Maria van Berchove |
Maria looks at Phillip disapprovingly while taking a finger to her lips.
She stands next to the door and nods to the others.
When they are ready she casts shield on herself (10 rounds), then haste using her Extend rod (so it lasts for 14 rounds) and then gets her Persistent rod out.
Then opens the door.
Tribim |
minotaur meat? I'd rather eat the rot grubbs
Trib rolls his eyes and goes and stands behind Maria, waiting for her to open the door, rapier and shield in hand.
init.: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 just in case
Klor Kragsson |
Klor tries to get away from the aberration as it passed through, but to no avail. that was damn unsettling. Like the pic you say? well perhaps if we meet this blood suckin' wench, Ole Tarnack ere will ave ta be givin' her a bit o trim, like from the neck up.he says with a laugh.
The group moves on, dead Minotaur's, lets make sure it stays that way. Klor ignites Tarnack and severs the head from the body, and letting the flame of his axe burn the grubs as it slices through.
cant be to careful now can we.
This place is gettin ta be more like zolurket every step a da way.
reaching the next door, Klor accepts the magic and readies shield and Axe.
It's choppin' time
init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
didn't bother with the perception about the painting as it was already identified.
drbuzzard |
Opening the door causes the chanting to soar to deafening volume. Anyone who stands inside the room, or within ten feet of the open doorway for more one round after the volume increases must succeed on a DC 15 Fortitude save or be deafened for 2-8 hours.
There is nothing actually present in the room. On the far wall is another door heading west.
Maria van Berchove |
Maria screams to the others while covering her ears...
"Quickly! Get to the other side!"
She will use her Sacrificial Boon Bloodline Power to gain a +1 sacred bonus to her ST in exchange of 1 HP.
Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
She barely, and thanks to her sacrifical boon, avoids being deafened.
With haste they all have a 30' speed bonus, so I expect she can reach the other side of the room and open the next door in the same round.
Tribim |
fort: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
be careful Missy
barely hearing Marie over the chanting, Trib following her, rushes to the other door, hoping the sorceress doesn't set off any traps in her hurry.
drbuzzard |
Alchemist runs for it, fort save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30 pass
You make it across. The room is decorated with a mural depicting a scene from the infernal planes. Devils are tormenting wicked souls, who float in a pool of flames, as figures in black robes watch and applaud.
A statue of a halfling stands in front of the mural, looking up at the flaming pool. The statue is realistic to every detail, but appears to have been standing in place for a very long time.
Maria van Berchove |
Metagame-wise: I bet you become rock if you stare at the mural, but I am not sure if Maria can get to that conclusion too, or she needs a Knowledge (Arcana) or Spellcraft check for it...
Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
Maria van Berchove |
So can she use common sense and tell the others not to look at the picture? (Not that it will stop Archaemedes, I fear)
Maria van Berchove |
Maria quickly assumes the statue is a petrified person, and that the mural was the cause.
"Don't look at the mural! I bet it petrifies you! Help me try to move turn the statue so it doesn't look at it... maybe we can save that poor soul. Mr. Tribim, please check the next door"
I guess there is a door out of here...
Tribim |
how's that supposed to help, telling us not to look at the mural makes us want to look at the mural more
"I's'l get right on 'at, mam"
Trib scratches his head, but heads to the south eastern door and checks it for traps.
take 20[33] on perception
Tribim |
Trib quickly checks the door to the north eastern part of the room
take 20[33] on perception
Maria van Berchove |
"Master Kragsson, Master Sandoval, please turn the statue so it doesn't look at the mural. Let's at least help that poor soul see something else for all eternity."
Tribim |
seems both doors are clear
as the other team members turn the 'statue' Trib reports to Maria,
"both doors appear ta be clear mam"
when the group decides what door to enter through Trib will take his place behind Maria
Maria van Berchove |
After Klor and Gregor help her move the statue, Maria moves to the north east door, waits for the others to get ready, and opens it.
Maria van Berchove |
Maria will peek out off the corner of the door to see into the room...
Stealth Roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
I hope she gets bonus for cover and everything.
Tribim |
following Maria to peek around the corner Trib squeezes past her and looks around the corner also
"Pardon me mam, let me takes a look to"
stealth: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23
perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19
drbuzzard |
As you (Maria) move to peek around the corner, a glowing man in monks robes moves up and attacks you in a flying kick.
to hit: 1d20 ⇒ 14 hit
damage: 1d10 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22
Then he pushes back off you for a backflip and lands in a good dismount (which the East German judge grudgingly gives a 7).

If successful, swift action to attack 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
damage 1d6 + 19 ⇒ (2) + 19 = 21
If I missed, he is no longer demoralized.
If he attacks me, I will attempt to parry his first attack
Maria van Berchove |
Tribim |
forgot about the haste, if you all don’t want trib to to take 20 on doors, or if there is a reason to hurry, like haste, remind me
wow that was a good dismount
Surprised and offended that the monk would hit a woman, Trib begins to begins to advance saying
”well, ‘ats jus dirty pool, yeah”
init: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Feeling Maria cast on him he looks down and realizes he is invisible he giggles and begins to flank the glowing monk
No one ever casts enlarge on the Halfling, well this will do
he has 30 ft movement so I believe I moved him ok, if not place him where he would be, thanks
Archaemedes Falco |

The monk decides he might as well finish beating down the woman because he is EEEEVIL!!!.

Gregor will step over Maria's unconscious form to protect her and continue to attack.
