Vanovar looks at the skeletons, looks at his sword, then sighs, and attacks witb it anyway.

They're dead men, Venja. Your little sister was never afraid of them, why would you be? They can't even hold a drink, anything they pour down their gullet hits the floor immediately. At least with you it takes a while, Venja, before the drink lies on the floor again.

Venja tries to ready his mace and attack, but he just stands there, staring.

Once he snaps out of it:

Venja move sup to the nearest enemy, and deals a whomp with his mace.

Vanovar hefts his sword, and moves up, slashing at one of the skeletons in back. He connects with the skeleton in the shadows, feeling his blade sink in and the skeleton fall to the floor with a wet splatter and clatter of bones on stone.

Cyrixs moves up and likewise skillfully dispatches one of the skeletons, smashing it under club. the bones pop with a sickening splatter and snap as sinew breaks and blood splatters back over Cyrixs.

dim light: 1d10 ⇒ 4

The skeletons clamour out of the shadows, moving up to claw at Vanovar and B1ue, scratching ineffectually at both.

bad dice rolls:

claw@vanovar: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 161d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

claw@b1ue: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 121d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Venja moves up to smash the one on b1ue, noticing an odd red tinge to the skeletons as he can see so much better in the lighting

Rowane rushes up, and smashes the last of them with her club.

Omorose, these are Bloody skeletons. you know they're resistant to channelling, posesss the usual DR 5/bludgeoning, and they are Deathless. To destroy it, they must be sprinkled with holy water, destroyed by positive energy, or destroyed within the area of a bless or hallow spell. otherwise they will rise again in an hour. they possess fast healing 1.

a wand charge each, or a single channel energy will be enough to destroy the bloody skeletons. honestly not the most complex way to 'finalize' the death. since most undead go up against clerics pretty often.

just let me know who's spending the charges, or which priest is spending a use of channelling positive energy

yes there's stares ahead. but you'd like to go back and clear out some of this level first so you feel "safer" ? thats fine. once two of you decide where to head: the beetle, locked door, or roldaire. or downstairs if y'all change your mind and want to descend.

Vanovar will channel energy once. I'll have one channel left and I don't intend to channel all that often anyway. I hope Venja can make better use out of them than I can.

1/2 Channels
2/2 spells, plus domain spell
47/50 charges CLW
4/5 touch of Glory used
3/5 Destructive Smite

Still 1 nonlethal damage.

Vanovar mumbles a prayer to Gorum: "Oh Mighty Warrior Gorum, these things will rise again to fight unless we destroy them. While I appreciate their spirit, they might be better off somewhere else. I hope you'll welcome them should you see them.
And with that, he blasts a wave of positive energy over them.

"Oh, by the way, I'm carrying some combustables. Might be a good idea to spread them, in case we come up against something nasty. Any takers?"

Vanovar holds out two Alchemist Fires and two Acid Flasks.

Darn it, ninja'd. While I don't mind keeping a channel, wouldn't it be more efficient to save the channels for the back row? I'm more of a frontliner, if I need to channel, I need to skip my attack action. Maybe it'd be better if I'm available for damage output, but I'm fine with it either way. Vanovar will prioritize keeping people upright to bashing heads in. He's a cleric of battle, but that doesn't mean he'll lose himself in the fight.

Vanovar, seeing his skeletal companion dissolve before his eyes, runs in the room to fight the thing head-on. He rushes in and tries to position himself tactfully, and then he jabs at it with his longspear.
