Oh, I didn't realize Awareness took care of Darkvision. Since he's a gifted human, he is aware of little details others miss. But he would also want night vision for any nighttime missions, and would install it on his suit.

So perhaps Darkvision on the ride and Super Skill: Notice for the good doctor would be a better fit?

And are you positive you do not want to make use of Super Karma. The option goes away once you enter the game.

Hmm...I think I can take the Overconfident Hinderance, then. That's 2 major hinderances, so I get the extra 5 power points. I've taken 2 levels of Super Skill, and the Power Points edge, so I have a total of 20 power points total. I'm using the minor hinderance to get $1000 instead of an extra skill point.

With a d4 str you have a load limit of 20. Call the flashlight a simple plastic job, weight 2, rather that the combat ready mag-light that is the default and you are good to go.

Be aware though that if you carry more than 10 more bullets you will be over your load limit and taking the penalty in stressful situations.

Finally got some time this weekend to take a closer look. Dropping Awareness gives me 3 extra points I needed to add a second summonable minion. I made the Skill and Power Point costs more clear as well.

Dr. Button

Crunch looks good.

So tell me about the minions. Who are they? Goons? Robots? Mutant goldfish? How are they summoned?


Gammix and Omegaton are robots. Gammix prefers ranged while Omegaton prefers melee. Gammix would be smaller (roughly a floating energy pistol) while Omegaton is a humanoid who prefers smashing things with a hammer.

If that needs more Power Points than the 3 for each, I can only use 1 minion for now. Probably Gammix, as she'd be more eager to help on assignment. Omegaton would probably be damaged and missing a core component Dr. Buttonik will conveniently find once he has enough Power Points to invest.

Summoning them: Dr. Buttonik probably carries them around as compact cubes full of nanomachines, but keeps them offline. They're useful, but they usually annoy him in the long term. When it's time to use them, he activates the cubes and sets them down, and they build themselves and activate in a couple of turns.

The only possable issue is that as they are the minions function exactly like human minions. They need air, are healed by heal skill/healing power, are effected by poison and disease etc.

Changing this will take points, 5 to be exact. This will make them Constructs with all the bells and whistles. Short of that we can re-skin as not very well built bots. They need air because their systems are not sealed, they do not 'eat' or 'sleep' but need the equivalent time and resources to keep functioning. You see where I am going with this.

The real problem would be Gammix. The flight and ranged attack would be tough to get in. Maybe a confabulation of gear and a hindrance to reflect the loss of hands.....


Do they even allow games that aren't Pathfinder to be played here?

Omegaton is humanoid, so I'll use him for now. To afford making him a construct, I removed the range attack from my combat ride and he will be the only minion for now.

Dr. B looks all legal and correct but I have severe misgivings as to his survivability.

As near as I can see you have no defenses and a d4 vigor.
Most weapons are in the 2-3d6 range. A simple pistol (2d6. Av roll 7) will cause you a wound with a double tap (+1dam) that becomes 2. This could be a problem.

I also do not see any attacks other than your d4 fighting w. d4 str. This is less of an issue as you have a wild die to help with the fighting. The d4 damage however will be hard pressed to get past average toughness. I do see you have Intimidation which is quite effective in combat so attacks are less an issue.

Perhaps you are counting on Omegaton handling the rough stuff? Not a bad plan, Construct is a strond defensive power. Note however that Minions are Extras so no wounds or wild die.

Now you do have a large hunk o' cash and gear can aid both attack and defense. However, your d4 str is a real limiting factor. You can carry only 20wt without penalty. You can get decent attacks and defenses under that limit but it takes careful attention.

Not saying Dr. B is bad or anything. I just want you to be aware of what I am seeing.

Sounds like he would be really squishy. I debated between Flight and Tough for his combat ride, would that help much? I don't know too much about the flow of combat in SW.

Toughness would help...ish but you'd get more bang for the buck with SuperStat Strength to a d6 and then wearing armor. Ablative or Kevlar and a Zbelt or suchlike.

Flight is also a good defensive power. It can get you into cover etc very well but using it that way takes very close attention to descriptions and liberal use of the phrase "I take cover from (x) behind (y)"

With some decent cash you and your minion could become excellent ranged attackers.

I do wonder about the Speak Language power. It does not seem to fit the concept with out taking the written word mod. Mind you this power really comes into its own in NE as you can speak and understand V'sori. Have you considered adding the written word mod and making it a device?


I'll use the Super Attribute stat to improve Dr B's strength to a d6, and move Speak Language to his combat ride. While I do want him to be fluent in many languages (cause he's smart!) I do need written word to explain he's a master coder.
