Derika |
She nods at her, "Thanks Lynnie." She looks at the others, "Sorry, I gotta do something. Ill be back as soon as I can." Turning she hurries outside and heads over to Yannus's shop to look for Kerrko.

Derika |
She stops to catch her breath before responding, "Others are at.....the inn, why wouldn't you think you'd see me again? I told you I would.....listen, I've been doing some thinking and well....I think.....that is if you're interested I'd like you to come with us. We're going to some dwarven ruins or something looking for some kind of book with stuff in it about healing stuff.....I'm not good at saying stuff....but, you sounded like you wanted to help make a difference and.....and I think you can, but you can't do that here. So....will you? Come with us that is?" She stares directly into his eyes as if afraid to look away, or was she just waiting to see how he'd react? It was hard to tell, but one thing was certain. She wouldn't move until she had an answer.

"I'm not sure yet, Vishanti."

Derika |
She looks at Kerkko and lets out a frustrated sigh, "I.....I don't know....but, you're not the only person in this town with two legs that can deliver stuff. I'm sure he'll find someone. You want to be more than you are? You want the chance to prove that you can do something in this world to make a difference? Then come with us......why is this such a difficult decision for you? I thought it was what you wanted?" She sighs as she rubs the back of her neck, "We're getting ready to leave though......so, I kind of need to know. I'm sorry I couldn't find you sooner to talk about it. I know it's kind of sudden." She looks from the cart to him, not really sure of what else she could say. Smiling a bit she says, "Aside from all that, you fight very bravely.....even when the odds are stacked against us. When we were up against that column thing and everyone was ready to give up.....when they wanted me to give up, you believed in me. I know I can act kind of reckless sometimes and make prople worry, but I don't mean to. I will always stick to what I believe is right and right now, I believe the right thing is for you to come with us. You nearly died in that last fight trying to protect the rest of us.....how could you not come with us? Please Kerkko, say you'll come." Her smile while small is as sincear as her words as she asks him to join them.

Is there anything reasonable that anyone can think of that I could do to either my armor, or add to my armor to protect me a little better? Something that I could have had done in the last two days or so, or even just something already made that she could add to what she already wears? Looking for some ideas on how to better fortify myself. If there's not a good or reasonably priced way to do it, don't worry about it. I'm sure she'll find something eventually that'll help keep all her parts in place. Lol
Derika |
I have my reasons, but I know how taxing running multiple npc's can be on Henry. Especially when he's not feeling good since I gave him my sickness, so if he says he really doesn't want another npc right now, then fine.

Derika |
She looks at him a little disappointedly, "Oh....okay, well I never picked up on that but whatever. If you'd rather stay here and live a mediocre life and not realize your true potential....then fine. I'm not gonna force you to come kicking and screaming. Sorry I bothered you, I guess I was wrong. I....I need to go." Without another word she turns and stalks angrily back to the Inn.

Derika |
Derika quietly seethes as she gets her stuff and walks away from the town and the dumbass in it. She doesn't bother talking to anyone as they head northeast as instructed. She just feels stupid for thinking something about someone and obviously being shown just how wrong she is. She didn't feel like talking much at all about it considering she didn't even know why she was so upset about it herself. Why should she care if his stupid ass didn't want to go with them. He'd probably just get himself killed anyways and that would be even more guilt for her to deal with. She just shakes her head as they walk and growls.
Derika |
Derika stays well ahead of the others as she slams branches out of the way as she goes. What was that Capt. Jozeph had always said about her temper? Huh...not like it mattered anyways. She could be pissed off if she wanted to, she just wasn't sure why exactly she was which pissed her off even more. I'm such a freaking idiot, how could I possibly think that he would want to come with us. Am I a total failure when it comes to reading people cuz I was pretty sure he wanted to do more with his life than be a pathetic delivery boy! Gggrrrr...oh why do guys have to be so ridiculously STUPID?! Oh no...better not show how I'm feeling, Gods know that would be a Damned waste! Pathetic...absolutely pathetic.
She continues on as she takes some time to think about things and tries to burn off some of her anger by taking it out on the foliage.
Abigail Merosa |
Abigail cast cure light wounds on the foliage?
anyway...
Abigail spent some time earlier at the small shrine in the center of town. she worked to keep it tidy. she even contemplated at becoming its caretaker when she decides that this adventuring life was getting to be too much. possibly even becoming a resident healer in these parts.
for now though, it was time to see what this healing thing was that they were asked to find out about. she wasn't much in combat but someone needed to keep this lot from bleeding out in some god forsaken dungeon.
Abigail keeps her distance from Derika, best let her blow off steam. besides there are times she has felt like that foliage when dealing with an angry derika. Maybe they could talk later.
Telsyn Setiva |
Telsyn casts dancing lights and leaves it centered over the general campground.
He drops his bags and follows Derika out into the woods, hoping to bring back some firewood, too. He can't carry as much as her, but between the 2 of them, they should be fine.
Derika |
Derika doesn't make any move to speak to Telsyn and makes quick work of breaking off heavier branches and gathering smaller kindling to start the fire with she lays them in a pile for Telsyn while she gathers the larger pieces of wood. It's obvious by her body language and general state that she's pissed about something and just wants to be left alone.
Telsyn Setiva |
Telsyn's aware of Derika's foul mood. He grabs wood and puts it in a pile. Once she's busted up enough wood for 3 days of fire, he speaks.
Let me load you up. Put out your arms. You haul the wood, I'll get the tinder.
Derika |
She sighs as she shakes her head and looks up at him, "Thanks I think I can handle picking up wood. I may be a poor judge of character and ignorant about a lot of things...but I can remember how to do that much." She still seems a bit angry, but her voice sounds more frustrated and tired than anything else. Picking up the larger pieces of wood she turns and heads back to the camp.
Derika |
Once they get back to the camp she gets the tender from Telsyn and starts going to work on it as soon as she has a stone ring set up. Once she has it well and started she puts some wood on it and lets it build up. The fire wasn't completely necessary, but it would keep things like wolves and such from coming too close to the camp and the workout of gathering the wood helped eased a little more of her tension. Standing back a bit from the flames she sits on the ground and pulls some rations out of her sack along with her water skin. It really bothered her that she couldn't figure out why it bothered her so much that he wouldn't come with them. Sure, she thought he had some potential and she liked having him around.....he was decent and talked to her like he actually believed in her...but, he was just a stupid guy wasn't he? And if he wanted to waste his life being someone's delivery boy, that was his choice wasn't it? So then why in the hells was it bothering her so damn much that he wasn't here? Was it because he wanted to stay in Vinse....or was it because he didn't want to be with...her? Ridiculous....absolutely ridiculous. So what? He only hugged me, it didn't mean anything. He doesn't mean anything....it was just one more case of me being wrong. He didn't want to come, it has nothing to do with me...right? Pulling her knees up to her chest she wraps her arms around them and stares into the fire trying to make sense of her conflicting feelings.
Derika |
She looks down at the ground and lets out a frustrated sigh, "I went to find Kerkko.....to ask him.....I asked him to come with us and he said no. I thought......well it doesn't matter what I thought. He made up some lame excuses about delivering stuff to the city for Yannus, and then something about how he thought you didn't like him very much and not wanting to cause friction......stupid jerk. If he didn't want to come with me he could have just said so and not been such a pussy about it. If.....if he didn't want to be around me he should have just said so. Why should I give a care about what he thinks anyways. It was just another stupid mistake made by a stupid girl who thought she saw something that obviously wasn't there." Ending her sentance in a huff of breath she picks up another stick and tosses it angrily into the fire. "Why should I care if he wants to waste his stupid life in Vinse? I don't care.....I don't."

GM Dust |
I hope you're not too mad at me, but there was a reason I didn't join you on the road. Yannus offered a good word for me in the city to study as a warpriest in exchange for delivering his goods. I thought that if I could learn to heal, I'd be of more use to you and the others. Perhaps I could keep you alive, rather than goad you into fighting dangerous enemies. That was a joke, ha ha. But my training will take two weeks. I spoke to Isotalo and I will meet you in Loweir after I have finished. Stay safe,"

Thangrom "Steelborn" Deepwalker |
Thangrom busies himself cleaning and polishing his weapon and armor, especially pleased with the adjustments the town blacksmith had made the previous day. He grins widely at his equipment, and says a short prayer to Gorum for more battle in the near future.
Once that is finished, he rejoins the others, the same confident smile on his face. "Well then, what'd I miss?" he asks, plopping down next to the fire.
Vishanti |
Reading the letter Vishanti smiles. "Not really. Looks as if your initial assessment of him was quite accurate. He's willing to put in the time to be better able to keep you safe.....I'd say what you thought you saw is definitely there." she says placing a hand on her friend's shoulder.
Derika |
She throws another stick in the fire, "I guess so, I just feel foolish now for getting so upset. I don't even know why I got like that in the first place." She sighs as she looks qt Thangrom, "Nothin' much really."
