Well just in case says taleisin holding his weapon in hand but yes we didn't get all the way out here and stay as the ground floor of a wizard's tower he says climbing up.

Friend or Foe we are coming up on the behalf of Mariel he says shouting

Nathaniel sighs briefly.
"Whatever is in there surely has got the opportunity to prepare..."

The first floor looks somewhat like the ground floor, made of white marble but covered with large thick carpets that keep the cold of the floor away. The walls have different paintings on them, some beautifully painted, others resembling a crude depiction of a castle or map of the continent you're on.

As Taliesin calls up the stairs, you hear a faint echo travelling up the tower, but no response comes from above.
A large round oaken dining table stands on this floor with 5 chairs around it.

There's also two very large bookcases filled with books, most of them about history, geography and herbalism, there's also an interesting pair of books about astronomy.

"We've had some meals here, Serassus invited people over sporadically, but he knew how to cook. The kitchen is actually up the next floor." Mariel says as she moves over carefully towards the next set of stairs.

Perception DC 15:
The room feels smaller than the ground floor, something which wasn't as obvious from the outside only on the higher levels. It also seems to be a continuous temperature in the room, it might just be the carpets though.

David, conjures up some minor magic to distract the children from their current predicament. He looks on as the woman is bandaged up and taken care of by Elenzar.

When prompted to check out the tower, David wonders what it could hold. Upon entering the first floor, he looks down to the shattered items on the ground. His ears perk up when she mentions magical goods. He instantly thinks back to father and all the information passed down to him over the years.

This Serassus, if we can find him perhaps he could enchant Hearthem's equipment to better fend off the goblin horde, thought David at the mention of Serassus' name.

David, will look down at his feet, realizing that he is quite comfortable, Hmm, anyone else feel comfortable? Not too hot or cold, but just right? Feels kinda nice actually.

David, will have his crossbow drawn and loaded, just in case something what to come out from the shadows. Hold his bow in one hand, he summons forth magical energies to sense the weave around him.

one hand on crossbow, use other hand to cast detect magic and scan room for any "pings"

David's Detect Magic spell actually goes off in the entire room, which makes him a little dumbfounded as besides Arvitnh's magic he has never witnessed a powerful spell as this before.

Spellcraft DC 21:
You have the idea that there is a Permanency Spell cast across this room, spreading presumably an Endure Elements spell which keeps the room at a constant and comfortable 18 degrees Celsius.

David sees two other small blips go off on his 'radar', seeing two hidden fainter auras in the bookcase, close to the pair of books relating to astronomy. A closer inspection from David reveals a bundled up pair of scrolls and a yellow ring behind them.

Spellcraft Scrolls DC 21:
The scrolls are a scroll of Ventriloquism and one of Vocal Alteration, both CL 5.

Spellcraft Ring DC 22:
This yellow ring is a Ring of Spell Knowledge 1, though unfortunately there is no spell knowledge yet stored in it.

David's jaw drops at the sight of all the various auras. He starts with the rug, and then moves onto the bookcases, but do to the shear mass of the room, he is unable to get a handle on any of the auras and what they may do or be.

Hey guys, this room is, well, amazing. The only other time I have seen a room like this is Arvinth's, there is magic everywhere, and well I am kinda overwhelmed at it all. I found a pair of scroll cases and a finely polished ring, both magic. I can't seem to wrap my head around them and what they are. Sorry guys.

Nathaniel holds his shield in front of him.
"Allow me, if anything comes flying towards us the shield will take the blow instead of a limb.".....*sly joking smile at Elenzar.*

Nathaniel Perception DC 15: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

Nathaniel sees as he goes up the next sets of stairs, shortly after followed by Taliesien, a piece of rope strung across the stone steps. Knowing not what the purpose of it is, he can just step over it if he wants.

The next room, which was mentioned to be the kitchen, still has the white marble lining the floor, but now also alternated with black marble tiles almost like a checkers game.
Perception Nathaniel DC 12: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

There is a fire place in this room as well as a furnace and stove, with large cooking pots, a table with dried herbs and a mortar and pestle and a bowl of bones from a cooked and eaten chicken.

There's no one in this room, but there are smudges leading to a window that looks out over Olkirk. Looking out of the window you could see Nathan with his horse standing below.

Male Half-Elf Scribe=Warrior 1/Inquisitor 4 HP 30/30 AC 18 Perception +11 Init +6 Fort +6 Reflex +5 Will +7

Elenzar looks about the kitchen. Pausing to look at the array of utensils and to evaluate the condition of the room.

perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

Specifically Elenzar is trying to ascertain (subjectively) if it appears to be kept up well by human verses goblin standards.

Assuming Nathaniel mentions the rope you all step over it.

When Elenzar enters the room he can see where the rope could have led to, a makeshift throwing arm with several knives on it. Should anyone trip on the wire, he could have gotten hurt.

The room looks quite neat and Elenzars suspects that there has been someone in this room only recently. The smudges of dirt and mud on the floor seem relatively recent and the dinner rests aren't molded or rotten yet.
Actually no rotten foods are discovered which is in itself odd for an abandoned building.

The smudges follow a pattern from the window to the next set of stairs.

Elenzar can hear a muffled sound of something heavy from the next floor or perhaps one above that. Either something fell or a door was thrown shut.
Anyone with a Perception DC 23 can hear the same sound

The kitchen doesn't have anything else of particular interest, there are some hard bread and sealed jars of jam in the cupboards as well as smoked pieces of venison above the fireplace. The cutlery that is lying around is silver and could fetch a small penny. Appraise checks if you want to take it with you.

The next set of stairs isn't straight but curves upwards to the right, the stones look rough hewn and stable.

Mariel will follow you around, but will not head up the stairs first. Who wants to go first?

The stairs is now difficult terrain for the remainder of the duration, the entire upper half is covered in the greasy substance.

Slowly moving up the stairs, Taliesin and Nathaniel notice a strong light coming from the next room and a faint humanoid outline standing in the doorway to it.

Perception DC 20:
Whatever this is, it doesn't seem phased by your approach and has a weapon lifted in his hands. The light from the next room blinds you too much to accurately see details of the creatre or its weapon.

Perception DC25:
After an initial blinding your eyes adjust and the vague shape of an axe comes into view, a large axe even. The creature itself though, doesn't appear to be human, nor a goblin elf or orc for that matter. The light around it illuminates now a sort of wooden armour.

If you come within 20 feet of the top, the others might see the same thing, as I'm envisioning that's where Taliesin and Nathaniel are right now. Also you could squeeze together on the stairs, other than that it's just over 5 feet wide.

Although Taliesin was prepared against an attack, the force behind the blow was harder than he anticipated. The large axe hits home hard on Taliesin's shoulder and he can now see the lifelessness in the 'eyes' of the shape.

Between the blow the guardian dished out and the strong light in the next room, Taliesin still manages to see that it must be a bedroom. A large sized bed stands in the middle of the room.

Is there enough room for the rest of us to make our way up the stairs so we can attack the construct? The way I read it the construct was at the top of the stairs with Taliesin right in front of him on the stairs and the rest of us populating the stairs behind him, so all we could really do is ask him for information and shout encouragement.

You can help him in the fight, cast spells, fire arrows. If you want to engage in melee combat with it, Taliesin could back down and let one of you take the point instead of him. But you are right Forfax, the construct is blocking most of the way into the room.
You could squeeze together with Taliesin but you would take the penalties for that. Or you could try to tumble your way past it using Acrobatics.

Note there is still Grease on the stairs, so it's difficult terrain you can move half your movement. As it stands I envision it likes this.
