recently and now... Well, at the rate pbps tend to go and the lack of healing in the world, I will have the stats of a npc wetlander commoner until Christmas time. This is bound to be quite a humbling experience for poor Fia. :P
Also, with all the panic inducing roaring we've encountered lately, I think investing in some earplugs may be wise. :)

I humbly apologize for my unannounced - and entirely unplanned - absence.
You see, my home internet has crapped out on me once again, and I am waiting for it to be restored. Until it is, I can't come online every day. Please DMPC me as required... >_<;

so these last two weeks have been really hectic for me. Battling a virus that eats all of your data just sucks, big time. But it also gave me a chance to look at something with a new set of eyes, this game.
Ive spent the last two weeks looking at this game when i could, reviewing the info, and my first thought when i see this is "oh, this will be a lot of work to do to get caught up on." Now that thought made me pause right there. Since when did i consider being a DM and gaming in general, work? It took me a couple days to figure this out, and i realized that it is possible that i may be burnt out, or exhausted, from DMing this game. I still have a lot of campaign subplots to resolve, from Ryvins parentage, Kodo's connection to reality, Vala's pregnancy, Ryland becoming the heart of the warrior and Fia becoming the heart of the pattern, to litheene's brush with the Dark Lord, Alathea becoming the mother to the next Dragon, and so on. These are all still there, and I do want to see them to completion.
But, I need a break from this campaign. So I am taking one.
Instead of stopping cold turkey and not gaming, i have been thinking about this other campaign that i had created last year for a group that i met with in RL. The campaign is based off of the video game called The Oregon Trail, and would start the group off in Independence Missouri. The group i was with fell apart quite rapidly, so the party wasnt able to get much farther beyond the Missouri river.
So, why am i including all of the above in this statement. Because i like you guys as a group. You all work well together, and have been through a lot in this campaign. I would be remiss in myself as a gamer to not offer you all first crack at joining up on this brief "palate cleanser". I dont see this as a massive campaign like this one is, but perhaps an adventure through the days of history with a fantasy twist the American revolution fought with Silver and Red Dragons
If you decide to join me in my breif adventure, excellent. If you decide to not, I understand. WHen I get refreshed and ready to tackle this grand campaign that we are all a part of, i will PM you.
Thanks

I can relate to getting burned out on a game you're GM'ing, so no worries from my end. ^^
I'd definitely be interested in this game. Do you have a recruitment thread up>

I totally get needing a break. It can be entirely essential to clear your head once and a while, lest stagnation or writer's block set in. That said, I think I will take the break. I'm pretty busy these days, and haven't had time to contribute as much as I'd like. Let me know when you are ready to start up again, whenever that might be. Catch you later.

I would definitely be interested in joining you. I have been having fun with this campaign so far, and I enjoy the company of the others with whom I play.

Completely understandable Rizzen. I imagine handling a group and campaign this large can take its toll after a while. Though I have to say, seeing all those 'subplots' listed out like that just makes me want more and want it now! lol
Seriously though, take as long as you need. I'll be ready to come back when you're ready to continue.
Also, time has been a bit short lately for me too, but I may also be interested in the other campaign if I can think up a decent character. I've always liked the idea of a pseudo historical campaign, but have never been able to find or put one together. Let us know details / recruitment thread and I'll see if / what I can throw together. :)

I understand, and I will also be waiting. It can get hard sometimes to follow when lots of stuff happen around. And then it drains some of momentum out.
I doubt I can go for another campaign right now, too many changes in RL. But I will always be glad to get back on the campaign, once it's on once more.

ok folks. good news. This game is back on.
ive worked on the story line, made some tweaks, and am happy with what ive created.
that said, I shall be making my first post today.
We are picking up when the al'raken attacked. i will simply copy and paste what i typed in there. it is only fair that since we are restarting, we restart with everyone at full hit points and not stunned or under the fear effects. of course, if you fail the saves again, then that's your own fault.
I do not expect any postings this weekend. I want everyone to reread the last few pages of postings to help remember what has happened. I know i will be because it is a good read!
Fiallain Bo'airr |
Awesome.
Rizzen, I'm assuming that with the reset of the encounter, Fia's second overchanneling (and its effects) never happened, but I am still in the last 'day' of not being able to touch the source from when I did it in the cave on the other world. Am I interpreting things correctly?
Kodokura |
Just a heads up GM, I'm stoked that this is up and running again, but I'm going through a bit of a rough patch at the moment, and my posting may be sporadic for the next few weeks. I'll be doing my best to keep an eye on things, but don't let me hold up the game. Cheers :)

My home internet is being ... less than cooperative (again), and I may not be able to come online everyday. Please don't think that I've given up on the game! I hope service will return to normal soon; feel free to DMPC me if that should become necessary.

I've been off the boards for a bit, taking a bit of a break from PbP in general. I'll probably be back eventually, but at present I'm only checking in only every once in a while. I think I'd still be up for this game when it restarts, but I might not get the message immediately.
Litheene |
Checking every once in a while.
Actually I have been thinking of trying some more classic style synchronous sessions (rather than pbp) for online gaming, though a WoT world still sounds great, preferable to good old d&d.
Anyone interested?
I am talking about trying to organise sessions of gaming via chats and/or Skype and such.

I am very impressed with the way that everyone has hung about on this game. Most games would be long dead by now, but it seems to me that we are all pretty much ready to pick right back up where we were.
RIZZENMAGNUS |
All of you should have received a question from me, asking if you would honor me in joining this campaign again. The reason i asked is because this last time i attempted the start up, i wasnt ready for it. I thought i had the time to do this and the other campaign, along with all my outside concerns, but this was not the case. Add to that my memory isnt the same since my visit to Iraq, i frankly forgot that i had restarted this (my RSS feed for this campaign decided to not work as well).
So right now i ask if you all are interested in joining me in continuing this campaign, and hopefully live long enough to participate in the Last Battle?
Where we are right now, with facing the al'raken, im striking that from the record. instead, i will pick up with you guys first meeting the bandit version of Ryland.
If you dont wish to participate, i do understand. I know i havent been the most reliable these last few months, but i do hope you will give me the chance to earn it back.
RIZZENMAGNUS |
now, since we are starting up, there is one project that i need to do, but i hope that bribery will help me out with this.
there are a lot of home rules that have been created throughout the course of this campaign, but they havent yet been merged into a single location for easy reference.
what i am hoping to bribe the players with is in exchange for going through all of the campaign threads, finding the house rules, and putting them into a single document, i would be willing to give a free level advancement AND 5 free rerolls
here are the links to all of the campaigns
DM jonastys WOT campaign shadows in light could be some info in there
the enemy of my enemy is my friend my official start as WOT GM
the combined campaign where jonastys and my campaigns merged
the taint. where the party split. world of tainted women.
teh dragon reborn the battle of dumani wells has failed. the alternate world we are in right now.
Fiallain Bo'airr |
Oh heck yes. I'm in.
Also, I may poke around in the old threads if I get some time(a level up is much in order), but it probably won't be until sometime next week.
Fiallain Bo'airr |
Ooh, are you our mystery guest??
Also, I think Finn left a querry in the Oregon campaign Rizzen if you haven't seen it.
