Well when I rolled her stats, they were, well, amazing. So it led into this idea of a sahilyph that was some how above other sahilyphs. She is next in line to be Queen where she comes from, but she has long since left that forest, wanting to live among others. She doesn't agree with the sahilyph mistrust of outsiders, so she left to learn more about the world, being of the curious sort.
Also, add this to the fluff: Sahilyph are known for cultivating all sorts of plant life, going to great lengths to raise rare flowers and mushrooms, and even go out into fields at certain times of the year to promote blooming and growth there. They are known for shaping plant growth for their homes, clothes, arms and armors, tools, etc.

CAlex - just a quick note. I understand why you want to get a look at her spell books, but just so we are clear about a couple of things. First, right now you get the feeling she thinks you are far more powerful Wizard than you actually are. Second, that wonderful Role Play opportunity to get free spells added to your spell book is tempting, as it alwasy should be, but you really don't have the time. She will agree that an exchange of resources is a good idea, but she knows you've got to be on your way back to Woodbridge, soon.
Caorann - I am going to try to get you into the game this week. I just have a question, would you like to be the kind of person (lyph) that most of the people in this village already know, and are use to seeing her come and go, or would you like to be a stranger to this community?

Sorry for the inactivity, my pc has broken down tuesday morning and this is the first day I have access to a pc with internet that I have the time and privacy to hang out on the forums.
I had actually hoped to get in a message or that someone could post for me excusing me for the time being.
New pc is on the way but it has taken/will take a few days for it to come into the shop. I'll be able to make a few posts during the daytime, but in the evening I'll probably not be able to post.
Sorry for the downtime, I'll be back to my normal posting in a few days.

No problem...I was wondering if there was a larger scale map in the works of the area that falls under my responsibility? I know that it is pretty large from a square acreage perspective, but you had mentioned something about working up a map of some sort. Thanks.

So, I've posted a crude (looking) map at the top of the page. This is a pdf file of the Area of the campaign, and although it may look crude, I want to say that it was made inAutoCad and I took pains to ensure that distances represented are arcurate to the foot. The square area represented on the map is the area Deiredon is responsible for asd a Groundsman.

It might be just a simple line drawing, Terquem, but this helps SOO much in visualizing the area. Thank you for this map! Oh- one detail- what is the name of the river Woodbridge sits next to again?

Also, I've been busy lately, and frustrated, because i want to keep up on all my games, but things are not working out the way I want them to.
I must attend a class, and will be away from computers on Monday and Tuesday, so unless I can update tonight, you won’t see me again until Wednesday, sorry for the inconvenience.

Yes that works. I know we've secured the treatment for the illness- did we ever get the re-enforcements for the village? The head of the guard was going to supply some material aid for the establishment of a village militia, yes?

If things go as planned, Alomar, Phineas, Poseus, and Caorann will arrive back in Woodbridge on the evening of the Seventh Day (They may have a Random Encounter on the way back).
At that time, Marcus will be in the Tavern, I believe. Is that correct?
And Dieredon and Calex should be leaving for Woodbridge on the morning of the Eighth day, arriving back in the village, on the tenth day (so we will need to do something to keep the others busy while they wait for Calex and Dieredon to return).
When everyone is together again, I think we will begin planning an expidition to the mountains to the southeast, and an attempt to obtain a stone, suitable to be enchanted into a spellstone, then someone will need to decide what the best possible spell to use in confronting the Decapus will be, and you might have to all journey back to Castletown and ask Sabrine to enchant the stone for you (where Calex will then be abvle to improve his spell book).
How does this sound?

My friends, unfortunately, the time has come for me to withdraw from this great game. I am sad to do so, but have recently had a promotion at work that has whittled down my game time. As such, I have been scrambling for the last few weeks always finding myself behind or letting a group down somewhere given the limited time I now have.
Since I am still trying to honor the commitments of GMing the few games I run, I have been forced to withdraw as a player, even from games I quite enjoy like this one.
I am sad to leave this group I have played with for a long time, but I cannot keep my place here and do the role justice. I know that when you have saved Woodbridge, Brother Phineas will be there in spirit leading the flock.
Good luck and happy gaming!

I am working on a revision to Dieredon’s map today (still sorry for its humble appearance, it is generated in AutoCad after all).
Now, for some good news/bad news
My daughter is receiving her Master’s Degree in South East Asian Studies from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. The graduation ceremony is on May 17. The wife and I are going to be there! We are leaving for Hawaii on the 13th and will be back on the 20th and, honestly, posting will not be high on my list of things to do while I am there ;)
So there will be a break. I hope everyone can put up with it.

Thanks for being patient, everyone!
I had hoped to get another update in before I left for Hawaii, but it has just been buckets of crazy sauce getting ready, my carry-on was broken when I got it out of storage and now I have to go shopping for a new one tonight, eek! Being old is hard enough, being old and traveling sucks.

WOW, just wow! The last few posts have been terrific. The players are creating this world exactly as i had hoped they would. You are all making this setting come alive, with intrigue, possibilities, and more.
Oh, and the vegetable thing was a joke that Calex and Dieredon knew that what they were going to say was probably not going to go over well (I'll try to get responses up soon) and the crowd was armed and ready to throw vegetables at them in the classic "Medieval Movie" style.
But I think they handled it brilliantly.
I have a question for Alomar. Have we already talked about the girl? If we did and I forgot, I’ll go back over my notes right away.
How do the players feel about me trying to recruit a new Cleric for the game? I kind of feel that there should be a Cleric Player Character involved in the campaign setting development.
